About the property

Awesome Buck Lake Cottage-10 Guests- Winterized- Relax, ATV, Sled, Canoe, Ski...

Beautiful, spacious year round cottage on Buck Lake. 107 private feet of sandy shoreline, extensive dock and patio at the beach front, great for young kids. This lake is rarely rough, has deep waters up to 80 feet for great fishing, and is plenty large enough for water skiing, tubing, or just canoeing/kayaking around. The area offers many golf courses, hiking trails, snowmobile and ATV trails right from the cottage, and Huntsville has fantastic shopping and restaurants. Ask for more details on this. Inside the cottage is two large bedrooms in the upper section that are pine lined and very comfortable, the main level is open concept kitchen, dining and living space with a great view out to the lake with large new windows. The downstairs has a sitting area and games room (pingpong and fooseball) all open concept. Bathrooms are on the main level and basement. 2 other bedrooms are on main level and basement. Many board games and satellite TV are included as well as all the Firewood you would like to use indoors or at the fire pit by the water. There is a small pine lined and powered bunkie cabin at the waters edge as well that sleeps your extra guests or the teenagers. You will love staying at this cottage, lapping up the heat from the woodstove, after a day outside over a coffee/hot chocolate. Your group will not be disappointed.

Great cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay with a group of friends and was even better this time.

The pictures don't do it justice. Was a nice surprise to the first-timers when they walked in the door.

The wood stove kept the cottage really warm day and night.

Thanks again Kirk for your hospitality and quick feedback.

Great cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing weekend at the cottage. The wood stove kept the main and upper floor warm until morning. We used the heater downstairs and it was warm and comfy there too.

Let Kirk know about the DVD and TV problems and he's fixing that. TV satellite still worked but no movies. Renters with kids may be a bit disappointed if they expect to watch a few movies, so needed to mention that.

Great cottage with a beautiful view of the frozen lake.

Kirk's the best host I've dealt with and I've rented a lot the last 10 years.

He called me while I was driving up there to make sure we weren't lost.

Thanks again and all the best!

Owner's Response: Jeffs group had a fantastic time. There was 3 feet of snow, the lake was safe to venture onto with 10" of ice thickness and the weather was unseasonably warm on this particular weekend. I appreciated the feedback on the DVD players not working, as I do not normally check these when we clean there. I have purchased a new one and a set of new cables for the other one. All good now. See you again Jeff. Cheers! Kirk and Krista Horsfield.

Exactly the getaway we hoped for!

  • 4 of 5

A quiet place by the lake, trails/roads to hike and a cosy house with plenty of space and beds!

The Wood stove kept us warm and the cottage feeling was enjoyed. We had all the basics needed and Kirk was great with messages and questions etc. Neighbours we saw were friendly too. The only suggestion we can make is be prepared for limited cell service in the house and a winding road to get here (I was glad it was daylight driving in the snowy conditions). We definitely recommend this place!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review! We continue to learn about guests needs versus costs and providing wifi seasonally is not viable. Cell service is a bit spotty and standing out on the deck is the best spot to make your calls. Feedback is appreciated, thanks for taking the time. Hosts; Kirk and Krista Horsfield.
