About Owner/Property Manager

I am a retired author and lawyer in land use and and environmental law. My wife and I are both avid readers of history and culture. We attend the musical festivals here in Queretaro as well as the symphony concerts.

My wife is a great cook, she hosts gourmet dinners, and the kitchen we built for her, when we built the home, and which you can see at is equipped for her use.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 1993

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Santiago de Querétaro

We have traveled extensively in Mexico and, from our point of view, Queretaro is the most interesting and safest place in the country. We had thought of living in San Miguel de Allende with its larger American community; but Queretaro has more culture, music, restaurants, shopping, spas, theater, schools, museums, universities, and historical places of interest than San Miguel. The vitality of Queretaro and all it has to offer can be savored at

We built this property in 1991-1993 to our taste for our retirement. We built a Colonial Hacienda style home, but to American electrical and plumbing standards.

We selected the site for its panoramic views of the city, the vast array of city lights below, the ancient aqueduct, the mountains, and the sunsets. The location is also near the historical center, restaurants, and tennis and swimming and exercise clubs.

Three private schools that emphasize English are just at the bottom of the hill. As an author, I also found it convenient to have the three international private maillers, DHL, FedEx, and UPS all together at the bottom of the hill.

We have quick access to the major highways that lead south, to Mexico City and beyond; north, to the US border and south-east to the Queretaro International Airport.

Queretaro is a World Heritage Historical City where you can see dozens of native crafts as well as outlet shopping centers. Its aqueduct, built in the 1740's is the symbol of the City and State. The City is a tourist draw for both Mexicans and foreigners with its several museums, music festivals, symphony, many elegant as well as affordable restaurants, and sports clubs--all within 15 minutes of our home location.

Many concert and dance performances are free.in the museusms, plazas, and chruches, including the guitar, violin, zither, and choral music festivals.

Queretaro was on the border of the civilized world in the 16th and 17th centuries and has many beautiful historical churches and ex-convents. Queretaro has been the capital of Mexico three times. The conspiracy for Mexican Independence in 1820 started here and the Constitution of 1917 as the end of the Mexican revolution of 1910-1917 was drafted here in the Teatro de la Republica. The city was the last stand of the Emperor Maximilian
