Ideal for groups of families/friends for skiing or summer holidays. The top floor apartments has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, sleeping up to 16. Just 5 minutes walk to the funicular for the Haute Nendaz lift station and close to a good selection of bars, excellent restaurants and shops. Visit penthouse-nendaz.com for a full description. The inspiring living space has a vaulted ceiling and panoramic windows to beautiful mountain views. Includes 2 comfy seating areas, 2 TVs/music, dining tables and open plan kitchens (option to divide into 2 rooms), plus front balcony and 2 roof terraces. 4 double bedrooms on the main floor, including 2 with an additional double bed partitioned off (ideal for children) and 2 twin mezzanine rooms (upstairs with vaulted ceiling, best for young people). Part of the extensive 4 valleys ski area you have good ski access to Verbier, Veysonnaz, Thyon -either ski from Nendaz or drive to Siviez (20 minutes drive, free parking). You have direct access to the heated indoor swimming pool and sauna. Own lockable boot/bike room (heated boot warmers) and designated covered parking.

Outside: The apartment has 4 designated parking places in prime positions (closest to indoor doors), 2 of these are undercover. The swimming pool is on the first floor and is accessible via the internal lift. The pool is about 20m long and loungers are provided on a sun terrace which has beautiful mountain views. There is also a sauna/steam room. In front of the apartment, there is a public playground for children and also a para-ponting landing area which provides entertaining views from the apartment. In winter, there is also a great sledging slope in front of the apartment (sledges/bum boards provided).

Nightlife: Nendaz has an abundance of very good quality restaurants available within easy walking distance of the apartment. These cover a variety of cuisines including those offering local specialities as well as Sardinian, French and other alternatives. A number of these restaurants are recommended in the Red Michelin Guide . There are also a variety of lively bars and good apres ski. In the ski season, the local ice-skating rink is a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. In the summer there are a number of festivals -see Nendaz Tourist Web Site for details. A great advantage of the apartment is that it is very close to the centre of Nendaz but in a quiet location.

The apartment has two large terraces with different aspects both with wonderful views across the mountains. There is also a covered balcony with its own spectacular views which runs along the front of the apartment. Tables and chairs are available for al fresco dining on the terraces, together with a BBQ and additional garden furniture (not available in ski season).

Summertime: Nendaz is a wonderful location for a summer holiday, an area of breathtaking scenery with forests and mountain lakes in abundance. There are 250 kms of signposted paths for walkers and cyclists. Particularly lovely are the easy walks along the 8 Bisses (98km of paths which run alongside the ancient water channels). There are a wide variety of activities available in addition to walking and cycling: golf,volleyball, climbing, para-ponting, tennis, horse riding are all available locally. Also a fabulous outdoor swimming pool within 3 minutes walk of the apartment. There are great excusions e.g. Sion, Montreux, thermal baths (e.g. Saillon), Lac Souterrain, Adventure Parks,vineyards. Both Sion and Nendaz have weekly street markets with a variety of stalls selling local foodstuffs & gifts. There are a number of events of regional importance, with strong local involvement, creating a rich atmosphere. Note: the lockable ground floor room is ideal for storing bikes, golf clubs etc

Wonderful relaxed vacation in high class apartment

We were group of 4 families with kids booked 2 identical penthouse apartments for 5 nights, which was connected via living room. The apartment is well maintained with top class amenities (Sauna, swimming pool, plenty of kitchen utensils, kids games etc.,). 4 bedrooms had en-suite providing plenty of privacy. We had bit of struggle reaching the apartment due to closure of access street due to local festival, but the caretaker was promptly assisted us to locate the place. Caretaker was kind enough to explain the facilities, even though the details of the facilities were provided as a document, well before the arrival. The apartment is situated closer to wonderful picturesque valley with plenty of walking routes. Supermarket, pharmacy and plenty of restaurants are in walking distance. However, please bear in mind anything you buy in Swiss (in general) is very costly, so it is worth carrying the trip items as as much as possible.

Excellent in Winter for skiing, and just as good in Summer for sun-bathing and lazing about in 32C. The peaceful location, excellent facilities and a fabulous vista made a lasting impression on the first timers; as did the pool and the PS3 for the youngsters. Truly disappointed when we had to leave but would certainly recommend to all. Only 5 of us this time so there was loads of room.

Nearby supermarkets and occasional restaurant visits supplemented everything we needed whilst using the penthouse as a base for visiting events around Lake Geneva.

Super place for a summer holiday in the mountains

We had a wonderful stay in the penthouse....the summer weather was glorious - we spent long afternoons sunbathing on the terrace and very pleasant evenings either having a BBQ at home or eating at one of the many wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance. We did a couple of fantastic walks in the mountains and swam both in the outdoor and indoor pools. Staying so close to the Italian border, we decided to hop over to Lake Maggiore for a couple of days which was wonderful and the scenery driving over the Simplon Pass was magnificent. The highlight for the children was a trip to the tree top adventure park in Crans Montana....well worth a visit. Nendaz is a very lovely mountain village and the Penthouse, with its magnificent views all around, is the perfect place to stay. It's very well equipped, spacious and spotlessly clean. We are very likely to return to enjoy another holiday there.

Great place for a family Summer holiday!

This was our fourth stay in this lovely apartment - twice for family skiing (highly recommended) and twice in Summer. It is a great spot for hiking or biking. There are mountain lifts or postbuses to take you all over the 4 Valleys or you can walk along the lovely "Bisses" (irrigation channels). We used the pool every day and soaked up the sun on the adjoining terrace or in the privacy of one of the roof terraces (lus BBQ!). Local restaurants are gerat and you can walk to them, the bars and shops in a matter of minutes. The apartment has everything you could possibly think of and is very comfortable, bright and airy. The views are superb!! We hope to be back!

Great stay in Nendaz

We (3 families with kids) had a really pleasant stay at the penthouse. The living room is really spacious, there's a nice swimming pool and housekeeper was really friendly. And the ski lifts at an easy 10 min walk. What else could you ask for.

excellent vacation spot for large family

This penthouse really is fantastic. This was our first family vacation in Europe (as opposed to the national parks in the USA). None of us had ever been to Switzerland before and we chose this rental almost at random. It proved to be a wonderful choice. The penthouse is two large apartments which comfortably held 12 adults and two small children. At no time did we feel we were on top of each other. The double kitchen made preparing family meals easy. The apartments are quite spacious, the bathrooms were plentiful (and large). There is an elevator in the building that eliminates all steps. The penthouse was spotless when we arrived. We also had no idea what to expect from the actual town. It is located well up the mountain and the views are lovely. The two supermarkets are a five minute walk away and have everything you might need, as well as bakeries and restaurants (which we did not try). The tourist office is also five minutes away - an excellent source for things to do in the area. It takes about fifteen minutes to get off the mountain, but once you are down, the highway is right there, giving excellent access to everything from Montreux to Zermatt. The hiking in the area is superb, with lots of trails starting right around the town. And in addition to everything else, the owners were very easy to deal with. We highly recommend this rental.

The resort of Nendaz is at the centre of Switzerland's Four Valleys. It is less than 2 hours drive from Geneva or 20-30 minutes drive from Sion and can also be accessed by train to Sion, then bus to Nendaz. In the winter it provides you with around 412km of pistes across the mountains of Verbier, Siviez, Thyon and Veysonnaz. The resort is at 1365m-3330m and has an excellent snow record. Nendaz is a rare blend of family friendly slopes, spectacular scenery, challenging mogul runs and off-piste free-riding (Beginner 35%, Intermediate 50%, Expert 15%). In the summer the mountains are just as beautiful and offer an equally extensive network of hiking and mountain bike trails, also more gentle walks along the ancient Bisses. The apartment is next to the sports/leisure facilities and only a short walk to the shops (2 supermarkets just 5 minutes walk plus specialist food shops), restaurants (35), bars (7), clubs (3). In winter it is just 10 minutes walk to the Tracouet telecabine.

Other Activities: Children play area and sports field next to the apartment block. Within 5 minutes walk: ice skating, para-panting, indoor and outdoor (summer) pools

Golf: The Golf Club in Sion golf is only 20 minutes by car from Nendaz. Located in the the heart of the Rhone valley, its 18-hole course benefits from a sunny and warm climate. The Club Sion organises initiation courses for beginners and these include instruction by a golf professional, equipment (for rental) as well as an aperitif! Guests staying in Nendaz are able to buy their green fees at the local tourist office at a special rate.

Ski: Nendaz is in the middle of the extensive 4 Valleys ski area, which includes Verbier, Siviez, Thyon, and Veysonnaz and provides fantastic skiing for all levels of skiier. It has an excellent snow record. At 3,300m, the Mont Fort symbolises the peak of the 4-Valleys domain which has 412km of pistes and offers excellent skiing for all levels (beginner 35%, intermediate 50%, expert 15%). The Tracouet lift is just a 10 minute walk and at the top of this lift is the nursery/beginner area in an attractive setting. There are several ski schools and significant discounts for child ski passes. There is a choice of buying a ticket to ski just in Nendaz or one that gives access to the whole area. The lifts at Siviez are only 15 minutes by car or free ski bus and offer excellent access for skiing to Verbier, Thyon or Veysonnaz. Alternatively it is 30 minutes to Veysonnaz by car. Nendaz has the “Families Welcome” accreditation. Exclusive within the block, we provide a lockable boot room.

  • All bathrooms are on the first floor and are furnished in a contemporary style with storage space. 4 of the bathrooms are en suite and 2 seperate bathrooms close to the living room serve the upstairs rooms. The 2 full bathrooms (with both bath and shower) are ensuite to the family rooms (can sleep up to 4). Other bathrooms have enclosed showers. The whole apartment has underfloor heating and all bathrooms additionally have heated electric towel rails. In addition to large mirrors over the sinks there are magnified mirrors (with light). Towels and bath mats are provided. Adult dressing gowns are provided for bathroom and swimming pool. The heated indoor swimming pool is accessed via an internal lift, so you can change and go down in your dressing gown or alternatively there is a changing area with hot showers provided.

  • There is sleeping accommodation for up to 16 people in 6 rooms -note that some rooms have low ceilings. On the main floor there are 2 double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms and 2 family rooms with ensuite bathrooms plus 1 double bed separated by a partition of built in wardrobes and sliding doors (large double bed on floor). There are 2 twin rooms upstairs which have their own dedicated shower rooms situated at the bottom of the stairs. There is restricted headroom/sloping roof in the partitioned area of the family rooms and also the upstairs twin rooms and therefore these rooms are mainly suitable for children. All rooms have ample storage space and all have a hairdryer. The twin rooms are both equipped with a TV monitor, DVD player (plus a PS3 Player in one). All beds have single duvets and the double beds are large/Queen sized. For smaller groups, it can be possible to book just 3 bedrooms in one of the apartments with the rates adjusted.

Large open plan living space has high vaulted ceilings & panoramic windows. It can be partitioned with sound-proofed doors. At both ends there are 2 comfortable sofas in front of a wood burning stove, plus HD LCD TVs with Sky satellite receivers, BluRay/DVD players. A selection of films & playing cards/board games is provided. In the central area there are 2 dining tables and chairs for 16 people. The 2 adjacent kitchens have Bauknecht appliances, each have: electric fan oven. hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, filter coffee maker, fondues, table grill. Kiitchens are fully equipped for easy self catering (includes large pans, cooking dishes). Guests will have access (internal lift) to the laundry room with washing machine (coin meter) and a dryer (free-no meter). As well as a ski locker there is a separate lockable room for other outdoor equipment e.g. boots, bikes & includes heated boot warmers. The 2 designated undercover parking spaces & 2 outdoor parking spaces are in prime position.
