About the property

Vacation house in the Dolomites exclusively furnished with all comforts.

The house has a size of 75 m². In the ground floor has a fully-equipped kitchen (25 m²) with dining area and wood-burning fireplace. Accessible from the kitchen through a glass door is a veranda (15 m²) for outside eating. There is a bathroom with a tub and with jacuzzi, a shower head and a WC. On the first floor there is the master bedroom which has a king-size bed (200 m x 200 m), two night tables and two chests, one with drawers. There are three windows, the largest of them looks onto Mt. Serva. On the second floor there is a living room with a queen-size sofa bed, writing desk, satellite TV and a large window facing Mt. Serva. The amenities include central heating with radiators located on each floor and in the bathroom and a wood-burning fireplace.

Special area for SPORTS and NATURE LOVERS: A great area for SKIING, SNOWBOARD,CROSS COUTRY in the low and high Dolomites.

Information on prices is available upon request. In winter you can enjoy the Super Dolomiti Ski Pass - for the whole region. We are in the Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi - guided hicking touring information upon request. There are two GOLF courses – about 40 km from the house: in the Cansiglio and Asolo Golf Club. You can take a 3-day course with the local paragliding school. You can rent a small plane and pilot and fly over the Dolomites. If you wish to rent a motorcycle or a mountain bike and tour the Dolomites, you can rent it localy.

Excursions in the region: We recommend the following daily excursions:

- visit and participate to the Carneval in Venice, guided city tour of Venice.

- visit the Palladio villas and the Brenta area.

- visit the beautiful cities of Bassano di Grappa, Feltre, Padova, Vicenza, Verona.

- play golf in the high Cansiglio and the Asolo Golf Club.

- discover the places of Robert Browning, Eleonora Duse and Ernest Hemingway.

- visit Possagno and the Glyptothec of Antonio Canova.

- visit Treviso and enjoy the frescos of the villas.

- taste the local culinary kitchen or take cooking lessons.

- or just do it the italian way - dolce far niente.....

The house is very spacious, furnished in good taste and has all the comforts for a relaxed, enjoyable vacation.There is a covered veranda where you can sit and eat outside in the summer. A cosy setting for the grill and barbecue outside with a beautiful outdoor sitting arrangement.

Charming storybook cottage

We loved our stay at La Gingelina! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and delicious sweet bread. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable! Every window had gorgeous views of the countryside and mountains. We were sorry we didn't get to meet Eva but she was still very helpful and available through texting and the caretaker Luciano was a constant resource for any questions. He also was kind enough to show us some of the beautiful paths through stunning flower dotted meadows and woods. The property was a wonderful place to rest and relax surrounded by the beauty. We definitely hope to return!

Our stay in La Casa Gingelina

While the good weather helped our wonderful stay in Casan was made by the very warm welcome we received from Eva and Roman and from the support and gifts from Luciano.

The stone house is comforable and there was plenty of space for the two of us. As the weather was fine we were able to spend a lot of time under the gazebo and had our breakfasts in the conservatory.

The village is a very good base for exploring the SE end of the dolomites and having easy access to Venice by train. The markets in Belluno and Vittorio Venito were excellent, but you can get basic provisions and drink very close to the cottage. There is very good mountain walking close to Casan, but the main skiing areas are a little further away. We would certainly recommend La Gingelina to anyone who want a quiet and peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Sehr angenemer Ferienaufenthalt

Aufgrund unseres späten Aufbruchs, hohem Verkehrsaufkommen wegen Ferragosto und einem Bergrutsch kamen wir nach Mitternacht im Urlaubsort an und wurden sehr herzlich von unseren geduldig wartenden Gastgebern empfangen. Das Landhaus ist wunderschön, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, bestens ausgestattet und sehr gepflegt. Wir haben Wanderausflüge in die Dolomiten unternommen, waren schwimmen in Badeseen (es gibt viele und sie sind von angenehmer Temperatur) und haben die Städte Belluno, Vittorio Veneto und Venedig besucht. Nach anstrengender Wanderung empfiehlt sich ein Entspannungsbad im eigenen "Whirlpool". Zu unseren Ausflügen wurden wir von unseren Vermietern bzw. vom Verwalter des Anwesens tagesaktuell und individuell beraten. Von einem nahegelegenen Hochplatteau hat man einen überwältigenden Blick bis Venedig. Die Lage zwischen Sightseeing und hochalpinen Wanderungen, inklusive Badeurlaub ist genial. Wir werden gerne wieder hier her kommen.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus

Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche in diesem hübschen kleinen Haus verbracht. Das Dorf Casan liegt am Südrand der Dolomiten umgeben von beeindruckender Berglandschaft mit weitem Blick. Das Dorf ist nahezu nicht touristisch und das Haus liegt sehr ruhig im historischen Ortskern.

Das Haus ist sehr schön restauriert und geschmackvoll eingereichtet. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht und die Ausstattung wie. Auch alle anderen Angaben entspricht der Beschreibung. Vor dem Haus kann man wundervoll in der Sonne sitzen und eine Möglichkeit zum Grillen gibt es auch. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und die Matratzen sind ausgezeichnet.

Die Buchung und Abwicklung klappte völlig problemlos, die Vermieterin antwortete immer prompt. Wir erhielten eine genaue Wegbeschreibung und wurden bei unser Anreise herzlich Willkommen geheißen sowie in das Haus eingewiesen. Wir haben es in italienischen Dörfern schon erlebt, dass es aufgrund der Lage keine Parkmöglichkeiten gab. Diese sind in Casan vorhanden und ist das Auto nicht zu groß, kann man bis vor das Haus vorfahren und das Auto dort abstellen. Wir konnten sogar eine Garage nutzen.

Von Casan aus kann man die Dolomiten erkunden und z.B. Nach Cortina d'Ampezzo und zu den Drei Zinnen fahren. Auch für Wanderungen ist Casan sehr gut gelegen. Belluno ist sehr sehenswert und eine Fahrt nach Venedig mit dem Auto oder mit dem Zug ist sehr einfach. Dies nur einige Beispiele für das reichhaltige Angebot an sehenswerten Orten, die man von Casan aus erreichen kann.

Wir würden dieses Ferienhaus weiterempfehlen und bei einem evt. Erneuten Urlaub in der Region wieder buchen.

Liebevoll und komplett eingerichtetes, gepflegtes Haus in herrlicher Natur-Umgebung für aktiven Sporturlaub oder dolce far niente… u.a. See, Wandermöglichkeiten, gute Restaurants, Städtebesichtigungen, Shopping, Kultur, für jeden was dabei! Wir waren im Mai mit 2 Teenagern dort und waren alle sehr zufrieden. Inklusive Empfehlungen der Dorfbewohner für das beste Eis und andere Insider- und Geheimtipps.

A lovingly and completely furnished, well kept house in stunning surroundings with great opportunities for activities or dolce far niente…

There are lakes, hiking trails, good restaurants with local cuisine, cities to visit, shopping, culture, something for everyone! We were there in May with two teenagers and everybody was happy. The locals were very friendly and quick to point out were the best ice cream was to be found and with other insider tips.

This house built of Dolomite stones is located in the old historical section of the village Casan (population 250). It is situated on the mountain Dolada which is over 2000 m high; the village is at an elevation of 500. Dolada Mountain is known to paragliders. The Lake of Santa Croce (no motor boats allowed) is 3 km away. This quiet mountain village offers the tranquillity and beauty of nature. It is a good location for day trips, outdoor activities (skiing in winter and hiking and biking in summer) or just taking life easy in the mountain air. This is a perfect spot to take in the beauty of the high Dolomite Mountains of Monte Cristallo, Tre Cime, Civetta, Pelmo and Marmolata. The largest city nearby is Belluno (8 km), a beautiful medieval city, which is the summer residence of the Venetians. The house is 80 km north of Venice and 60 km south of Cortina d'Ampezzo, a ski resort with international reputation. It is a special house and area for ‘slow travellers’ and ‘slow food’ lovers.


Golf: There are two golf courses – about 40 km from the house: Golf in the high Cansiglio and the Asolo Golf Club.
