Great location and convenient

The apartment was clean and nice to utilize the kitchen for morning coffee and have use of the refrigerator. Most of the lights are overhead and bright so would recommend some lamps by the sofa and chairs. The microwave did not appear to be working well-buttons were difficult to push. Also, it was fairly quiet since it was on a side street with not much traffic even with construction going on with the building next door on the corner.

We will stay here again!

Fabulous!

Perfectly located and very quiet. Everything we needed to enjoy our week in the city. We can't wait to come back! We had a few questions and the owner responded via email quickly and always helpful. Could not have had a better stay!

Great location, nice space, poorly maintained

The night before I was to fly to NYC (in the morning), the contact agent hadn't provided information on how to access the property. This was resolved with an urgent note from me, but this unsettling note should have been an indication. Upon arrival, a rather unhappy superintendent showed up with a key at the front door to the building. I had called him 20minutes before arrival as directed by the agent and, at the super's request, when I was a couple of blocks away. I guess that my standing in the cold in a strange vestibule for 5 minutes didn't seem to matter. He showed up and handed me the key...didn't even open the front door for me with my two bags in hand. When I walked into the space, it seemed fine. However, three of the four lightbulbs in the bathroom were out, the blinds in the bedroom were broken, the bi-fold closet door was off the tracks, several pieces of flatware were dirty and when I moved the tray holding the flatware to a more accessible location, the crumbs /debris under the tray could have provided a meal. The next morning, I alerted the agent who sent over the cleaning person and the super. The lightbulbs were fixed but the blinds and door were left as they were. Two different times during my six-day stay, the agent needed to show the property to a prospective tenant. Only one appointment came through, but that gave me an indication of why the place was so poorly maintained: they are looking for a long-term rental. The agent, Lara was unfailingly friendly in her emails/texts -- lots of enthusiasm and exclamation points. She also credited me $100 on my 6-day stay as a courtesy for cleaning compensation. Too bad the place wasn't better prepared for me. I don't really like to have to accommodate superintendent's repairs, cleaning people, and rental agent showings -- all of which should have been taken care of before I rented. Also, if you are going to have "house rule," establish them up front, not after I arrive at the property. Too bad, as this is a good location near the subway, food stores, restaurants, shopping, etc.

Owner's Response: Dear Veronica, I would like to apologize again for the inconvenience and would like to stress the fact that personnel was in the unit very next morning to take care of the issues. We had a long term guest before you and they did not notify us, again I am terribly sorry! I would also like to offer another perspective, that you paid half of the regular rate, best for $50 more would be a motel 2 avenues further away with shared bathroom and kitchen. We are affordable and responsive, and we have a lot of repeat guests. I hope after all you enjoyed the privacy and quietness of the apartment while you stayed in it and I hope you have better luck with your next host in NYC!

GREAT STAY

My wife & I stayed here for 41 days recently, and although there was a little construction noise from the building next door, Laura got right on it, stopped the noise, and we enjoyed a peaceful stay thereafter. Great location, beautiful apartment, even meet several really nice visitors who were in town on vacation staying in the building. Quality place with great response time from Laura who manages the property. On site superintendent was also an unexpected pleasure, and was quite helpful with problems like burnt out light bulbs and TV signal loss. We've stayed in other places around Union Square that were nightmares; you will have wonderful dreams in this quiet third floor walk-up. A real treat. Laura is the best!

Just what we were looking for....and more!!

My husband and I visited New York city for the first time in late October. Lara's apartment was wonderful, she supplied us with all the relevant information and the key collection and drop off was easy and secure . The apartment was exactly how it is depicted in the photos, very colorful and spacious, it was very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. It is much bigger than it looks in the photo's with very high ceiling and several sky lights. The bath 'Jacuzzi'' was wonderful after long tiring days walking, as was the extremely comfortable bed. The apartment was very quiet and the two floor to climb was not a problem, even with our back and feet ailments! The location couldn't have been better, very close to the subway and excellent wine and food shops just round the corner. The Union Square farmers market was a bonus, beautiful produce; breads, fruit, vegetables and so much more! (we even witnessed a cop show being filmed!). The location suited us as it was very close to Greenwich Village where we visited the famous Cafe Wha!, the Gaslight Club (now the 'up and up') and the White Horse pub, as part of our Bob Dylan pilgrimage. It wasn't too arduous to walk to uptown Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn, even though the subways are very convenient. All in all this was to us a perfect visit to New York and Lara's apartment made us feel and live like true 'New Yorkers'. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this apartment to friends, family and colleagues and would stay again, if we were lucky enough to do so, on our next New York visit. great location, quiet apartment

Great location in midtown manhattan right by Union Square. Even so the apartment is quiet (in back). Clean, pleasant and well appointed place. Good sized lounge/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom quite small but hey this is manhattan.

Lara was efficient and helpful.
