It is a beautiful property located just out of the bustle of beech mountain
We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It's a clean place that is exactly as advertised. The owner is quick to respond to messages.
Can't wait to stay there again.
We had such a great time. The chalet has everything needed to cook meals, plenty of towels, comfortable beds, great rocking chairs on the porch and we loved the decor. The owner was quick to respond. We would highly recommend this rental and hope to be back next year.

Read before booking please.....
Beware! Beware! This may be one of the longest reviews for a vacation rental, but we felt it was important to warn potential renters about this property.
Whatever the owner advertises as the daily rate, we recommend you check before booking. After we booked the cabin for a week at what we thought was the advertised rate, we found out the owner was charging us $15 more per day for my wife (?). We have never rented a place where the daily rate was not for a couple.
The cabin is located on Beech Mountain which is a beautiful little town/village with spectacular views. The cabin does not have views, but that is not a problem. It is tucked in the woods in a quiet little development with no thru traffic. At night, it is absolutely quiet. Down the mountain is the lovely little town of Banner Elk with great shops and restaurants to explore.
The cabin has no direct street access to the doors. You have to climb three flights of narrow wooden stairs to get to the entrance. If your party includes elderly or frail, be warned. Also, if it's raining, be very careful to stay on the pads on the stairs. The wood is extremely slippery. There are no real lights on the stairs at night--only small solar powered lights which are dim and pretty useless especially after a rainy day and no sun.
The cabin itself is a strange mix. The kitchen is lovely and well-equipped. There is a great fireplace. The living room/kitchen area has wrap-around windows which afford beautiful views of the trees. Unfortunately, there are no curtains or drapes so privacy is sketchy.
The curtains in the master (?) bedroom don't cover the windows. Do not expect to put your clothing away in closets or drawers as most drawers already contain other people's clothing!
Unless something has changed since we visited, the inside was damp and moldy smelling. There is no AC, only baseboard heating so the smell is more or less there to stay. You can open the windows but during our stay it was damp outside so that didn't improve things. Many of the windows don't have screens.
Most bizarre is that many of the bedroom drawers, the bathroom cabinet and shower were filled with someone else’s personal items??? This includes the fridge with prior occupant’s food items.
We will not stay here again obviously.
Really enjoyed our stay
This is a comfortable and welcoming place! Well-stocked with kitchen items and linens. Easy to find, and close to Banner Elk for shopping and restaurants. (Fred's Mercantile is amazing, by the way. A throwback to the old general stores.) The owner responded quickly when we had a few questions. We enjoyed checking out some hiking trails in the area, as well as walking around the neighborhood where the condo is located. Heavy rains while we were there only made the waterfalls in the area that much more full and picturesque--especially along one nearby trail that follows a creek. We hope to get back there soon!
Cute house, fun place
We loved the house, just the right size for 4 people. It was comfortable and we had everything we needed to cook. Loved having a functioning fireplace. Beech Mt. was fun, the hiking was great!
