Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Lower Manhattan - 1C

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, 5 Sleeps

***My calendar has been updated for late spring discounts!!! NYC in the spring is awesome! Please note the listing price is a starting rate. Summer rates are different*****

My beautiful apartment is located in the incredible East Village neighborhood. Ground floor that faces the back of the building and you have your own backyard. The first bedroom has a private entrance to the backyard and closet space. The second bedroom is very comfortable too with cable t.v. Please note the apartment has two true and separate bedrooms and a living room area all with TV, WiFi etc.

(update: upgraded the sheets, added extra towels and upgraded outdoor furniture)

The entire apartment has hardwood floors and the kitchen has granite counter tops with brand new fixtures. Sandy was rough but the renovation is beautiful:).

The neighborhood is fantastic with everything from boutique shops, restaurants, bars, parks, trails, river board walk all within walking distance. There are two bus lines that run by the building that take you crosstown and downtown. They both run all day long. The historic Tompkins square park is at the corner for your enjoyment. The park has a little something for everyone (grassy knoll, kids parks, dog parks, benches, sometimes free concerts)

Feel free to inquire and visit my home in NYC! Please note that some dates do cost more i.e. national holidays such as 4th of July, Memorial Day weekend etc. and the summer in general as it seems that when everyone wants to come to the city!!!:)"

I may be flexible for arrival or departure times however must be coordinated prior to arrival.

***non-smoking apartment however there is a private outdoor patio****

About Edard

I'm a hardworking and friendly New Yorker. I love to host guests and find pleasure in helping people get to know my wonderful city. I transplanted to NYC about 10 years ago and fell in love with the city the moment I arrived.

Why Edard chose Manhattan

My place is a true two bedroom apartment with plenty of room for everyone. I even have a private and exclusive patio with entrances directly from my apartment.

What makes this apartment unique

A large and private patio!!:) very rare in this part of the city.

Roomy, close to bars, close to a park

We had a nice stay here. Parking in front of the apartment is limited (but free!) but we were lucky and could park our rental here to unload. We received the key quickly and had no problem finding it. Other reviewer mentioned some 'smell'. We it was still noticeable and can probably be traced back to some freshly painted walls or some cleaning. However we got no headaches from it and it was not as bad as you may think. The beds, bath and kitchen were very clean. The beds in the two bedrooms are nice and comfy. The sofa in the living room can be foldout but beware, as the movable part is not attached to the bed and may slip. I would recommend only 1 person on the sofa at night.

The location is a bit far from the main Manhattan attractions, but an Uber is not more than 15$ to stuff like the Timesquare. We had a good sleep over here and thats what counts.

The apartment was comfortable and clean. Loved the back patio. Sitting out there first thing in the morning was nice. Conveniently located.

Lovely and cute

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this cute little spot! I brought 3 of my models from Mississippi so this was great for 4 people. The owners were super nice and very flexible with our arrival and departure times! My only complaint is that they need a new shower curtain. Other than that we thought it was perfect for our stay. I will recommend to my other models who are traveling up!

Great location

  • 2 of 5

The location of his basement apartment is in the heart of the east village. Any where you turn is either a cute pocket park, coffee or fabulous bar or bistro.

We were greeted at the door with a wonderful welcome . The building is very secure.

Our first impression was when entering the building the smell was awful. A chemical wash over mold, mildew and use... You walk thru a fire door to the basement down the stairs. The smell gets stronger. At the bottom of the stairs are 4 doors. Electrical. Superintendent and a creepy white door. The apartment has a few locks on it .

The apartment smelled very badly of the same odor as the upstairs entry but even stronger! The air conditioner was running in both rooms - very loud rattling. The aprtment was damp . The bathroom tile and ceiling moldy as well as the frail plastic shower curtain. The bathroom fan is ridiculously loud and covered in dust- barely works- and a few of the lightbulbs were out. No soap.

Once I turned off the Acs the air quality improved only slightly. The outdoors is a wasteland . Water drips from above hitting the door and AC unit . I was grateful for one small fan that I placed in the kitchen to circulate air as it was foul . The apartment is clean - the beds comfortable linens clean.

The smaller bedroom had cable wire loosely attached to a doorframe and cross cross by the Bed frame making it a trip hazard ( experienced). Also the window is like aThe master bed location is tight and be mindful you could stub your toe( experience) .

I guess for NYC this is the norm. Mold, is not.

I would recommend some deep cleaning in the bathroom and check the AC units for mold too and replace. Seriously try to work or Sleep w those things running and you will loose your mind or get sick.

Check you wood floors for water damage as they buckle and are spongy. Possible mold.

Kitchen is clean. Did not use.

The aprtment next door is under construction - just about everywhere is. Some ppl tend to hang out at night under that awning partying . Unsettling when trying to walk by. Street and front of building smells of urine .

Upgrade your outdoor space - that door you can't even leave open bc it doesn't close so bugs get in! It's warped from water damage.

The aprtment look perfect in the picture. Has so much potential!!

I should have walked out the minute I arrived .

Left my leather sandals there- don't want them back as they will smell like the rest of my luggage and clothing from that stay.

Good location and comfortable beds

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean when we arrived and had plenty of extra towels and bedding. Definitely not fancy, but it was a good location for us. It's a basement apartment so you will need to walk up a half flight of stairs, and then down a full flight of stairs to get to it. The basement outside the apartment is a bit dingy, but the apartment itself was fine.

The beds were very comfortable and even the pull out sofa was comfortable, which surprised us. The kitchen had a few essential tools and we were able to make some basic meals there (breakfast mainly). I would have liked a bar of soap, some Kleenex and paper towel to be provided, but there is a store a block away that we purchased those things.

Overall, we enjoyed our time in the apartment and would recommend it.
