Overview

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2)

This beautiful and light boutique style apartment is situated in the leafy Plantage area which is in the heart of the city of Amsterdam.

It has been completely renovated and lovingly furnished. The spacious apartment has high original ornamental ceilings, a display fireplace and 3 large windows on the North and South side.

The kitchen is like everything else in the apartment – simple, beautiful and high quality and is fully equipped including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washer/dryer, SMEG hob/oven and granite worktops.

The bathroom includes a large walk-in shower with double basin vanity unit. The bedroom has an original ornamental ceiling, king-sized bed, built-in wardrobes and two large original doors that close the bedroom and bathroom from the open-plan living/kitchen space. The WC/toilet is located separately to the bathroom.

Each piece of furniture has been chosen to create a beautiful and relaxing home. The apartment also has high-speed wireless internet, and a 32-inch Samsung flat-screen TV, DVD player and iPod speaker base.

This first-floor apartment is located very close to the Amsterdam Business School on a leafy and charming street in a quiet residential part of the city.

Within 1-3 mins you can walk to various local cafes, restaurants, bakery, supermarket, book store, Kriterion (arty) movie house, Oosterpark (lovely green park), multiple canals, Artis Zoo and the metro/tram.

Take a 10-15 min (beautiful and safe) walk, and you are out of the calm and tranquility and into the buzzing ‘hub’ of the more crowded, busy, exciting and ‘touristy’ part of the city.

If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, relaxing well loved home to stay in which is right in the heart of the city to enjoy while you explore the canals, museums, shops, parks, restaurants and culture of Amsterdam, then this apartment is the perfect choice.

If you are looking for nightlife and partying – then this apartment nor it's location will be suitable for you.

About Kate Gordon

Hi! I live locally and so am always on hand if you have any questions or need any suggestions on what to do or where to go, eat or what to see when you are staying in this wonderful and calm oasis in central Amsterdam.

Kate Gordon purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Kate Gordon chose Amsterdam City

I love the Plantage area of Central Amsterdam. It's green and leafy, charming, full of restaurants and local cafes. It's very safe and quiet and provides a truly local and authentic experience of Amsterdam.

It's in the old Jewish quarter and is steeped in history. The location is BEAUTIFUL. In the heart of the city and yet away from the tourists and crowds.

What makes this apartment unique

This area of Amsterdam is incredibly beautiful. Quiet, relaxed, residential, friendly, safe and full of culture, museums, canals and the Amsterdam University.

Locals sitting outside in the sunshine in cafe terraces, children playing, students at the University and locals going about their daily lives.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful city

  • 5 of 5

Well appointed apartment in a great location with access by foot or transit anywhere you will like to go. It is good to note that there are 22 stairs to the front door of the apartment. Kate was helpful and the apartment is well maintained.

Thanks.

Good choice for living in a real Amsterdam neighborhood like a local

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is not fancy, but it fully met our needs for a 4-day stay. Kate was wonderful to work with. She answered many questions we had, both before and after the booking, and always in a helpful and timely manner. The apartment was very quiet, the kitchen was adequate for our cooking needs and we appreciated the stainless steel pans. The bed was firm (which we like) and very comfortable. All in all, good value in an interesting inner city location, and a comfortable place to "call home" for a few days. We would stay here again.

Clean and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved everything about the place. Close to the tram. Many attractions within walking distance. Lots of space. Kate even had some Cokes and beer in the fridge to get us started. If we come back then we are definitely staying here again!

Spring in Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

This was my fourth visit to Amsterdam and the first visit for my granddaughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this great apartment which was near lots of great restaurants and just a short walk to Tram 9 and metro. It was also close enough to walk to the center. Kate, our host met us at the apartment to ensure we knew how everything was and how it worked. She was kind enough to set up an inflatable bed in the living room for me to sleep on and this worked out very well. This is a great apartment in a very cool and quite neighborhood.
