The owner was friendly through email, offering to hook me up with some locals who could help me with the project I was visiting town for. Responses were slow but pleasant and helpful.
The building and apartment are charming. It's a third-floor walk up without A/C, but there's a heat pump and fans in the bedroom and living room. I was in Columbus in July, so it was warm up there, but fine with the fans going.
The last night of my stay, I arrived at the unit to find the power was off in the unit. The rest of the house was powered, just not this unit. I called and texted the owner and got no response. I found the circuit box in the unit and flipped all the switches, then went down to the basement and flipped the main breaker for the unit. Still no power. Still no response. Still over 80 degrees inside at midnight. I took a cold shower in the dark to cool off and went to bed. By the morning there was still no power and no response, so I packed up and went to find a cafe with power and wireless.
I'm now back home, three days later, and still haven't gotten a response from the owner.
Decent place, but don't expect service.
