About Paul Costello

We loved living in this condo for three years while our son went to the Collegiate High School accross the street at Nortwest Florida State College.

Paul Costello purchased this condo in 2009

What makes this condo unique

Niceville was rated the best town in Florida to raise children, and we very much agree. It's a wonderful little town with plenty of shopping and restaurants, and is a great base from which to enjoy all that Northwest Florida has to offer.

Great vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and had a fantastic time! The location is great, took us 15-20 minutes to get to Destin, 30-45 to reach Pensacola, and around an hour to get to Panama city. It was far enough from the beaches that we didn't have to deal with crowds of people, but close enough that it wasn't a problem going to the beach everyday. There was a Wal-Mart about a mile from the unit, so no matter what we needed or when, we had no issue getting supplies. Everything we needed was in the unit, and it's ground level so loading and unloading from the beach every day was super easy. The beaches were kind of crowded, but if you head to Pensacola, there is an old military base called Ft Pickens. It's $15 to enter per vehicle but that gives you 7 days of access. The beaches there are so peaceful, and my 6 year old found lots of shells and got to see some wild animals. We had an incredible time, would definitely recommend!

We had a very enjoyable stay. Nice property. Clean and neat.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the property late in the afyernoon. The key pad entry is a plus so you don't have to search for keys or meet up with the owner. The property is in an "apartment" complex, so there was some limited noise like you would find in similar locations. It is located within easy access to shopping, restaurants, beaches....The pool was clean; lots of "accessories"-washer and dryer, coffee maker, dishwasher, linens...access included a picnic area near the unit.

We enjoyed the unit and property and would stay again.

Expectations met!!

  • 5 of 5

Great location! Cozy updated clean condo! Grocery stores are at reach when needed. Ground level condo and keyless made it convenient to load and unload when we headed to the beach. For anyone who loves outside cooking, my husband brought a Webber and threw some steaks on the grill (courtyard) for our last day, the neighbors were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place!

Great Niceville Experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the Niceville Condo. It was clean, modern and a very comfortable stay. The location was great with conveniences such as Publix and Wal-Mart around the corner. We’re able to quickly get to Destin with the new by-pass with the Highway 285 exit ramp. The college was great to have nearby to enjoy the Mattie Kelly Arts Center across the street. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and were able to get on the Rocky Bayou Country Club golf course, what an easy treat within a couple miles. Some of the favorite places to dine were the French Quarter Grill, Tradewinds and the Boathouse Landing when time wasn't available to cook. When we did cook, having grocery stores and Willinghams Seafood market close by made a huge difference in our trip.

This was truly a great experience and would recommend others to stay. We’ll be back again next year for a visit. Thanks again!!

Just got home after a month in the college street condo. I am already looking forward to going back. The condo is centrally located to Destin , Fort Walton and about 45 minutes from Pensacola The beaches are white and Henderson Beach in Destin has bathrooms , water fountains ,picnic tables and grills wonderful for a day at the beach Niceville also has nice restaurants shops etc. Every thing you need is in the condo but should you need sheets , wash cloths ,towels Paul is quick to respond to your needs. The condo is always neat and clean. Just walk in and unpack your luggage and let the fun begin. This was our fourth year to go there it is a home away from home and I look forward to many vacations there . I highly recommend staying here for a wonderful vacation.

Owner's Response: We have six places in VRBO, and have had many guests. That having been said, these are the loveliest folks it's been our privilege to host. The condo is nice, but not perfect. These guys are both nice, and perfect. We very much look forward to every visit.

If you want a college apartment rent this one!

  • 1 of 5

This "condominium" was misrepresented, except for the inside. This two bedroom apartment was in a partially noisy apartment complex across from a college. When we pulled into the parking lot and began to walk up to the sidewalk there were hundreds of dead cigarette butts all over the sidewalk, little grassy area and near the door. It was easy to access the lock, so we entered.

There were dishes in the dishwasher that had been run and cleaned. The top racked was off it's roller so I fixed it and it was fine. It looked like a light cleaning had been done. I found a roll away bed in the master bedroom. When I pulled it out I saw that two wooden slats had been broken in half and were still connected to the edges of the metal frame.

The bathroom was clean but extremely small.

There was something, like mold, in the ventilation system. When we were away from the place we felt better, when we slept there we had throat and nose problems.

The neighbors were noisy college students, that were active through the night and kept waking us up. At one point I heard noises in the parking lot so I got up to see what the commotion was all about. I saw a couple walking to a car. The tall young man had jammy pants on that were falling off his back side.

The TV remotes were faulty. The one in the front room worked part of the time. The one in the master bedroom never worked. I had some batteries the same size and changed both, but the master bedroom never worked even with new batteries. There was a note from the owner with names and numbers to contact a house cleaner and repair person. I did text the house cleaner about the remotes after I had changed the batteries. She told me about some batteries in a kitchen drawer, they were loose but I tried them in the master's remote, still didn't work at all. I noticed that the TV brand and remote brand were different.

I will never rent this place or from this host again.

Owner's Response: I'm afraid this is one of those people who is unhappy during the holidays. I'm very sorry she didn't enjoy our little place, but this is not a fair or accurate review.
