The moment you open the door, you'll take a deep breath and say, "I could definitely relax here."

My husband was raised in way upstate New York, and I was raised in Michigan. We now live in the DC area with our two little ones and two dogs. We LOVE to come to the property when we can -- definitely our home away from home.
Sarah purchased this farmhouse in 2005
I love open windows and sun coming through them; my husband is a car nut who loves the area for its focus on cars old and new; we love the restaurants, sunset drives, going for ice cream (almost nightly!), letting the dogs and kids run around the back yard and the much less hectic pace and simplicity of this + 150 year-old home.
Gave you a 5 star review. Hated to because I'd like to keep your house my secret -- smile.
I came out with a couple of girlfriends to run the Wineglass Marathon (Bath to Corning). We had a wonderful stay at this place. The house is different than any other I have stayed in. It is like truly stepping back in time. It fit our needs for a girls weekend perfectly. It was very clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are large, we each had our own room to sleep in and there were rooms left over. The kitchen was well equipped and we made good use of the front porch to sit and relax. It is conveniently located to Watkins Glen with many yummy places to eat and the state park right there. It is also a close drive to many of wineries.
The owner was fantastic to deal with!!!
The place has a large kitchen table where we all naturally gathered. We had a puzzle going the whole time and a glass of wine in our had while we were doing it. What a fantastic long weekend.
Sarah is a great, accommodating owner. There were 10 in our group and we all enjoyed having this farmhouse as our base location for a race weekend at Watkins Glen International. We especially enjoyed our evenings around the fire pit in the backyard. Thank you, Sarah.
We really enjoyed staying in the farm house. The rooms where spacious with a lot of character. My nieces and nephew loved the stairway out of the kitchen up into their room. The upstairs bathroom even has a footed tub. My dad took a nap in the hammock in the backyard. It was too hot for a fire, but there is a ring and wood ready to go. The grill worked out really well and allowed us to keep the temperature lower inside.
The house was clean and ready for us. Sarah was very communicative. We found it quite pleasant to talk with and work with her.
The farmhouse is within a 10 minute drive from many waterfalls, a few small towns, and the lake. Watkins Glenn, an excellent hike, was really easy to access. A parking pass gives you access to the trails and the pool for the day. On a weekend like we had, where the temperatures were in the upper 90s with humidity pushing the heat index over 100, we were grateful being staying in a house with central air, and to have access to the pool so many waterfalls.
If you are looking for relaxation and recreation I would highly recommend booking a long weekend at the farmhouse. Enjoy!
Our extended family of 9, ranging in age from almost 2 to almost Social Security, spent about a week here. The location was perfect for activities on both sides of Seneca Lake and convenient to Watkins Glen for shopping and dining. Family friendly with lots of comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen, a big table for family dining and games, and a big back yard, it was perfect for our needs. With 7 adults prepping for a wedding, there were plenty of hot water and towels!
The farmhouse was clean and nicely decorated and we had no qualms about the children playing on the floor. We also enjoyed the front porch and the backyard hammock. It was a very peaceful and restful spot.
The Finger Lakes area has so much to do we easily could have spent twice as much time here. Hiking, wine tasting, sailing and kayaking on the lake, to name a few, were easily accessible.
If we ever return to this area (and we live on the West Coast) we would love to stay here again!
Had a great experience staying here for 4 nights...lots of room for our group of 8 - we enjoyed having a drink on the front porch and toasting marshmallows in the backyard.
This is a lovely historic home overflowing with country charm. My family and I spent the holiday weekend here to explore the Fingerlakes and the location is perfect - easy drive to the lakes, parks and wineries. Rooms are clean, everything was in working order. We spent one memorable night grilling and making smores in the backyard - our dog was happy as they yard is fenced in and she could roam freely. Sarah is very pleasant and easy to communicate with, and even allowed us to stay extra days because of the holidays - so very accommodating! Cannot beat the GREAT value for renting this home while discovering the beauty of the Fingerlakes!
