This experience was unforgettable.
I love my stay. I came from Seattle with two of my friends. We had a blast. We went to the rain forest, and la push beach. We were genuinely sad that we had to leave. Our host was wonderful. He was very helpful. I dont like living in the city, so this was perfect for us. I now am looking for a place to live in Forks, but I haven't had any luck. I would love to go back again once I'm able to.
The house was pleasant. There is a big bump in the gravel driveway, which is not expected nor easily seen. The Wifi router needs to be turned on at the switch on the wall behind the TV. Then, the Wifi worked fine, although it is not very fast. The house was roomy and clean. The beds were comfortable. The bath off the master bedroom had a slightly smokey smell. Although the listing shows that the house has air conditioning, it was not operable. It didn't matter. The windows open and many have screens. After opening the windows, the house cooled down quickly in the evening. Our biggest disappointment was that the freezer in the refrigerator did not keep ice cream frozen. It was on the maximal cold setting. It made ice cubes, but the ice cream was very soft. This house was a comfortable place to stay while we explored the Hoh Rain Forest, the Hoh River and the Pacific beaches.
Central Location - Dated House
The property was conviently located to multiple beaches/parks and the grocery store. The house was a bit outdated and the air quality in the house wasn't great (felt a bit dusty). My one issue is while we returned from home, we saw 2 inmates washing police cars right at the Forks City's Hall that's literally located next to the house. We new they were inmates as they had their orange jump suits on. I don't know if this is typical at the city hall, but it was a bit unsettling.
Clean and comfortable
Not the most modern of accommodations but remember this is Forks. We found the place to be clean and comfortable. Everything you'll find here is functional. It suited our needs well. Located near the center of this small and very walkable town. Great place to relax and wind down from all the hustle and bustle.
Great home base for ONP
This house was everything we needed it to be. It was large, spacious, and quiet. The kitchen and laundry facilities worked great.
The location sandwiched between the police station and the "Cullen house" made me feel protected from whatever might be after us! Just kidding of course.
We made day trips to the Hoh Rainforest, Ruby Beach, and Lake Quinault.
Quiet! Clean! Spacious!
The property was more than I expected from the pictures! The house was big and had everything we needed for the few days we were there. It was quiet and had beautiful views. The apple trees in the back yard and cows over the fence were a great treat for my city kids. We had a great time!
Forks is the gateway to the west side of Olympic National Park. The Hoh Rain Forest is a 1 hour drive south, Rialto Beach and La Push are 20 minutes west, and Lake Crescent and the Sol Duc Valley are 45 minutes north and east. Forks is also the setting for Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" book series, although nothing was filmed here.
