Quaint and quiet escape from reality
The cabin has been beautifully renovated, and was such a welcome retreat for our family of four (2 adults and 2 elementary age kids). The cabin has all the amenities you could need, and the yard has many fire pits/sitting areas to enjoy. We were even able to view the meteor shower from the back driveway area. The owners have thought of everything, and were easy to contact. They want you to feel very much at home during your stay. It is a quiet, peaceful oasis in the woods.
The private beach area, on Lake Michigan is a short, easy walk away. Our family enjoyed the lake several times. Kayaks, canoes, and sand toys are all available for use. There are also a couple of public beach areas just a a few minutes drive away from the cabin.
The location is a great jumping off point to day trips to Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Pond Hill Farm, or head north to the State Park and Leggs Inn Restaurant. The owners had many suggestions for places to visit and restaurants to try out. The Good Hart General Store is minutes away, and will have all the necessities you need. The stores next to it were fantastic for finding unique gifts or treasure to take home. There was even an amazing crepe food truck that my kids fell in love with.
We had a fantastic week long stay, and highly recommend this cabin for a chance to recharge and get off the grid for a bit.
Cabin is a gem on the best beach in MI!
This cozy cabin is a gem and we enjoyed a delightful stay at the end of August. The cabin has everything you need - the beach which is just a short walk away (maybe a block, our young boys could make the trek back and forth by themselves) there are walking trails and plenty of stocked wood to make fires and toast s’mores! This stretch of beach has been a family favorite of ours since my childhood and you won’t regret the beauty, peace, and most magnificent sunsets. In the evenings we played cards and our boys enjoyed the Lincoln Logs and other boardsgames - they didn’t even notice or ask for the TV - We love Goodhart and hope to revisit this cabin again next summer!
Quiet getaway, close to lake and many activities.
Cabin was perfect for our getaway. There was plenty of space for our family of seven and a quick walk to Lake Michigan.
Very clean and cute! Definitely would go back! It had everything we needed!
Everything We Could Have Asked for and More
This is an ideal property for those looking to truly get away. Our family loved the log home and all that it offered. Well maintained and the owners were fast to respond with any questions we had for them. The beach was a short walk away and many days we were the only people there. Great fire pit for night time relaxation and plenty of space for the kids to run around. We enjoyed our drive to town through the tunnel of trees and spent some time at the local winery/farm where we took a family yoga class overlooking the surrounding area. We continue to talk about this trip and how relaxing it was for everyone. Would recommend this property for those in need of good relaxation and family time.
Up North Escape
Great stay in a beautiful, peaceful, remote location away from the up north hustle and bustle. Owners were extremely helpful, attentive, and gave wonderful tips about activities and amenities. My kids loved being so close to the beach and walking through the beautiful woods a short path for long, relaxing days just hanging out and enjoying being on summer time. Serene surroundings to explore. We had perfect campfire nights, alone time playing in the Lake Michigan waves, tried our our new tree hammock, went on an amazing fishing trip, visited nearby attractions, and ate the best cookies imaginable at the local general store. Appreciated the stay and the time away!
