The guest house is well equipped and comfortably furnished and features the artwork of Miss Pip Squeak, our resident ostrich artist. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and food is available at our nearby country store. The guest house also has its own gas barbecue and a porch with a swing seat as well as a stone fire pit for guest campfires. The mater bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a queen size bed while the living room sofa converts to a queen size bed. Please note that there is no television to disturb your peaceful stay.
The area is very rural and quiet. Nighttime skies are bright and clear, great for star gazing or siting by the campfire.

Check out our website for more information on kayaking and hiking in the area.
A country store is nearby and carries fresh meat, vegetables as well as beer and wine. Restaurants are also nearby if you don't want to cook. A local dude ranch has a great restaurant and offers horseback riding and helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon.

Avid hiker and kayaker who has traveled the US extensively. Always happy to give advice on what to do (and what to avoid) in the southwest US.
I'm a retired manager in the pharmaceutical industry enjoying my new life as an ostrich rancher in northeastern Arizona.
Spent time in France and am trying to improve my french whenever I can. Francophones welcome.
It is a very peaceful experience. Denver is really easy to work with and the birds and ostrich are fun to watch from the huge back deck. A great experience.
The house was very clean and the views outside were excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay and will return if we are ever in that area again. The host was a wonderful person.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Ranch, the birds are fun watch the view is awesome, Joshua trees & mountains. Sunsets were beautiful. Denver is an awesome host, it is very quiet and peachful here at the Ostrich Ranch Guest House. Couldn't have asked for anything nicer. We did several day trip to surrounding areas, like Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Sedona, AZ. It was always nice to come back to the Ranch for a peaceful evening.
We spent 2 weeks here. What a delightful guest cottage. Very clean, spacious, and light. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The ostrich were so much fun to watch and we were lucky enough to see two babies.
It is a good location. We took a number of day trips ; Oatman, London Bridge, Skywalk Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, and Lake Mead. We did an overnight trip to the Grand Canyon South Rim.
It was always great to get back to the cottage and George ( an ostrich) welcoming us.
Denver (the owner) is always close by if you have any questions or need anything.
We really enjoyed our stay. The Ostriches were the highlight of the stay. The guest house very clean and lovely and comfortable furnished. Denver was the perfect host. When we go back, we plan on staying at the Ostrich Ranch. So much fun.
The guest house was perfect for our needs. Having never visited Arizona before, we wanted a place to use as a 'home base' while we explored the area. The house was fully equipped with full kitchen, bath, and laundry. It was a little chilly during our stay so we didn't get to take advantage of the nice porch/patio area with bistro table, fire-pit, and grill, but it would be a great place to hang out in warmer weather. The guest house itself was very clean and well maintained. Our host, Denver, gave us tour of the house and introduced us to the ostriches, and he was very helpful with suggestions of places to see and things to do.
Although it was a full day trip, we were able to visit the Grand Canyon one day. We also spent a day in Kingman, visiting several small but nice museums there including a Historic Route 66 Museum. Another day we visited the old west mining town of Oatman, a quaint little town with a definite old west feel to it including the wild burros that wander through the streets. We also spent a day in Laughlin which was only about an hour drive. So there is a lot to see and do within a reasonable drive, and a couple days we just went cruisin' and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery.
The only drawback about the guest house (and this was really my fault because I didn't notice it in the list of amenities) is that there is no TV. This didn't bother me as I don't watch it much anyway, but my hubby is a rabid sports fan and missed his daily fix of whatever was going on that day. But we still enjoyed our time at the Joshua Tree Ostrich Ranch Guest House immensely and would recommend it to anyone.
