Quincy La Casa is an exquisite Spanish Revival Duplex built in 1929 in the heart of Belmont Shore. Recently furnished the large upper unit is approximately 1,400 SF with unobstructed views situated on a corner lot. Quincy La Casa has large windows throughout providing ocean breezes and plenty of sunlight. It is 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, featuring barrel ceilings in the living and dinning rooms. The large dining room seats eight. The breakfast nook in the kitchen seats four. The large sundeck off the kitchen provides a bbq, heat lamp and lounge chairs . Also convenient is the separate laundry room. Full amenities are provided such as toiletries, towels, bedding and a fully stocked kitchen. Each large bedroom has a new Cal King bed with linens. Also provided is a twin sized cot for adult/child. All rooms have large French style windows allowing for cool ocean breezes throughout the day. Quincy La Casa has its own private garden entrance as well as one designated street side parking space. A must for the shore area!

This well located rental is just two blocks to the ocean and one block to "2nd Street and minutes to Long Beach airport. 2nd Street is a well known shopping district that is home to more than 250 businesses where you will find almost everything that you need. Just eight blocks to the bay and you are swimming, boating, kayaking and paddling boarding. A Vons grocery store is within walking distance. As owners we are in the unit below. Don't worry this building was built in 1929 of thick redwood, you will not hear us and we don't hear you. But, if you need help or information at any time we are here. Pets are welcome with a pet fee based on individual basis. The unit has recently been outfitted with new furnishings, a 60 inch flat screen and new Kitchen Aid appliances. There is BBQ and heat lamp on the sundeck off the kitchen.

About Shawn and David Black

I am an artist/writer who has lived in the beautiful Belmont Shore, Long Beach area for over 20 years with my husband and three dachshunds. We are originally from the East coast. We came to California about 30 years ago and have not looked back since.

My husband is an avid surfer who enjoys jumping in the car any chance he gets to catch the latest swell just 15 minutes south. He also enjoys golfing at anyone of the many golf courses just minutes away when he is feeling particularly good about his game.

As for myself I teach painting to the neighborhood children and a few talented adults in the area. I've worked for over 20 years as an internationally published artist. I've also completed many large hotel design commissions in the Pacific region. Recently I have been spending most of my time writing for a local magazine and working on a children's book based on our lives with three rambunctious wiener dogs and a grey cat who hopes someday to be a dachshund.

We bought our 1928 Spanish duplex as a fixer upper in the 90's. It has become a project of love as each year we continue to update it into a comfortable creative living space.My husband and I live in the lower unit surrounded by our lovely intimate garden.

This year after two decades of renting our beautiful airy upstairs unit we have decided to transform it into a comfortable vacation rental for those wanting to visit this centrally located part of California. Within walking distance to the ocean, bay, five star restaurants and upscale shopping we think our guests will fall in love not only with the area but also with Quincy La Casa.

It is a terrific area for the traveling executive. Centrally located between LA and Orange Co. Minutes from 710, 405, 605, 22 freeways. Also good for singles or couples needing a little R and R. Lots of 4 star restaurants. Nicks is terrific. New one is Saint on 2nd, George's for Mediterranean. Minutes to exclusive Naples canals, shopping and restaurants. Stores walking distance such as The Gap, Banana Republic and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Walking distance to beautiful bay area with swimming, sailing and paddle boarding. Or to the ocean for kite boarding swimming or sailing

What makes this apartment unique

My husband and I have been in our 1929 Spanish home for over 20 years. We fell in love with the original architecture and charm that rings though out. The location is perfect for lazy weekends when a stroll down to the bay or ocean with a cup of steaming coffee from one of the many bistros on 2nd Street is all that's needed.

We love the small community and picturesque sunsets that grace our area.

Great location, property, and owners!

This was our favorite VRBO rental! The property was walking distance to beach, bay (kayaks, sup), grocery store, downtown restaurants/shops, and pier (fishing, bike rentals). The property was very clean, well decorated, and well stocked with everything we needed, even snacks! We loved the patio for outdoor dining and just enjoying the ocean breeze. Thank you Shawn and David for your hospitality and a wonderful stay!

Belmont Shore/Long Beach

We had previously lived in Belmont Shore and have always loved the unique architecture of this lovely beach side neighborhood. Shawn and David's upstairs home is prefect. The photos do not do it justice. Open, lovely floorplan. The rooms are much larger than you would think or expect for a home blocks from the water. Nicely outfitted with everyday luxuries and seasonal decor.

The hosts, Shawn and David, kindly stock the home with essentials and a welcome snack. Full laundry area is an added bonus. The rooftop deck was put to use many evenings.

You are only blocks away from the beach and second street. Second Street is filled with shops, coffee, restaurants, bars, etc. Paddleboard/kayak in the channels through Naples, walk along the beach and cliffs to downtown Long Beach and the the Queen Mary.

One thing to note, if you have never stayed in a home near the water, keep in mind the close proximity you are to your neighbors. It is cozy.

Beach Life

My daughter and I were attending a three day convention at the Long Beach Arena. Rather than stay in a hotel we thought it would be fun to experience living a "beach life".

Quincy La Casa is quite the place. Upon arrival we were greeted by David. He happily introduced us to the property and showed us where our very own parking spot is located...Woo Hoo!

The floor plan is open and airy with an expanse of windows to allow the flow of the cool ocean breeze.

The location of this property is amazing! It's a short walk up to 2nd street which provides an amazing aray of restaurants, shops and coffee houses.

There is a grocery store if you choose to do your own cooking. Shawn has the kitchen fully stocked to meet your needs. The private deck is quite lovely for enjoying a meal with family & friends.

Shawn and David are lovely proprietors. They truly want you to have an enjoyable experience and it shows in the care and attention to detail of Quincy La Casa.

Beautiful place, super comfy, Open aired , great neighborhood

We stayed at Quincy La Casa for 6 nights an absolutely had a wonderful time. The rental is located in great location very close to 2nd St where u can shop or eat at all the many different restaurants. Two blocks from long Beach. The neighborhood is safe and you could walk the streets and felt at home. Shawn was an absolute wonderful host. She provided many snacks, an fresh flowers when we arrived. She was very helpful and available when we had questions. Overall the home was very everything we needed an then some.. couldn't have asked for anything better. This was our first vrbo rental experience. An it was awesome. Thank you Shawn for your California hospitality and sharing your home with us!!!

The Best Stay

We left the 105° temperatures of Phoenix to enjoy a cooler climate for a month. We chose this rental for two main reasons: 1) It's location and 2) The pictures of the home looked very inviting and comfortable. Neither of these reasons disappointed us. The home is very true to the pictures and the location is amazing. It is one block from Belmont Shore's famed 2nd street and 2 blocks from the ocean. It is so nice to be able to park the car and walk to lunch, dinner, shopping, etc. Not only was the home inviting and comfortable but we also were treated wonderfully by the owner. Upon our arrival there were many extras including wine, snacks, some pantry items and fresh flowers so we didn't have to run to the store immediately. During our stay the owners brought us additional fresh flowers - a really nice touch. The home is quite spacious and has everything you'd ever need or want while away - the owners have thought of just about everything. We have rented several different homes in the Belmont Shore/Long Beach area over the years and this was one of the best. We would definitely return.

Wonderful House, great landlords!

The upstairs apartment of this 1929 duplex is a wonderful 2 bed, 1 bath unit with vaulted ceiling in the living room, well appointed kitchen and a great deck off the kitchen. The only thing that would make it better would be another bathroom. The Owners, who live below, are charming, friendly and helpful (we needed a referral for a dental emergency.) All the attractions of 2nd street are an easy walk and the reserved parking space was great as on-street parking can be scarce, particularly on weekends. We would definitely rent there again!
