Begin your day with morning coffee in our private Fountain Courtyard as you gently sway to the sounds of our splashing fountain and birds singing in the background. Contemplate your day: ride horseback on the beach, visit the hot springs, dip into the seasonal community swimming pool (admission included), take a trip into town for fish tacos or to sample the fine wines of Valle de Guadalupe, or just relax on the beach.

Stroll across the street to La Marina restaurant and enjoy a shrimp omelet and mimosa breakfast while overlooking the marina and the lagoon. Admire a jet ski on the water and then catch a round of pool before making your way back to Villa Bajabarr.

Now head to the beautiful uncrowded beach. Don't miss the views of Isla Todos Los Santos (about 7 miles across the water) and Punta Banda peninsula (looks like Hawaii's Diamond Head.)

Back from the beach, rinse off at our backyard shower (hot and cold water of course), then hop into our state-of-the-art hot tub for a relaxing massage. 72 jets put the power where it's needed, including a recliner seat for a full body massage.

With a hint of dusk in the air, grill up dinner on the Main Terrace as city lights across the lagoon twinkle into view and stars gradually appear. Our Main Terrace has table seating for 8 and a patio swing for 2.

After dinner light the Main Terrace's fire pit, draw the chairs around and bring out the marshmallows! Then head inside for a Netflix movie.

Before you turn in, slip out of the master suite's private entrance to the small terrace to enjoy the ocean breeze and a night cap.

Located on the secluded strand across the water from Baja California’s Ensenada, Villa Bajabarr features a private, 3-room, second floor master suite. Living, dining and kitchen areas are also located on the second floor. The large great room features its own fireplace, and lots of windows to display mountain and estuary views, two terraces, and an available air mattress/cot to sleep two.

The master suite with fireplace, has a queen bed plus an adjoining room with a single bed, bathroom and walk-in closet. Enjoy your own private balcony with mountain view.

On the ground floor are two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and double beds. Additionally, you will find a general-access bathroom, another bedroom with double bed, and a bunk room that sleeps four, and has room for your own air mattresses.

Villa Bajabarr provides a free complimentary Wi-Fi internet connection plus a complementary Netflix account for our guests. We do our best to ensure the internet service is operational, but Villa Bajabarr is not the internet service provider and thus cannot guarantee the service speeds or operational effectiveness of the internet service.

Guests should also note that while Villa Bajabarr provides an internet connected TV for viewing Netflix or other internet content, we do not provide any broadcast or cable television services.

Wonderful long weekend!

We had a wonderful long weekend staying at this house! There was 15 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is a short walk to a secluded beach. We literally had the beach to ourselves each time we were there. We loved how the beach water was very calm, no big waves or hard currents. All in all we loved it and we are ready to plan our next trip!!

I loved the house it is definitely in need of a little TLC

My favorite part about the house was that it was big enough for my huge family to reunite and have space to ourselves at the same time. I loved the location because the beach was practically empty which was surprising considering that it was during the Fourth of July! Esther was extremely Great about responding to my questions and her responses were almost instant! Overall one of my favorite trips of all time !

Wonderfull house, great location

Overall me and my family had a great time staying at this property. There was 12 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone. Really nice airflow through the whole house when the windows are open so you don't have to worry about getting hot. The beach front is walking distance from the house which is nice and very convenient when u have kids and elders in your group. Kids loved the community pool also. The kitchen is nicely furnished with pots and pans etc. I took some of my own from home just in case and ended up not even using them. The fridge is a little small but we made it work. To sum it all up, if your looking for a property with plenty of room for a large family or group then this is the right place for you. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. Our stay was very comfortable here!

Not a great holiday when you have no hot water, no gas, no heat when it's 50 degree

1. The house is in decent shape. Not terrible but not great either. It was raining during our stay and it was leaking from the ceiling so we had to put a bucket to avoid slippery floor. The house has basic furniture & can easily accommodate 15 people. We brought our very own clean linens, bed sheets, beds and pillows' covers and even our own bath towers (even the owner provided all of that).

2. Location is 40 min from downtown Ensenada and less than 15 min from La Bufadora. Roads were bumpy and muddy on my travel days. It's guard gated so it's safe but the outside and inside looks pretty rundown. There would be nothing to do after dark. It can be nice in the summer when you can go to the beach in 5-10 min. The entire subdivision needs serious upkeep and some of the houses nearby are completed burn down and neglected. It's quite an unpleasant scene.

3. Owner is responsive and pretty easy to get a hold of except for one evening when we couldn't open the door with provided access code. It was pitch dark, cold and our two families with children were pretty panic. We later got access to the house after multiple attempts to contact owner but unfortunately, we later found out another major problem that the house was running out of gas. We bought a lot of seafood from the fish market and we couldn't do any cooking. It's a disaster when there was no hot water or no shower for everyone after a full day of activities and it was extremely cold at night when there was no heat. Trust me, Ensenada can be that cold on rainy late December nights. We, of course, informed the owner immediately but were told there was nothing she could do at 6:00PM. The helper came the following morning at 9:00 AM so the entire time we spent in the house for one day was just a horrible experience. We spent 5 nights total and the incidence happened on the 3rd night. We booked 2 nights at first and extended 3 more nights with a discount (after the 1st night stay) because it was around Christmas and we didn't want to move to other location since we found enough activities to do in Ensenada. We receive no compensation after that incidence and later were told that discount has been applied. But again, keep in mind that we got the booking and paid in full before that incidence happen.

We just wish the owner handles the house upkeep and the situation better.

4. To other travelers: it maybe OK to book in warm summer months but I would avoid at all cost during winter or spring time.

Owner's Response: We take great pride in our overwhelmingly positive reviews. Prior to this, our rating was 4.75 out of 5. This home is our personal vacation house. We visited the home a few days after this guest despite wintery weather, we had a lovely stay. While Ensenada is a beach community, Bajabarr is an all season home. The central concern for this guest was that we ran out of gas. This has never happened before. Gas was not depleted until 8:00 PM on Christmas night. Despite our best efforts & frantic phone calls, there was absolutely nothing we could do to get a delivery until the next morning. The tank was full when the guest arrived & it remains a mystery how an entire tank was used in 3 days. Never has so much gas been used by us, or a guest, in such a short time. While many houses do not have central heating, Bajabarr is equipped with a modern central heating system effective at maintaining a comfortable environment even during cold winter nights. We have revised our procedures to closely monitor gas usage to ensure this never happens again. We urge potential guests to read our other reviews for a more useful representation of Bajabarr. During this guest’s stay, it was cold & the unusual torrential rains caused minor road damage. We drove down a few days after this guest departed & had no trouble with the roads. Due to the heavy rains a leak appeared in the entry way. This was an unforeseen inconvenience & was addressed as soon as possible. The leak has since been repaired. On Christmas Day, the guest experienced a fifteen-minute delay in reaching us. Guests are provided alternate telephone numbers we were reached on the first call to an alternate number. While there was some difficulty with their access codes, guests were immediately provided alternate access. Bajabarr is about 20 miles from downtown Ensenada but there is a restaurant/bar across the street from the house that provides live music & great views. The “subdivision” has more than a hundred houses, all of which are in good repair. There are no burned down houses. While we are very sorry this guests experience was less than desirable, we made every possible effort to address each individual complaint. Never before has one of our guests run out of gas. An additional discount was not offered due to the prior discount, additional cost of a second tank of gas & added cleaning charges due to extreme odor of fish.
