Efficiency apt. located at the back of 2 acres . This is a private apt that is quiet and designed with rest and relaxation in mind. It is close to town but with the feeling of being further out. This is a fully equipped apt. with full kitchen, washer and dryer, wifi, multi tv channels. We have covered parking with patio and gas grill for your use. Outdoor pit when in season. Queen bed with memory foam. Your check in will be at 3:00pm and check out at 10:00 so as to get apt. fresh and clean and ready for next guest.

About Cal & Carolyn Tipton

My husband and I are both officially retired but not stopping. He retired from Fire Dept and I from retail management. We have been in the building industry for years, from metal buildings to homes. We now build houses to sell.

We designed and built our home after years of collecting and appreciating antiques. My things just did not go well in a regular home, so we built this dog run style home.

We lived in the little apt while we built our home, so I know I love it and hope you do too.

We have travelled all 50 states by motorcycle. Rented in Alaska and Hawaii. But actually rode our own for two weeks per summer to do the West, then East, then center of US. Its our love.

We also love our flower beds and entertaining when the weather provides.

We think you will love the little touches of the apt. I cannot think of a thing that you could need, that I have not tried to provide. It is quite and often we never see our guests once they go in. We are alittle out so feels like the deep country, but close to activities so as not to miss out on great shopping and eating. We think you will love the laid back atmosphere.

Full kitchen with washer and dryer. Outdoor covered parking and patio area with propane gas grill and patio table. We also have a fire pit for you to enjoy when the weather allows. We are not too far from the historic downtown Lufkin and the hiking trails of East Texas Forests. We are about 20 miles from Lake Sam Rayburn Lake for fishing and boating. There are all kinds of neat shopping stores downtown with a great coffee bar and wine bar and brewery which offer night time entertainment. Eating we have. If it is special requests, let me know. We have a basement 5 star eating in downtown and I can set you up with flowers and massage or anything for that special occasion .

My first attempt at staying any other place in a motel. If this place is any indication I will never stay in a motel again. The owners are fantastic the area is beautiful. What more could you ask for? Texas and great people.

Cozy Stay at a Great Price

I had a fantastic stay & definitely plan on coming back. The outside property was beautiful & just outside of town to be relaxing & quiet.

The room itself was very clean & cozy. Welcoming wine samplers & delicious banana nut bread were waiting for us when we checked in. Everything we needed was provided: Stand up shower, towels, comfy bed, clean fridge, coffee maker, coffee flavors, silverware, plates, cups & bowls.

There was wifi that was blazingly fast as well as TV with plenty of channels. The hosts themselves were so helpful and kind, and were there if we needed them.

Not only will I be back because I like supporting a local business rather than a big hotel chain, but the place was just beautiful, cozy and quiet.

We have forests, historic downtown with shopping, museums, from Forestry, Historic (Old Stone Fort, where Sam Houston set up Texas), Natural History and others. Great places to eat too. If you want to fish, there is Sam Rayburn, which is one of the largest man made lakes in Texas with many places to put in close to us. We have one of the nicest golf courses in Texas and really close. There are actually 3 close by. If you love to hike , we have that too, with a lot of forest to explore. If you ride a motorcycle, well we know that too as we also ride. We would love to give you some routes that we find pretty and enjoy. I try to provide a lot of info in apt. with maps and everything you need.

There will be no smoking in the apt. Outside is allowed. No pets are allowed in or outside the apt. No drug use on property. No more than 2 adults allowed to stay unless permission by owner. Please when cooking consider the odor that will be left behind that others might not enjoy. This is not a full time rental and as such will vacate apt. at end of payment term. Be considerate of noise and disturbance to owners and others. If there are problems with anything in the apt. please notify us at once so we can fix problem and prevent any further damage. We will try to resolve the problem as soon as we can physically do so. Check in is at 3:00pm and out is at 10:00am

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
