This rental property is one of the best places my husband and I have ever stayed. House is absolutely spotless, has everything you need throughout. Scenery all around is breathtaking with the mountains to enjoy and deer in the backyard. Locally there are many lakes, ski areas, gift shops, restaurants to visit. Perfect getaway anytime of the year.
We will be back to enjoy again.
My girlfriend and I decided to come up from Albany to the Adirondacks for a little get away and to hike some trails. This cabin was perfect for us. We had great proximity to the trails and a wonderful kitchen to cook in. They provide a book with all the trail maps and directions for you. Also the satellite TV was nice to watch at night. Very cozy!!
My husband and I needed a weekend getaway from life, and this cabin was absolutely amazing and just what we needed. The drive was breath taking and pulling up to the cabin I was just so excited! The inside is very new but built with a cabin feel. We loved the full kitchen and how they had everything we needed for cooking. The owners left us some goodies too! My husband and I loved eating outside on the porch surrounded by the fall colors and just absolute silence. Just another amazing aspect of the trip was the reassurance of how caring the owners are. My husband left his retainer there and we didnt know until we got home. I called Kristine and explained what happened and they were quick to call back to get our information. Not only did they send the retainer back to us priority mail, but they paid for it as well. This truly went above their duties and we were convinced beforehand we were going to stay at the cabin again, but now its final :) We will be making this a fall tradition for my husband and I.
My wife and I try to get to the Adirondacks every fall for the fall foliage. This year we decided to come further north and we were lucky enough to find Kris and Art's cabin on VRBO . We came up with high expectations due to the pictures on the site, however we were not ready for the absolute beauty of this property and its setting. Eight days of total relaxation and sightseeing went by in the blink of an eye. We can't wait to come back here when there is snow on the ground. Thank you Kris and Art for allowing us to experience your wonderful cabin in the Adirondacks.
Our anniversary was so relaxing! Finally a house with a comfy bed! The art in the house was so beautiful...It rained, and was foggy our whole weekend and we still had a good time! Even the 3 and a half hour drive was relaxing! If its important to you, its important to God. He knew we needed a quiet balm! We got it!
This is a really nice property located in the Gore Mountain region of the Adirondacks. Very well appointed with nice antiques and artwork, and in a secluded area off the beaten path. Porches front and back, spacious interior and plenty of windows. Has all modern appliances throughout the cabin and plenty of kitchen ware. No cell service (you're in the mountains, after all) but the owners provide a landline and excellent Wi-Fi with HDTV's.
Plenty of hiking in the vicinity (our particular pleasure), within a mile from the Hudson river. Be sure to stop by Barkeater's Chocolate shop, and take in the nearby Garnet Hill Lodge (Loghouse) restaurant, historic with beautiful views from the porch dining area and excellent food.
Owners communicated promptly regarding rental, directions, etc. and were helpful regarding things to do in the area with lots of literature (plus many trail maps!) and area magazines in the cabin. Property was very clean with plenty of linens, soap, etc. We would highly recommend this cabin.
