Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Feshiebridge - Ord Cottage

A 3 bedroom house by river where pets are welcome just 6 miles from Aviemore

Ord cottage and the bothy are set in over half an acre of land, adjacent to the river at Feshiebridge. It is ideally located for exploring the Highlands as it is only 5km from the A9 but if you just want to relax it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there is plenty to do locally. Glen Feshie is a quiet and lovely Highland glen with abundant wildlife, we see red squirrels, deer, osprey and lots of birds including crested tits. There is excellent mountain biking and walking; canoeing, dinghy sailing and windsurfing on Loch Insh, 1km from cottage and swimming in the river close to the house. Despite being in a quiet location it is only 10km from all the facilities of Aviemore.

Ord Cottage has 3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins) a large sitting room with open fire, a sofa bed and uninterrupted views of the river and glen, a large, very well equipped, newly refurbished kitchen/ dining room, a new bathroom and a shower room with a walk in shower.

Part of the garden is fenced and therefore is safe for small children.

The house is ideal for families and many have returned, approximately 70% of guests have stayed before. Our aim is to provide family and pet friendly accommodation at a reasonable budget.

The bothy is sometimes used by the owner and her family for the weekend, we will not intrude on your holiday as the cottage and it's garden are 2.5m above the bothy.

Mountain biking track runs past cottage and watersports are available on Loch Inch 1 miles away.

If you have stayed before please text me on 07590 465565 for returning guest's discount.

Autumn break

Great location if you like quiet outdoors and easy access to forest for walking and biking. Very peaceful at night, loads of wildlife right outside the windows. Cottage very well equipped and comfortable - especially kitchen and bathroom. Mid-way between Aviemore and Kungussie so handy for shops and other attractions. Good commuication and directions from owner. Lots of useful bits provided - maps, dvd's, games, books, broadband, phone etc.

Good activities locally - highly recommend Inshriach cake shop at the plant nursery, Kincraig Wildlife Park, bike tracks and walks in surrounding forest and round Rothiemurchus estate.

Lovely homely feel with great scenery.

  • 5 of 5

Ord House was all we needed and more. My girlfriend and I stayed for three nights and found it very comfortable. The facilities were great, from the open fire to spacious bathroom. It was very clean and everything was very well kept.

The location was fantastic as we enjoy long walks in the countryside and we were so close to lots of interesting places. Although there were too many things to do in the time we had so we look forward to coming back.

Alison was very helpful by giving us well detailed directions to the house. Lesley next door was very friendly and gave us a very warm greeting. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone.

We look forward to our next holiday there.

Great property!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was in a fantastic location to get to all the points of interest we wanted to see. It was exceptionally clean and more spacious than I expected. Everything you could possibly need was provided for, especially in the kitchen. The bathroom was fab, massive bath and power shower. Carol, the owner was helpful all the way through, especially when I struggled with the tv on our first night! She called us immediately and helped out and the neighbours were also on hand, without being imposing. I would recommend this rent to anyone wanting peace and quiet without feeling isolated and the area was so safe for my young granddaughter and dog! Locally, the Highland Wildlife Park is a must and if it's the right season, the ospreys at Lochs Garten and Insh and the tearooms/alpine garden centre just up the road are well worth a visit, lovely coffee and cake with a brilliant viewing area to watch the birds and red squirrels. If it's your visit to the area though, two weeks would be good, I've been many times but not with family, let's just say we packed a lot into a week taking Emily to see everything.....however, we managed to relax in the evenings and sat out until late, (the night sky was amazing as there is little light pollution) after which we went in to sit in front of the lovely log fire. (Once I could get Emily out of the bath!!)

Nature on your doorstep

  • 5 of 5

With two active dogs to entertain this is absolutely the best location ever and to satisfy desire to see nature at it's best you could not ask for more. The views are spectacular and from the cottage window we were entertained by woodpeckers, pheasant, red squirrels and many birds not to mention the Doe and Stag that wondered to the edge of wood and made our holiday so special. The accommodation is wonderful, rooms were huge and the facilities and equipment excellent, everything catered for so well. Their are walks for all levels right on the doorstep, we hardly used the car with so much to do and see right where we were. We cannot wait to return.

Perfect stay at Ord Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We previously knew Ord Cottage by walking past on walks up glenfeshie but did not realise how large and well equipped it was. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, Large lounge with an open log fire and a huge kitchen. The position of the cottage is perfect for walks from the front door and we found we could drive into Aviemore in about 10-15 mins. The cottage facilities are excellent. We were particularly happy with the superb bathroom (shower with 6 Jets) and the John Lewis fitted kitchen. The Feshie literally flows past at the bottom of the garden and it is great to listen to at night. We had a great time here and would readliy come back again. Great to see 2 red squirells on the bird feeder most days.
