Overview

About the property

Only minutes from the Grand Canal, Rialto & St Marks

Our flat in Ca’ Amadi is just minutes from the vaporetto stop at Rialto (lines 1 & 2), a short journey down the Grand Canal from the main arrival points of Piazzale Roma and the Ferrovia (railway station). A truly magical way in which to arrive!

Ca'Amadi overlooks a very quiet and private Corte (with its 15th century well), yet is only minutes from the bustling Rialto Bridge and the Market. St Mark’s square (San Marco) is about 10 easy minutes away on foot.

The apartment sleeps 2 - 4 adults comfortably (with an extra sofa bed in the living area), and is available throughout the year for a minimum of 3 nights. It is an ideal base for weekend or short breaks.

Although popular throughout the year, we particularly recommend visits in the quieter months of February, March and November.

“In the winter, Venice is like an abandoned theatre. The play is finished, but the echoes remain”.

Ca'Amadi lies on the edge of the sestiere (district) of Cannaregio, a local residential area and a true ‘Venetian’s Venice’, with a wealth of food and artisan shops, bars and restaurants.

Vaporetti for the outlying Islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello leave from the Fondamente Nuove, again a short walk away.

Close by, across the Rialto Bridge are the spectacular daily fish and vegetable markets.

..... for exploring Venice. Set in quiet courtyard, but only a little off the beaten track; it is beautifully furnished and fitted out. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly.

Super location. Wonderfully equipped. A real home from home.

  • 5 of 5

Every detail was thought of from the meet and greet service from the local Water taxi or water bus drop off point from the airport to the UK adapter in the cupboard. Clean smart and stylish. Spread over two floors of the second floor and loft of a very traditional Venetian house set in a quiet court yard, it is full of character. Low rafters in the loft made for interesting manoeuvres. The Opera House and lots of lovely restaurants close by and only minutes from the Rialto Bridge. A great location.

Great location and roomy enough for 4 adults.

Great location. Very clean. The lack of headroom in the attic space added to the charm. Extremely grateful that Martina met us st the boat, walked us to the apartment and got us started on a wonderful 3 days in Venice.

Great apartment in great location

  • 5 of 5

Saying this is "the heart of Venice" is exactly right. It was directly across from a house that belonged to Marco Polo and was an easy (and beautiful) walk to many of the great places in the city. We really appreciated the quiet courtyard and the suggestions from Jane and Miles for particular special places to visit and to eat. As others have pointed out, it is a nice place to come back to rest after a long productive day and before heading out for dinner in the neighborhood, or farther afoot. We had a great time.

A perfect place to come back to!

  • 4 of 5

We walked from the train station and easily found Marcus waiting for us on the main walkway through Venice. Moments later we entered a quiet courtyard and then climbed the stairs to the top flat where we found comfortable sitting/dining/kitchen and twin beds on first level with a cozy top level and double bed just up the spiral staircase. Everything was clean and in good order. There was a thoughtful selection of guide and cook books in addition to the helpful information sent previously by the hospitable owners. It turned out to be a perfect place to come back and relax between museums and sightseeing.

Quaint apartment very well located within Venice

  • 5 of 5

Family of four who made a last minute decision to go to Venice. miles was very responsive and accommodating. The apartment is well located and perfect for 4. The ceiling in the loft area is low but Kids loved it and was accessible by adults as well. Definitely recommend this apartment. Great value, very charming and well located near Rialto Bridge.

Tranquil retreat in central Venice

  • 5 of 5

We recently enjoyed a four night stay in this quiet, well equipped apartment situated in an ideal central location.

We were met by Marco at The Rialto Bridge on our arrival from the airport by water taxi. He escorted us on the short walk to the apartment where he explained how everything worked and gave advice on how to find the nearest supermarket for immediate essentials.

There was an abundance of information available in the apartment on sight seeing and restaurants etc., most major sights being within easy walking distance as well as Vaporetto stops to the Islands.

We do recommend a visit to Teatro La Fenice if at all possible.

Venice – La Serenissima - the most magical city on earth………….

On the edges of the sestieri of Cannaregio, Castello and San Marco, Ca'Amadi is extremely convenient for the city’s main attractions, all of which are in easy walking distance. Equally, the quieter residential areas, with shops, bars and restaurants can easily be found close by and ‘off the beaten path’.

From the busy Campo San Bartolomeo, a street leads north towards the Church of San Giovanni Crisostomo, off which is the square of the Teatro Malibran, one of the city’s major venue for classical concerts. The Corte Ca’Amadi lies just to one side. Nearby is the house where Marco Polo lived.

Vaporetti for the outlying Islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello leave from the Fondamente Nuove, again a short walk away.

Close by, across the Rialto Bridge are the spectacular daily fish and vegetable markets and the residential sestieri of Dorsoduro and San Polo.
