Seaside house, sleeps 8 people, set in grounds down to the beach.

------- *** NOW OFFERING .... LAST MINUTE EASTER HOLIDAY DEALS 20% OFF !!!! ****---------

The Blue House, is a pretty 4 bed cottage, in its own private garden of 2 acres. The house has been completely refurbished. It has fabulous sea views over the Western Solent with a woodland walk down to the beach. It has been featured in Coast magazine.

Located in the village of Gurnard on the Isle of Wight 'The Blue House' has four bedrooms overlooking the garden, a large contemporary living area with vaulted ceiling with a glass and Oak gable looking directly over the sea, and a wrap around deck with fabulous views over to the New Forest and the famous sunset.

The bedrooms all feature luxurious beds with cotton sheets and all natural feather and goose down duvets and pillows, the master bedroom has a large en suite bathroom and glass doors that open on to the deck and the romantic sea view.

The 'big' room has a spacious kitchen and large sitting room with a log fire.

The house is completely private and totally secluded, yet within walking distance of a great pub and shops. Single level makes it ideal for wheel chair users.

Hi Tim,

A hearty thanks from Elaine and myself............ The Blue House proved to be an excellent place to stay. You have done a great job in remodelling the place and I am sure you will enjoy full bookings for many seasons to come.

Owner's Response: Great to get another nice review! Now the winters here its time to think about those wild cliff top walks, great pub lunches and then coming back to tea and the log fire. Wildlife is still vibrant especially the red squirrels hunting for food. There must be more bridleways and seaside walking/cycling per square mile on the island than anywhere else in Britain.

Idyllic beach house within easy access of Cowes marina, beautiful location and views

  • 5 of 5

The house is fantastic and everything you could ask for in a beach house. We were a little closer to the neighbours than we expected which meant noise travelled. I think the property is clearly aimed at families with children and I wouldn't hesitate in booking it again for that purpose. Maybe not for a gathering of old school fiends however.

Great house - fantastic location and views stunning!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for 2 families of 4 - with plenty of space and huge garden and outdoor space. Great location from which to explore and good running / walking route along the seafront to Cowes. Very quiet and felt very secluded, despite immediate amenities, including shop, newsagent, pub, café, sailing club, beach, fab play ground all within a few mins walk.

The Blue House at Christmas

  • 5 of 5

We arrived , a motley crew, four grandparents, respective son and daughter, two beloved granddaughters and two dogs, not sure what to expect. The whole experience surpassed all our expectations. The house was warm and welcoming and within a couple of hours, the tree was up, we were unpacked and sitting in front of the fire with a glass of wine! The house was so well equipped, kitchen, bedrooms, sitting area. We couldn't praise it highly enough. Lovely walks to the beach, local shops within easy walking distance with welcoming proprietors, local pub overlooking the Solent, easy access to Cowes - everything you could wish for a winter break.

Owner's Response: Wow.. what a lovely wintery scene! I'm so glad you got local as well. There is lots of good restaurants nearby and Cowes is getting busier and busier even in the winter now. The beaches and downs are perfect for dogs and children and very often you can be the only ones there. I'm just as happy there in the winter especially with a roaring log fire going.

Spacious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The Blue House is a spacious, very comfortable and well equipped cottage. The garden was great for the dogs and provided us with views across the trees to the sea. We even saw a red squirrel.

Thanks to Tim, the owner, who was available via email to offer advice with any questions.

Would definitely recommend staying here. We'd love to return during the summer to make the most of the surroundings.

Lovely place for a fantastic and relaxing Family hols.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week long stay in this beautiful house, which sits on a hugely scenic spot in the lovely village of Gurnard. The kids enjoyed adventuring through the woods from the garden, popping out on the beach with rocks to climb, stones to skim and a stunning view out over the Solent and there was plenty of space in the garden for football! The house was brilliant; really nicely designed and decorated with interesting furniture, the beds and bedding were really comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped. We loved the open plan kitchen and Dining area with its amazing views out of the glazed end wall into the garden and to the water beyond. It felt totally private and we could easily have spent the week indoors had there not been so much fun to be had outdoors and exploring the island.

We had a really good meal at The Little Gloster in Gurnard Harbour and had a very nice lunch at The Boathouse in Seaview. There is a lovely run/walk along the sea wall from Gurnard around the coast to Cowes which is a great town full of interesting shops, a good fishmonger, nice pubs and a fun chain link ferry to East Cowes.

We also enjoyed walking out onto the Headland at The Needles, the chair lift ride down to Alum Bay, Dimbola Museum and Gallery in Freshwater, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Quarr Abbey and Yarmouth.

We would definitely recommend you book a holiday here!

Owner's Response: Kay, thank you so much for such a fabulous and detailed review. It is very kind of you to have taken the time and effort to write so much. I think it helps any one else looking at coming for a holiday in the Isle of Wight. I totally agree about the things to do, we love it for the sake of our own children and ourselves.
