• The Burgundy Room, queen bed -- and a Pack and Play crib in the closet

• The Wrought Iron Room, full bed

• The White Room, two twin beds

• The Downstairs Room, queen bed -- there is also a fold out couch for one person on the first floor.

All rooms offer wireless Internet with central air conditioning, ceiling fans, white noise machines and air purifiers, or windows that open for fresh air.

There are two full bathrooms, one on each floor, one combined with a first floor laundry room with washer and dryer, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, kitchen nook, pantry, and formal dining room with comfy dog couch and living/sleeping room.

There is plenty of parking, including for trailers (just park in the public area across the street) and a fenced-in large back yard to enjoy the fire pit at sunset.

About Sarah

My husband was raised in way upstate New York, and I was raised in Michigan. We now live in the DC area with our two little ones and two dogs. We LOVE to come to the property when we can -- definitely our home away from home.

Sarah purchased this farmhouse in 2005

Why Sarah chose Seneca Lake

I love open windows and sun coming through them; my husband is a car nut who loves the area for its focus on cars old and new; we love the restaurants, sunset drives, going for ice cream (almost nightly!), letting the dogs and kids run around the back yard and the much less hectic pace and simplicity of this + 150 year-old home.

Family had a wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

Sarah's place was large enough to accommodate family, spouses, and kids. We were just minutes from Watkins Glen, but didn't have the traffic and noise. Only traffic was in the mornings and evenings, otherwise the neighborhood is very quiet. Family enjoyed the grill and the fire pit. Kitchen is small, but nicely equipped. Only inconveniences we experienced were the small shower cubicle (it's tiny) in the downstairs bathroom/laundry and the lack of a few strategically placed shades for privacy and sunblock. Otherwise, I would highly recommend.

Wonderful multi-family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with two other families, making it a total of 6 adults and 6 kids. It was awesome! The house is super cozy and cute, and our kids had a blast running around in the backyard. They really loved playing with all the toys and stuffed animals provided, as well as the treasure trove of DVDs to chill out with at the end of the day! I loved sitting on the porch and reading. We particularly enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and playing board games late into the night! The close proximity to EVERYTHING cannot be beat. We were just 10 minutes from water falls, wineries, breweries and downtown Watkins Glen. It was absolutely lovely!

Comfortable.

The porch was our favorite place to be. The beds were a comfortable sleep. A great reunion setting that allowed us to catch up.

Old homestead with modern convenience

  • 5 of 5

Close to tourist attractions and town. Also, close to a busy highway but with a generous enclosed back yard. Very welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay.

What a surprise and wonderfully charming home. Worth twice the price. I have never relaxed as much as I did here. It will become an annual rental for us. 5 Stars!
