About Lone Hubner
I am the Danish owner of the property. We have lived on the Cote d'Azur since 2000, 'we' are my husband and our two girls.
Lone Hubner purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Lone Hubner chose Grasse
You will feel absolutely special. As it is a very Unique Mansion built after the 1900 it has the Greatness of a Castle and Charm of the Victorian villas you also can find in Paris. It has a unspoiled 270 degree view from dawn to dusk. We love it, and I am certain you will too.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is equipped with all you need, beautiful bathrooms, the best beds made up with crisp linen in real duvets. Fluffy towels. Wifi, HiFi, Apple TV, Sonos, Gaz BBQ, Quooker ...... The garden with its stunning heated pool and unbelievable views, Pool house, lemon trees, fig trees, rosemaries and so much more. The location of the villa gives you the choose to enjoy peace and zen one day or go running in the forest along the edge with more amazing views the next. Or just pop into Grasse for a cafe and lunch. Or of course take a trip to some of many fantastic places most within just a few minuts drive.

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. The property was amazing, the views spectacular. The home is beautiful and the outdoor spaces are perfect. We found this home to be extremely comfortable. Each room has a unique style. We just happened to be there during one of the weekends of the international fireworks competition in Cannes and enjoyed the show from the outdoor patio. Grasse is a lovely town and this home was a great jumping point to visit Cannes, Monaco, Eze and many other places in the French Rivera. The property manager was so very helpful and very accommodating. We loved our time in Grasse!
Great property, stunning decor with superb views!
Absolutely spectacular. The views are out of this world and the house is pure quality!
There is no question that this is one of the finest houses in Grasse- nearly every window or seating area provides a vista of the French Riviera like no other. The house is finished to an incredibly high standard and the fact that a push of one button electronically closed all shutters meant it was safe at night and when we were out. Of course being so high means that it's a little walk to the shops, but the fact that it backed onto a state forest meant there were awesome trails for walks with the family or a lovely jog for my wife and I. Ideal for 6 people. We'll definitely be back!
Clean, beautifully decorated, somewhat remote.
The home was perfect. Lone was easily available. The pool area and deck space, including the amazing view, were all excellent and enjoyable. I gave the home 4 stars and not 5, simply because we typically enjoy walking to local coffee shops and grocers etc. We found the town of Grasse to be lacking (good for a day, no need to stay). Of course the house and the view were so nice that we ended up making coffee at the house and enjoyed more of a house holiday (as opposed to an in town holiday). My advice would be to know how you want to holiday (stay in, cook, swim- pool was chilly- and enjoy the view- excellent holiday for sure! Vs do you want to enjoy the local towns? So 4 stars because the house was a little remote. We had a car (a must) and we did see some towns nearby (cute but seen in an hour), but the main attractions for some might be Cannes or Nice. And driving into those towns was a traffic nightmare so best to stay very close to those towns if those are you main attractions. We drove to St Paul de Vence and that was an excellent half day trip. No complaints other than location.
I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at my villa. And I am sorry you were disappointed about the Cote d'Azur, most gets addicted to it here ;-) Driving and roads are definitely very different to Canada's infrastructure. 16 km from Cannes with only 3 km drive to the highway - remote? not on the Cote d'Azur.
A really nice house - my family and I loved it.
Grasse is the mother village for all the perfumes in the world that we know of today - it is here it all started, includes the famous Chanel No 5 where the flowers are collected on the hillside of Grasse. There is so much History in Grasse: From Napoleon marched with his tropes through Grasse, you can follow in his footprints on Route de Napoleon. The Rothschild family enjoyed staying in Grasse together with friends and family in the various castles - and they lived in our villa too. Queen Victoria stayed at her Victoria Castle. You will find some of the worlds best shopping along with the beautiful beaches in Cannes. The amazing nature of Provence with the beaches, mountains, lakes, trekking path through areas you would not believe existed. On Cote d'Azur you will also find the most beautiful sandy beaches where you can eat lunch or dinner with your feet in the sand. From the villa you have the stunning sea views all the way from Monaco to Esterel Mountains. The Villa was built for the Duke of Valence and later the holiday home for Alice de Rothschild. Villages surrounding Grasse: Valbonne, Mougins, Cannes, Nice, Antibes. For a night out you can go to Monaco for a lovely dinner or party and gamble.
