Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Collioure

Beautifully presented 1st floor accommodation in the heart of the old town

This luxury 1st floor apartment with wi-fi internet access in the heart of the old town just 30 paces from the beach has been recently renovated to a very high standard with a luxury fitted kitchen & bathroom, flat screen TV & remote control air con/heating. Through the large double windows you can see the old stone archway leading to the beach.

Those who are fortunate enough to know Collioure will be able to picture its location midway between 'Petit Cafe' and 'La Tambourine' in one of the lovely narrow streets seconds from the Plage Boramar between the Chateau Royal and the Eglise Notre Dame [the towns landmark]. The old town boasts streets full of character, fun, vibrancy & colour. Staying at this appartment allows you to sense the heartbeat & savour the atmosphere. It has one bedroom but can easily accommodate 4 with a double bed settee & possibility for another single bed in the living area. It's a must see town; beaches, shops, art studios at every turn, restaurants, sights, smells and sounds to die for.

Central Appartment, lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Having received a warm welcome from Rennes, the local artist who looks after the apartment, we had a wonderfully relaxing week in this lovely, well equipped apartment. It is located perfectly in the centre of Collioure, just a few steps from the middle, and stoniest of the three main beaches. We tended to go to the beaches on either side of it and our favourite was the lovely sandy beach on the other side of the Chateau Royale, a mere 5 minute walk away.

There are many excellent restaurants and bars all around the apartment, San Vincens was our favourite.

Collioure itself is a beautiful, historic fishing village, so very interesting to wander around when not on the beach.

All in all, a lovely apartment in a picture perfect location. I know we will be back.

Picture-perfect apartment & location

Fantastic little apartment in a picturesque, bustling town. We stayed during the busiest time of the year, so the streets were packed from 10am-9pm but the street which the apartment overlooks was quieter than most. Double-glazed windows and airconditioning meant we could sleep OK even with festivities continuing outside.

My husband and I stayed here for the first two weeks in September. The location in the heart of Collioure is second to none. One is literally steps away from the beach (lovely but very stony, bring beach shoes) and all of the great shops, market etc. Shopping is a five minute walk to Carrefour for essentials with a lovely bakery just around the corner from Rue Riere. Collioure itself is wonderful. This is our third visit and we just love everything about it! A high point of our stay was experiencing Dejeuner sur l'herbe on Rue de la Fraternite. A lovely little local festival.

The apartment itself was clean and well kept. There is a spacious kitchen/dining room, 1 small bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The bedroom didn't provide a wardrobe although the rail provided was adequate for a holiday. The apartment was well stocked with anything one would require .Wi fi (small fee payable) was excellent but the tv seemed to have a life of it's own and in the end we didn't use it. Sizewise the apartment was fine for 2 people but I personally wouldn't fancy having 4 in it. The caretakers were very nice, friendly people. Our personal favourites for restaurants were Le Tremail, Chez Simone and Paco although really one is spoiled for choice. I would recommend this apartment for a peaceful relaxing break.

Nice, well appointed apartment in the very heart of Collioure just a few steps from the Mediterranean Sea. The local contact, Rennes, who has an art studio nearby was a delightful character who encouraged me go back to a long neglected hobby of oil painting. Collioure is a magical and colourful village, the quintessential Mediterranean retreat. We highly recommend this apartment.

Fantastic apartment in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday in this superbly appointed apartment in the heart of this amazing unspoiled French town. We flew to Carcassonne and travelled down to this coastal town. It is full of artisan shops and local crafts. The apartment itself was well presented and in good condition. The location is second to none and only 50 metres to the beach. In summary we had a fantastic holiday and look forward to returning again soon.

Missing Collioure already

  • 5 of 5

As newcomers to Collioure, my partner and I stayed in this apartment for a week in early June and absolutely loved it. The apartment itself is lovely with all the amenities you need (including beach towels and all the kitchen essentials) and everything was in great condition and very clean. The couple who look after the apartment are helpful and friendly and did their best to make sure that our stay was enjoyable.

As one of the benefits of renting an apartment is that you can cook your own meals, we took advantage of the incredible fresh vegetables, fruit and cheese at the farmer’s market on Wednesday morning. Another good thing to do if you don't fancy a restaurant is to buy a takeaway pizza and bottle of wine from one of the local wine shops, and then pop out for post-dinner drinks at the tiny piano bar down the street. All the shop and restaurant owners know each other and the vibe around the apartment is friendly and relaxed.

Highlights for us: the hike to Fort Saint Elme, exploring all the shops and art galleries, and drinks (Sangria with Banyuls!) in the evening at one of the many bars and restaurants overlooking the beach. There was also a wine festival taking place the week we were there – an extra bonus. We would definitely stay here again, and hope to in the near future!

Collioure is well known to be the most beautiful town in one of the most beautiful areas in the south of France. It has 4 beaches to choose from of various types, from soft sand to clean shingle. It is a small but lively town with a majestic castle, top class restaurants, artists studios, wine cellars, clothes & other unusual charming shops. Its narrow streets are a delight to walk through because of their charm and colour.

There are many walks around the area and many interesting places to drive. The lovely coast road south to Spain winds its way from Collioure through the other coastal towns to the border. Activities apart from walking include sailing, fishing, diving, cycling, tennis, nightclubbing at the famous Indigo, as well as water sports at nearby Argeles or white water rafting in the Pyrenees. Or just relax on the beach or in one of the beach side cafes. Once you have been to Collioure you are certain to return there many times. It is simply the nicest wee place in the world.

Other Activities: street theatre and dancing.
