The Sevier River Retreat is a secluded and luxurious ranch house that sits on 9 acres surrounded by the Sevier River on 3 sides, and close to Bryce Canyon and Zion. The house looks directly at the back of Bryce Canyon and the Sevier River. Most windows in the house have a view, and there are no neighbors.
The property was entirely renovated, decorated and furnished in 2015 with an neo-industrial/farm style mixing wood and metal. The house features accents of barnwood (most of it from the property itself) and many of the furniture pieces and lighting fixtures were custom made from local artisans using reclaimed barnwood. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (the master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and separate tiled walk-in shower, while the upstairs bathroom has a large tub / shower combination with a view of the river) and a half bath, with a size of approximately 1800 sf.
The house offer all the amenities of home including high speed wifi (30 Mbps) throughout the house, four LCD flat screen TVs that offer Netflix and Amazon Video streaming service (no broadcast, cable or satellite channels), as well as Pandora for music and ambiance. We provide many extras for our guests, such as a printer to print out itineraries and boarding passes, cellphone chargers, reverse osmosis drinking water, locally made artisan soaps, shampoo, coffee from the region and much more. The gourmet kitchen features stainless steel appliances and is well equipped for cooking lavish meals and baking treats in the convection oven. A German style wood barbeque is available outside for grilling. Washer and dryer is also provided. Note that the Retreat does not have air conditioning, as summers do not get very hot at the higher elevation in Hatch, but all windows have screens so they can be opened to take advantage of the breeze.
The downstairs master bedroom has a split king bed, ie two separate twin natural latex mattresses side by side. The second bedroom has a normal california king bed with spring mattress, and the third bedroom has two separate twin beds also with spring mattresses.
You will enjoy a good night rest in eery silence. If you're from the big city, it will take some getting used to!
During the winter, cuddle up around the automatic pellet stove in the living room, which provides radiant warmth with a cozy fire (sufficient supply of pellets is provided for your entire stay), and watch the snowy landscapes outside.
During the summer, open up the double doors and blur the lines between inside and outside, as you watch the pink cliffs light up during majestic sunsets, and animals and birds using the river while you have dinners on the wraparound decks. Or watch horses or cows grazing during afternoon tea on the outdoor rocking chairs.
The property is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic locks so that guests can check themselves in at any time, and late check-in is not a problem. Guests have access to the entire house, and can roam freely on the 9 acres as well as fish (with a Utah fishing license, that can be purchased online) and swim in the Sevier River.

I was born in Germany, grew up in France and moved to Las Vegas in 2002. I enjoy the outdoors and all our great National Parks in the area. Do not hesitate to reach out before or during your stay, for any questions on the area. Let's pick the adventures nearby that fit your unique vacationing style.
We were looking for a property that had a river running through it, which is rather unusual in our desert. We looked at online real estate portals and followed all rivers, looking for properties listed for sale nearby. We stumbled on this one and immediately decided to buy it, due to the very unique situation where the property is bordered by the river on 3 sides.
The house itself needed a lot of remodeling and updating, and it took a year and a half to make it truly luxurious, modern and unique. We tried using local craftsmen and local materials whenever possible. Many of the barn wood features in the house use wood recycled from an old coral right on the property.
There is no other property where you are bordered by a river on 3 sides, have no neighbors, and are looking at the pink cliffs of Bryce Canyon! The property is ideal for a cozy vacation during the winter as well as the summer.
Loved the location close to Bryce. Clean and newly updated. Our kids loved hanging around and exploring the property at the end of the day. If you are visiting Bryce, stay here!
Sorry for taking so long to write this review. We stayed here over Thanksgiving, 2016 and it was perfect. The house is wonderfully equipped, comfortable, and in a beautiful location with the river winding its way through the property. We went to spend a few days hiking in Bryce Canyon and it was located perfectly with a short 20-30 minute drive through beautiful rock canyons to the National Park. Lot's of information provided about the surrounding area, things to do etc. All very helpful. We'll be back for a late spring or fall mountain bike trip in the near future. Just a great place to get away, relax, and enjoy the beauty.
We had a wonderful stay at the ranch. The house is beautiful on the inside and the views of the stream and the mountains from the living room and deck are stunning. The house was very clean and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - so nice to have a washer & dryer. My husband enjoyed fishing in the stream and caught quite a few trout. The house is conveniently located between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park and it is also close to Dixie National Park where you can see ancient lava fields. The town of Hatch has a few good restaurants and a post office and the town of Panguitch (about 15 minutes away) has a grocery store, restaurants, and gas stations. I also should mention that the owner provided great customer service! We would stay at the ranch again and would recommend it to family & friends!
We loved our stay! House is perfectly maintained and an excellent location to explore beautiful Bryce Canyon. If you enjoy fishing, get the license online and you can catch fish right behind the house. We hope to come back one day.
This beautiful property is optimally located for all Bryce Canyon visitors and provides a much prettier setting than the rather ugly hotels/motels near the canyon. It is exactly one hours drive to Zion. The amenities are superb, the decor is perfect natural wood and very calming; beautiful bathrooms and modern kitchen. The outdoor views are stunning and picturesque. The fire pit provided much delight for my kids in their early 20's . Special quodos to the Owners for the instructions/ property description/helpful hints-- all were spot on and nothing about the property was a mystery; I appreciate that. Mornings at this house are a sheer delight-quiet and peaceful, bird watching, horses, cows. I would go again.
We had a wonderful time at Sevier Retreat in Hatch, Utah! My husband & his friend loved being able to walk right outside to go fish in the river! The house was very clean, nicely furnished, & comfortable. It was very convenient to go to either Zion or Bryce from our location. It was also easy to find. The house itself is adorable, they just need to put in poles to hang clothes in closets, otherwise great. It had a nice big kitchen too. Be sure to bring some groceries if you're going to cook because they aren't any grocery stores nearby. We had a great time & would highly recommend it. The owner provided all the necessary information that we needed too. The Galaxy restaurant down the street was very good & friendly. We'd also recommend when in Bryce take the 3 hour free tour. It's really good! Also, right across the street from Ruby's Inn (the entrance to Bryce) is a Cowboy Dinner Theater. Good food & fun entertainment. You can buy your tickets at Ruby's. Here's what I wouldn't recommend, driving on hwy 12 to Escalante. Long drive & really not much to see or do unless you like rappelling.
