The Space

Private 3 Bedroom Garden Apartment, 1 Bath, Stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, Ductless AC/Heat Climate control. A perfect combination of Modern and rustic design on the 1st floor (Garden Level) of a 2 family townhouse. Apartment was completely gut renovated November 2012 with a bran new kitchen and bathroom. Comes complete with all kitchen ware, linens, towels, Iron, coffee maker, and hairdryer, flatscreen cable TV, and WiFi. Sofa in living room folds out to a double bed. Queen bed in one bedroom and double beds in the 2 other private bedrooms. There is a large vegetable and herb garden behind this apartment where you are free to BBQ and relax and pick some weeds if your sightseeing schedule allows it. Only 3 blocks from the 39th Ave Subway stop on the N and Q yellow line which takes you into Midtown Manhattan in 7 minutes (2 subway stops)

All the basic amenities, plenty of space

The apartment that I rented was not the one that is shown in the pictures. Perhaps the pictures represent the upstairs apartment. Steffan did not get in touch with me to get the key-retrieval/entry information, so I had to contact him the night before my arrival. Fortunately, they responded promptly and getting into the apartment was no problem. The house is old and could use a re-vamp, the first floor tub did not drain properly, but other than that it was clean and comfortable and plenty of space for 9 people. I would suggest the owner spend a couple hundred dollars and put new knobs/locks on the doors. Not because they are unsafe as-is, but because they're a pain in the neck to open and close. The house is about a 4 minute walk (maybe less) to the 36th Ave. subway stop, which allowed us to quickly and easily move between Astoria and Manhattan. Overall a pretty good deal.

Disappointed

We booked this property for our stay for my sons wedding. We called before we left at 1:00 only to be notified that it was double booked. We were moved to another property with no gardens, tiny kitchen and tiny living room/dining area combo. The electricity went off while we were getting ready for the wedding due to too many extension cords😡

Misleading and Disappointing

The property is definitely not as seen in the photos, much older and the sofa bed is not comfortable. Maybe a good stay for a small family. The apartment is very small in comparison to the photos. Lots of clutter in the garden and neighbours upstairs and next door very noisy. The apartment is two story split and floorboards upstairs made if very difficult to sleep as everything was heard below. Very disappointed in this property.

Very comfortable, roomy, and convenient

We had a great stay. Steffan was very accommodating. We prepared a few meals in the kitchen, and the whole place was just great. Getting to Manhattan was a breeze. We'd love to stay again!
