About the property

Self catering for skiing & summer. Indoor swimming pool. Convenient location.

Ideal for groups of families/friends for skiing or summer holidays. An inspiring place to stay with vaulted ceilings and beautiful mountain views. A quiet location that is very convenient for skiing, walking and the excellent village facilities -just 5 minutes walk to the funicular for the Haute Nendaz lift station and access to the extensive 4 Valleys ski area.

For young children there are a nursery slope (new from season 17/18), sledding slope, nursery/daycare and play area directly in front of the apartment block. Nendaz has Family Accreditation with many other facilities for children.

For everyone there are a great selection of bars, restaurants, shops, sporting facilities and spa within easy walking distance.

You have direct access to the indoor heated pool (approx 20m long), sauna (all year) and pool terrace (summer only). We provide robes for the pool area and there are sun loungers. The pool area is on the 1st floor and accessed by internal lift.

The large living space has a vaulted ceiling and panoramic windows to beautiful mountain views. Includes 2 comfy seating areas, 2 TVs/music, dining tables and open plan kitchens (option to divide into 2 rooms), plus front balcony and 2 roof terraces. 4 double bedrooms on the main floor, including 2 with an additional double bed partitioned off (ideal for children) and 2 twin mezzanine rooms (upstairs with vaulted ceiling, best for young people).

Own lockable boot/bike room (heated boot warmers) and designated covered parking. The apartment has 4 designated parking places in prime positions (closest to indoor doors), 2 of these are undercover.

The apartment has two large terraces with different aspects, both with wonderful views across the mountains. There is also a covered balcony with its own spectacular views which runs along the front of the apartment. Tables and chairs are available for al fresco dining on the terraces, together with a BBQ and additional garden furniture (not available in ski season).

A great advantage of the apartment is that it is very close to the centre of Nendaz but in a quiet location. The village has everything you will need within easy walking distance. Well stocked Co op and Migros supermarkets are both within 5 minutes walk. If you don't want to cook there are an abundance of very good quality restaurants within a short walk. These cover a variety of cuisines including those offering local specialities as well as Sardinian, French and other alternatives. The Nendaz 4 Valleys Hotel with spa is next door and in the village there are a variety of lively bars and good apres ski. In the ski season, the local ice-skating rink is a few minutes walk. In the summer there are a number of festivals -see Nendaz Tourist Web Site for details.

Nendaz is in the middle of the extensive 4 Valleys ski area, which includes Verbier, Siviez, Thyon, and Veysonnaz and provides fantastic skiing for all levels of skiier. It has an excellent snow record. At 3,300m, the Mont Fort symbolises the peak of the 4-Valleys domain which has 412km of pistes and offers excellent skiing for all levels (beginner 35%, intermediate 50%, expert 15%). The funicular lift to the Tracouet gondola is just a 5 minute easy walk and at the top of Tracouet there is a nursery/beginner area in an attractive setting. From season 17/18 we will also have a nursery slope with childcare in front of our apartment, in addition to the existing sledding slope and play area that makes this a great location for families. There are several ski schools and significant discounts for child ski passes. See Nendaz Tourist site for information on ski passes, lessons and childcare. The lifts at Siviez are only 15 minutes by car or free ski bus and offer excellent access for skiing to Verbier, Thyon or Veysonnaz. Alternatively it is 30 minutes to Veysonnaz by car. Exclusive within the block, we provide a lockable boot room.

Nendaz is also a wonderful location for a summer holiday, an area of breathtaking scenery with forests and mountain lakes in abundance. There are 250 kms of signposted paths for walkers and cyclists. Particularly lovely are the easy walks along the 8 Bisses (98km of paths which run alongside the ancient water channels). There are a wide variety of activities available in addition to walking and cycling: golf,volleyball, climbing, para-ponting, tennis, horse riding are all available locally. Also a fabulous outdoor swimming pool within a short walk of the apartment. There are great excusions e.g. Sion, Montreux, thermal baths (e.g. Saillon), Lac Souterrain, Adventure Parks,vineyards. Both Sion and Nendaz have weekly street markets with a variety of stalls selling local foodstuffs & gifts. There are a number of events of regional importance, with strong local involvement, creating a rich atmosphere. Note: the lockable ground floor room is ideal for storing bikes, golf clubs etc

About Chris

I am one of the owners of Penthouse-Nendaz and organise the rental bookings. We are two families who enjoy skiing together and bought Penthouse-Nendaz in 2008 for family holidays. We still love holidaying there winter and summer, as have many families and groups who have rented with us

Why Chris chose Nendaz

An extensive and varied ski area and beautiful walks at other times of year. It is relatively easy to get to, whether flying to Geneva or driving (we usually drive from UK). Self catering is hassle free because the shops are close or we can easily eat out -we are very impressed by the standard of restaurants and bars.

The apartment is awe inspiring -the vaulted ceilings and panoramic windows with amazing views.

And it's great to have a swim or relax by the pool or in the sauna. So easy to change in the apartment, put on a dressing gown (provided) and take the lift down.

What makes this apartment unique

The resort of Nendaz is at the centre of Switzerland's Four Valleys. It is less than 2 hours drive from Geneva or 20-30 minutes drive from Sion and can also be accessed by train to Sion, then bus to Nendaz. In the winter it provides you with around 412km of pistes across the mountains of Verbier, Siviez, Thyon and Veysonnaz. The resort is at 1365m-3330m and has an excellent snow record. Nendaz is a rare blend of family friendly slopes, spectacular scenery, challenging mogul runs and off-piste free-riding (Beginner 35%, Intermediate 50%, Expert 15%). In the summer the mountains are just as beautiful and offer an equally extensive network of hiking and mountain bike trails, also more gentle walks along the ancient Bisses. The apartment is next to the sports/leisure facilities and only a short walk to the shops (2 supermarkets just 5 minutes walk plus specialist food shops), restaurants (35), bars (7), clubs (3). In winter it is just 5 minutes easy walk to the funicular lift that takes you to the Tracouet telecabine

Ideal for families with a sledging slope and children's play area to the front and side of the apartment block. A Nursery/Childcare centre is also located here accepting visitors children from 18 months to 6 years (apply to Nendaz Tourist Office). For season 2017/8 a moving carpet and Nursery slope will also be available here, so ideal for families with small children wanting beginner ski lessons and daycare on the doorstep. Also, within 5 minutes walk: ice skating, sports centre, sports field, para-ponting, indoor and outdoor (summer) pools

Golf: The Golf Club in Sion golf is only 20 minutes by car from Nendaz. Located in the the heart of the Rhone valley, its 18-hole course benefits from a sunny and warm climate. The Club Sion organises initiation courses for beginners and these include instruction by a golf professional, equipment (for rental) as well as an aperitif! Guests staying in Nendaz are able to buy their green fees at the local tourist office at a special rate.

  • All bathrooms are on the first floor and are furnished in a contemporary style with storage space. 4 of the bathrooms are en suite and 2 seperate bathrooms close to the living room serve the upstairs rooms. The 2 full bathrooms (with both bath and shower) are ensuite to the family rooms (can sleep up to 4). Other bathrooms have enclosed showers. The whole apartment has underfloor heating and all bathrooms additionally have heated electric towel rails. In addition to large mirrors over the sinks there are magnified mirrors (with light). Towels and bath mats are provided. Adult dressing gowns are provided for bathroom and swimming pool. The heated indoor swimming pool is accessed via an internal lift, so you can change and go down in your dressing gown or alternatively there is a changing area with hot showers provided.

  • There is sleeping accommodation for up to 16 people in 6 rooms -note that some rooms have low ceilings. On the main floor there are 2 double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms and 2 family rooms with ensuite bathrooms plus 1 double bed separated by a partition of built in wardrobes and sliding doors (large double bed on floor). There are 2 twin rooms upstairs which have their own dedicated shower rooms situated at the bottom of the stairs. There is restricted headroom/sloping roof in the partitioned area of the family rooms and also the upstairs twin rooms and therefore these rooms are mainly suitable for children. All rooms have ample storage space and all have a hairdryer. The twin rooms are both equipped with a TV monitor, DVD player (plus a PS3 Player in one). All beds have single duvets and the double beds are large/Queen sized. For smaller groups, it can be possible to book just 3 bedrooms in one of the apartments with the rates adjusted.

Notes:
Large open plan living space has high vaulted ceilings & panoramic windows. It can be partitioned with sound-proofed doors. At both ends there are 2 comfortable sofas in front of a wood burning stove, plus HD LCD TVs with Sky satellite receivers, BluRay/DVD players. A selection of films & playing cards/board games is provided. In the central area there are 2 dining tables and chairs for 16 people. The 2 adjacent kitchens have Bauknecht appliances, each have: electric fan oven. hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, filter coffee maker, fondues, table grill. Kiitchens are fully equipped for easy self catering (includes large pans, cooking dishes). Guests will have access (internal lift) to the laundry room with washing machine (coin meter) and a dryer (free-no meter). As well as a ski locker there is a separate lockable room for other outdoor equipment e.g. boots, bikes & includes heated boot warmers. The 2 designated undercover parking spaces & 2 outdoor parking spaces are in prime position.

Fantastic stay!

We were a group of 12 friends, a mix of couples and singles, and a baby. We stayed over the Aug 1 weekend, and couldn't have picked a better place!

The apartment is comfortable, spacious, and modern, and you basically have a 270 degree view of mountains from the windows. The location is great: easy access to walking trails (especially along the Bisses), grocery stores, and parks. We spent the weekend hiking, BBQing, and just relaxing enjoying the views.

One thing to note: the family rooms sleep 4, but there is only a thin partition between the beds. So there is some visual privacy but no sound isolation. It worked out for us, but just make sure you if you're sharing one of the family rooms, it's either with someone who doesn't snore, or that you're a deep sleeper!

Overall we had a lovely stay, and would definitely come back if we're back in the region. Thanks!

Elegant, comfortable apartment with amazing views

We just completed a wonderful two family summer vacation in the penthouse which is nice and spacious with plenty of bed options. The view is superb, the location is great, the pool is delightful and the owner could not be more helpful.

Brazilians amid a sea of snow!

The "extended" Costa family - all its 15 members - are now at home, back from their marvellous vacations in Switzerland.

We want also to inform you that your property - Domaine des Reines Esther apts 15 and 16 - fullfilled all our expectations. The acommodations were very comfortable to all of us, and every facility worked properly. This was affirmed by a very severe judgement - my wife´s! Finally, the beautiful sights and ski facilities offered by Haute-Nendaz were an important component of our satisfaction.

Best place ever for a large group

This was our 5th stay in the penthouse. We always travel with 4 families and the place is perfect for a group of families with kids:

- 2 kitchens, so plenty of space to cook

- 2 dining tables, so adults and kids can sit separate- together

- 2 living rooms, one for the kids to play ,one for the adults to talk or watch a movie

- enough room, bathrooms, to give every family enough privacy when needed

- 2 wonderful sunny terraces to enjoy the sun

Next to this, large warm enough pool, sauna

Close to the skilift, in front of the chalet there is a sleigh slope with lift for the small kids.

Everything in the penthouse is of top quality, and everything is there you could need to cook, play, watch movies, read, swim....

Chris is always fast is responding and can rely on a fantastic caretaker and his team in Nendaz.

Looking forward to our 6, 7, 8 ...th stay.

Awesome holiday for large family get together

Beautiful chalet apartment with spectacular views out over the mountains. A joy to sit and just appreciate the stunning setting. We all enjoyed the wonderful pool having a daily dip or some time relaxing in the sauna. A real treat after long walks in the mountains. Fantastically well equipped apartment with everything you could need for a big group. The towelling robes were a great touch for use whilst at the pool. Kids were mesmerised by the huge collection of dvd's and games , and all managed to get some screen time with one of the four televisions! A really wonderful place in a stunning part of the world. Thank you for all the preholiday info and advice too- really appreciated.

Cleaning, laundry and local tax are additional. Cleaning and laundry to be paid locally in cash (Swiss Francs) to the housekeeper as follows -
Cleaning charge for whole apartment= CHF 300
Laundry (bedding, towels, bath mats, dressing gowns) are charged per person = CHF 20 each person
Tourist Tax is per person day and will be deducted from the Security Deposit of £800 at the end of stay within 14 days = CH2.50 adult CH1.25 child - this will be recovered by the owners triggering a 'report damage option' to recover - no other deductions will be made/requested unless otherwise notified.
