Perfect location to discover Umbria!
We were 2 couples during ten days in the middle of June. From the start, Natasha, the property manager was very helpful to guide us to the apartment and answer all of our questions. Mind you, one of us spoke Italian! Thank god for the pool right there on site, so refreshing! The accommodations are bright, airy and private. Basic kitchen with a mini fridge requiring to shop on a daily basis or go to the restaurant. By the way we recommend Coccorone and Re-Tartu!
You will reach all the nice cities between 15 and 45 minutes of driving, and the valley is beautiful!
Great apartment and location
Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed all that Montefalco and the surrounding areas had to offer. Lots of wineries and sites to see and we were able to live like a local for a week in this beautiful region of Italy. The only recommendation I have would be to verify with the owner ahead of your stay if there will be access to the pool. We booked this placed based off the pool photos and courtyard being available and it was not when we checked in. The owner did make another pool available to us at a different property but it was not the experience we were hoping for. Other than that our stay was perfect and the property manager was very accommodating even with our language barrier.
Thank you Mollee for your kind words for our property Benozzo apartment. I am glad to know you liked your stay in Montefalco and in our apartment. Sorry for the problem of the pool but also today. June the 23d, the pool is open but is a week that is raining a lot; 10 degrees down and it seems Autumn! I am sure you liked the other pool and you enjoied your stay and your holidays. Best regards and ciao, Francesco.
Could be so much better
The apartment was well located in the village but like so many others, we had an awful time finding it. When I finally located our greeter, she was less than helpful and impatient. She speaks only Russian and Italian - no English whatsoever. The apartment was lacking, especially in the kitchen - single cup stovetop percolator, utensils in a plastic bin on the floor unsealed, freezer didn't work etc. There were absolutely no instructions in the apartment that were in English - Italian only, except for the last line encouraging us to give them a great review. There was no internet or television, even though we contacted the owner and he promised to have it fixed. There was an ironing board but no iron, hair dryer did not the proper adapter, the tile was falling off the shower, pot light were burnt out. The outdoor garden was overgrown and all the walkways were covered in moss, making it a very slippery walk. The pool was not open even though the weather was great. Francesco finally showed up late on our last of 5 days and was rather arrogant. He thought he could give us a tour of his "palace" to make amends.
Dear Nancy, here in Italy we say that "the world is beautiful because it is varied" and you are the proof of this variety: in many years of activity (more than ten) you are the first person to send such a negative review. Another proverb: try it to believe! It will be enough, in fact, that you read the many reviews we have for our apartments. Specifically: 1) the "well-leased" apartment is not like "many others" being the only one with the garden and the swimming pool in the center of the village. It is very easy to find it: small country with very few facilities inside. The lady who welcomed you does not speak English very well (absolutely true but, it is not a fault) and is very kind and knows how to be understood well. The pool is open from the second half of June because until that time the wether is not good in the Apennines: it can rain and it is still cold. 2) crockery are in a plastic container; not on the floor, but on the sink. The refrigerator works normally while the freezer is not there because for short periods we did not consider it necessary. But, we like advice and suggestions and we will do that. 3) Our apartments are equipped with TV (even with satellite for foreign guests) and internet: it can happen that due to bad weather the signal has problems. The apartments are equipped with iron and the relative table. The hair dryer does not need any adapter ... it is necessary to use it and not hair dryer that could have a different grip compared to the Italian ones. 4) When it rains, it can create moss on the bricks of the garden-floor that disappears immediately after the end of the rain. 5) I often let guests visit my house (a Renaissance Palace) who show to like the visit; but ... "the world is beautiful because it is varied". Anyway, I am sorry you didn't like your stay in our apartment. Best wishes, Francesco.
This apartment is excellent for 2 X adults and 3 children. Smack bang in the middle of town, warm, secure and full of character. Recommended...
Thank you Paul for your kind review. I am happy to know you liked Montefalco and our apartment. I hope also you will represent our apartments in Montefalco to your friends. We also hope you will return and taste again our wine and our beautiful town. Best regards and ciao, Francesco.
Spacious, private, and beautiful lodging in heart of lovely medieval Montefalco
We loved our lodging in Montefalco, both because the Benozzo apartment and its terrace were lovely and because the town was a wonderful, charming, and quiet place to stay for visiting Umbria. The apartment is restored space true to the medieval roots of the building and town; it is very nicely furnished, clean, secure, private, and well-appointed. We discovered two really good restaurants - Foresteria Alzatura and Coccorone, each a short walk from the apartment. The first was particularly good, with outstanding, original dishes. I recommend that the traveler get clear directions in advance from the host about how and where to meet, with a good pdf map of Montefalco and the location of the gate and apartment. There are four gates (Portas) to this tiny town with some very narrow streets and sharp turns. GPS alone may not get you to the right spot. Once we figured it out, we had no problem using this spot as a jumping off point to visit other locations in Umbria. We would strongly recommend it.
Thank you Denise for your kind words. I am happy to know you liked Montefalco and our apartments (Benozzo is your) and I apreciate also your recommendations. Hooping to have you again in L'ARCO ROMANICO apartments, ciao from Montefalco, Francesco.
