- Both beach memberships groomed daily of nasty, stinky seaweed that washes up nightly & hauled away daily (smells like "rotten eggs")!

1. INCH BEACH is a "RARE" ocean beach membership:

And it doesn't get much closer to the ocean than our rental! You will have "partial" ocean views that very few home rentals enjoy or you can quickly walk "just across the street" to this sandy beach on the ocean! Then enjoy a swim in the ocean or lounge on the "groomed daily" sandy beach. Just remember to pack up our wheeled Tommy Bahama Beach Cart to haul towels/chairs, your own snorkel gear & our beach toys for fun sand castle building (in BIG beach bag located on hall closet shelf)!!! PLUS relax under shaded Tiki Hut w concrete picnic table or if hungry, grill out ocean side (charcoal grill)! Just pack our cooler(s), foil & tools with your beverages/food/charcoal for grilling! Then before walking back to our rental, enjoy the shower to wash away the sand! (note: online photo pre-IRMA- now missing grass & gate)

2. CABANA CLUB (CC) membership: mid Dec TBD reopening due to Hurr. Irma!

Private POOL/BEACH, between 4th & 5th Sts., just 5-6 blocks walk on Island walking, jogging, biking path at the end of our driveway (few rentals directly on this path!). With 65’ temperature controlled pool ocean side/sandy beach/lounger chairs provided at both, plus changing room & showers, free WiFi, rent towels, purchase food & beverages (ask for free tap water).

BEACH ITEMS:

Our rental provides 2+ cooler options: 1 on wheels to take to Inch Beach, 1 for boat, several soft sided ones for short beach trips or frozen food grocery shopping, plus a Tommy Bahama beach cart to haul over to Inch Beach, Sombrero Beach or nightly views at Sunset Park. Our rental provides asstd. BEACH BAGS, beach towels (why buy or rent @ CC but pls. remember to bring them back) & a few kiddie beach toys in big "tote bag" (hallway closet/upper pantry shelf)!

ISLAND AMENITIES:

Walking Path: This rental is conveniently located on the "rare" & limited KCB path that connects to most ALL Island amenities!!! So just down our driveway, safely walk, jog, bike, push baby strollers etc.. (see our topical map photo for path diagrams, as very few sidewalks on most streets in KCB)! This KCB path only parallels the main KCB streets: Sadowski Pkwy., Ocean Drive E & W & golf coarse streets. Also, want to rent bicycles or canoes/kayaks? Most of these companies offer delivery/pick up included in price!

Sunset Park "must see" nightly western sunsets is just 1 1/2 blocks (remember: dog friendly)!

RECREATION: Island "planned community" amenities: golf, basketball/tennis court(s), horse shoes, bocci ball, playground equipment & restrooms

Misc.: On Sadowski Parkway is private marina with fuel & bait, excursions (fishing/scuba/snorkeling) & if re-opens diving shop plus misc. shops

RARE & UNIQUE LOCATION on our Island of KCB- waterviews front & back thru the MANY patio doors- few homes can say that! And my husband needs to see the ocean, with views from front balcony or LR, DR & kitchen sliders!!! Plus BOTH of our bedrooms look down the entire length of the canal toward Marathon, great lights at night!

BOATING & LOCATIONS:

Boating location is the BEST, take our 10th/11th St. canal to Shelter Bay/Ocean or the "Vaca Cut"/US1 bridge to the Gulf!

- So boaters that are located on 7th St. & higher Sts. are really close to the Vaca Cut/Gulf (see KCB topical map).

- But boaters located on 6th St. & lower need to idle around the Island of KCB (speed limit & wake zone) which is a little longer in time/more fuel to get there!

- Private marina for boat rentals, boat launch for fee, fuel up or buy bait and fishing/snorkeling/diving excursions (dive shop nearby)!

We're on the Island's limited walking, jogging, biking path at the end of our driveway (very few rentals directly on this path and very few sidewalks on our Island, otherwise "walk in the street"!). This path connects our Guests to everything that is important on our lsland of KCB! - VERY convenient & safe for walking, jogging, dog walks, biking etc.. PLUS we are just 1 1/2 blocks from Sunset Park, a must see for nightly sunsets with OBSERVATION ONLY PIER. (Remember it's dog friendly with water spicket & doggie pick up bags.) Or walk a few blocks to 2 restaurants and other Island "planned community" amenities:

Area Information

City of Key Colony Beach is located at Mile Marker 53.5 (oceanside), just north of the Marathon City Limits.

KCB has City Hall officials, KCB Police Dept., shared Fire Dept. with Marathon & locally governed by volunteers. See topical KCB City map link for walking path locations (connects to most amenities on our Island, but few private home rentals), links for weather, City Information etc..

If private home rental not located on the "limited" walking paths, folks must walk on the street, as very, very few sidewalks connect homes on the finger streets that are not located on Sadowski Parkway, Ocean Drive East & Ocean Drive West (which is where our rental is located as well as most hotels/motels/condos)!

KCB is a PLANNED COMMUNITY:

RECREATION: (all located on the walking path)

- Private marina, boat ramp for fee in & out, fuel, bait, snorkeling & scuba expeditions.

- KCB City park between 7th & 8th Sts. on walking, jogging, biking path:

“Christmas at Keys Ocean Drive is best gift during holidays”

What we like best about the area is that everyone is so friendly, and every property

is so pristine. I see why people flock to KCB. It is not only location, location, location.

It is also people, places to go and things to do.

We had great access to the Gulf side for launching our jet skis at a near by boat launch, just north of Sadowski/ US 1 intersection.



What we like about your property?: EVERYTHING!!

1) Keys Ocean Drive was very spacious and had everything to enjoy our stay .

2) The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, cleaning up and washing dishes.

3) We cooked chicken on the grill for dinner, and enjoyed the balcony view day and night.

4) My mother loved your home and that is saying a lot, since we have rented around 5 different houses in KCB over the last 10 years.

5) Last but not least, the covered parking kept the inside of my car cool to go grab breakfast at Leigh Ann's Coffee House, drive to the beach or buy groceries.



I must mention that the police presents was everywhere. That gave us a great sense of security and pride to be amongst the KCB vacationers and homeowners.



The memories we made will last a life time. And I must thank you for allowing us to create them at your wonderful, beautiful home.

Brad was a delightful guest from the start to receiving this lovely review! One BIG family, many houses, over 10 years enjoying our Island of KCB! We hope to welcome them back soon!!



And I am so happy that they enjoyed our rental, especially happy to hear the "fresh smell" compliment!!! And remember that we rent to dogs! In 2015 our bedroom carpets were replaced, all ceilings/doors/woodwork/kitchen cabinets painted as well as I personally deep cleaned everything late September!!!

the perfect spot!

We just returned from our 3rd stay at this Key Colony

duplex. With so many choices for places to stay on this fantastic florida key, we seem to come back to this one for the comfort and location. In the many years we have been coming to Key Colony we have stayed in several different duplexes and condos.Once again, we can only give the highest recommendations for this location. Our stay was comfortable, the home is spotless and we had every need met during our stay for the entire month.The house decor is light, bright, tropical and inviting with plenty of room to move around inside and out. We visited the beach across the street frequently..perfect for a morning or evening stroll or a picnic lunch.it was great to have beachchairs, cooler, towels and even the beach bag provided!(which came in handy for the times we ventured to the nearby state parks & nearby sombrero beach in marathon). The grill on the outside deck worked perfectly for our cookouts before heading just down the street to sunset park for the spectacular sunsets. The proximity to nearby restaurants, the marina, and cabana club made it easy just to walk everywhere..and walk we did! We continue to love the neighborhood and the beauty of key colony beach...friendly is the word here! The owners continue to maintain this rental to high standards...without hesitation we would definately stay here again for a 4th time! One note: this visit we had guests/family with us twice...this home because of its open floor plan, wonderful views from the decks, and well equipped kitchen (not to mention plenty of towels and bedding) makes this the perfect spot for a family gathering or couples getaway! Fantastic dining, fishing, bike rentals, boating, and even golf are just moments away!

Owner's Response: The best compliment a rental can have is a happy repeat guest! And we have been very lucky to host this couple and their friends for their 3rd & final visit! They love our island so much that (after I helped them secure a long term rental) they have bought in 2011! We invited Joe & Pam for brunch when we were all down there June 2011- what great fun to meet these guests!!! So peruse our Guest Comments and decide for yourself if you would like to spend paradise in "the perfect spot"! I try my best to be quick to respond, answer all your questions and supply links to help plan your perfect vacation in paradise. Oh and host this beautiful rental for your comfort and happiness. Why be disappointed, please consider Keys Ocean Drive for all of your vacation needs- even that beach bag!!!!

Beautiful, everything close by!

This is a beautiful, clean and fun place. Located in a community of wonderful , friendly people with everything to offer right on the island itself. Patty was a wonderful source of information and a pleasure to deal with! We loved walking our dog around the island and to sunset park! We rented bicycles for the week and could really tour around the island. The home had everything we needed and was very cute! We especially found entertaining the ground owls that were nesting at the roadside and were a continual source of conversation with the passerbys. Would definetly love to come back next year. Loved this place!

Key Colony's finest

My family of four had a terrific time while staying at this property. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. We love the area of Key Colony Beach and prefer it over all areas in the keys. The house was clean and comfortable and even had extras for use on the beach across the street. We loved sitting on the balcony and enjoyed watching the fledgling owls that had nested on the property. The snorkeling is good from Inch Beach, across the street, where we saw many fish, conch shells, starfish, and stingrays. One night at dusk, I saw a dolphin right off shore! Cabana Club was great also and they have a wonderful little snack bar with good food! I could go on and on about the wonderful things to do in the keys! The only thing that would be nice would be bicycles and kayaks on the property. We had to rent ours. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this property.

And this is really what guests want to know: " We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this property." It's great to let future guess know about snorkeling from Inch Beach (just across the street). And what a moment to remember "saw a dolphin right off shore"!!! While I do not provide/advertise these items (bicycles and kayaks), it's because I cannot control their maintenance. And only a few rentals actually do provide them.... And the risk/liability of both being poorly maintained would ruin everyones vacation... There are many rentals, even some that deliver right to the dock or driveway! My favorite delivery company has a BIG sign on top of the truck "free snow removal"...now that's a great sense of humor in the FL Keys!!!! We hope to host your family again soon! A Vacation Experience of our Dreams!

There are not enough positive things to say about this property and its' owners. Lovely, clean, comfortable accomodations and ammenities were everything and more than described. The Home Owner was most helpful with information on local attractions, directions and recommendations! The home, private, "Inch Beach", as well as the Cabana Club was perfect in building wonderful memories of our 34th Anniversary! This is definitely on our 'favorite vacation memories list' and we hope to repeat it again soon!

A wonderful time had by all!

My husband and two teenage sons spent 8 days at this rental and it was perfect. The Cabana Club pool, which is included, was a big hit. You could have eaten off the floors, it was so clean. The fact that we were exactly in the middle of the Keys was great because neither Key Largo or Key West felt that far away. I would recommend this to anyone, I promise you won't be disappointed. This is a very quiet property. Although the main thoroughfare is close (Highway 1) you would never know it. Fantastic!!

Owner's Response: What a surprise for me with an unsolicited review on HA/VRBO before I even requested it! This is what we also wrote on another website: Susan St. Paul, MN Spotless and perfect home! Left on 09/08/2011 for a stay in August 2011 We were so impressed with this house from the time we came in the door. Great, quiet location off the Highway. Very clean and roomy. The owners were friendly and accommodating. My teens liked the Cabana club and inch beach is so close. I would recommend this property in a heartbeat. My Owner Response: I spoke to Susan's husband while there and he stated that they were having a wonderful time. Tthey had all visited Inch Beach for the snorkeling/ shade, plus The Cabana Club for swimming, games and their sandy beach! He said that the new king bed was very comfortable/ wonderful. He also said that the rental was perfectly clean/spotless and no bugs! And Wendy had responded quickly to their problems with the keyless entry due to humidity. I also appreciate him telling me about a "boo boo" they created that will need to be fixed- it was a small thing and no deduction from their deposit…. We have a brand NEW keyless entry just installed week of Oct. 16, 2011! Plus a NEW lock box is on it's way for installation as well!

As you may not know, our Island of Key Colony Beach is a family friendly "planned community" within walking distance to everything/all island amenities! KCB is located at Mile Marker (MM) 53.5, annexed off of Marathon, the largest island in the middle of the Keys. Key West is MM 0-5 and Key Largo is MM 110-120 approximately. As a gauge, KCB is about a 2 1/2 hour drive south/southwest from the Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) airport and about 2 hours from the Miami (MIA) airport. But because Miami is an international airport is will take about 30 mins. longer to maneuver thru their baggage, rental car, construction and traffic issues. ​Allow plenty of time when flying home, both airports have cruise ship passengers that can flood the security lines!​

Key Colony Beach is so different and nice from some other areas in the Keys. And our location couldn't be better! We are on 1038 Ocean Drive West (33051), across the street from the Atlantic Ocean and at the end of the 10th/11th Sts. canal near the Vaca Cut to the Gulf with a 30' dock.... (see website​ links​ for addl. photos​ ​etc.) Our Cabana Club ocean side swim club membership for 6 is approx. a 6 block walk east at sea level! Private membership Inch Beach ocean beach couldn't be closer, just across the street! The KCB city walking path is directly in front of our house so it's easy to walk 1+ block WEST to the Sunset Park​ nightly sunsets (dog friendly with water spicket & pickup baggies)​. ​P​lus follow path EAST to marina,​ ​golf coarse (fee + rent clubs)/tennis ​(court fee)​+ basketball court/bocci ball/horseshoes/​​childrens playground equipment/restrooms and TWO restaurants: Key Colony Inn & Havana Jacks (Hurr. Irma destroyed Sparkys & Leigh Annes), Sparkys rebuilding nearby, but moving off Island of KCB :(
