The home was a wonderful fit for myself and y group of friends. The town of Tannersville is gorgeous and the owner of this home, Efraim, was able to quickly reply to any questions that I had. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great getaway spot!
Trip cut short due to unforeseen issues with the house -- property management was responsive and fai
The actual house was simple and clean and would have been perfect for our large group. Each bedroom had multiple single beds that could be moved around to create a bigger bed. The beds were supplied with bedding and towels. Each bedroom in the first floor rear of the house had either base board heating or a space heater. There are 7 bedrooms on the first floor and 4 on the second. 3 full bathrooms on the first floor and one on top. Living room, kitchen and top 4 bedrooms were heated via radiator heating. It took us a while to figure out the thermostat was behind a painting on the wall but once found, the heat started up right away. The kitchen had two fridges but one of them had inoperable doors. However, there was a good working fridge in the basement.
We booked the house for the weekend but were only able to stay for a night due to unforeseen issues. These issues were out of the property owners control and it turned out to be bad timing. Two major issues occurred:
1) The main sewage plumbing in the basement backed up and burst in the basement.
2) The electrical transformer box on the street burst into sparks which affected our electricity for several hours.
The care taker was very responsive and resolved the sewage drain pipe issue by the next day. However at this point we had decided to leave. Our group had many young children whose demands could not be met with the electrical issues and usage of the plumbing ( sinks, toilets, etc... )
The property manager was very sympathetic and compensated our group. I suspect theses issues were just bad timing and this house would be suitable for a large group with minimal luxury requirements.
