About Lori Fisch

Lori is a textile artist, bookkeeper and dabbler in many things. She lives in Spencertown, NY with her husband and two dogs.

Lori Fisch purchased this house in 1990

Why Lori Fisch chose Chatham

My husband and I moved to Chatham from the greater NYC area to raise our children in the 80's. We loved the area and the school district and now, 30 years later, we are very happy to still be here. Chatham has blossomed over the years and now has much exciting new culture and businesses including many restaurants and cafes, a yoga studio, local brewery and food co-op.

What makes this house unique

When we bought this roost on the hill, we loved it for it's proximity to all of the happenings in Chatham at the same time being as tucked away in it's own private natural setting.

perfect for our family stay

close to wedding venue, plenty of relaxation areas for everyone( indoor and out). Would have liked kitchen counters and frig more cleared(didn't like having to move others items), more specific details on departure, like unmake beds(which is what we've had to do at every other place we've stayed). Great walking to stores and eateries. Right on the main thoroughfare.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Nice secluded home. Only problem for me was the steps from the den to the main part of the home with my knees and no hand rail but i didn't need to go there. Then main part of the home was all i needed! The shower was wonderful and the bed so comfy. Hope its available again next summer! Thanks for sharing your home! Elsie

Pretty much as advertised. A cozy and friendly home lent to us. Y

Overall a very pleasant stay. The house was perfect for our sibling reunion. Potential renters should be aware, however that even without significant disability some aspects of the house can be challenging for older persons, those with any balance issues etcetera.: non-standard stairs with very narrow horizontal throw, no handrail for steps from family room to dining room; and so forth.

Surrounding grounds are spacious and give one a sense of isolation from Chatham which it overlooks.

As it was for us it is a perfect place to stay for those visiting residents of the Elders in Community in Ghent.

A microwave would be nice.

Hidden in the hills

  • 5 of 5

Once we found the correct driveway and we started to ascend it, we started to get excited and as we entered the house we were even more pleased. A quant location with a clean and airy house, and plenty of room for two families. My husband and I were thrilled to find a child gate and high chair for our 18 month old in the front closet, it's the little things. Our kids loved exploring the outdoors and used their imaginations. We came to this area for a wedding and wished we could have stayed longer to explore the cute little town. Lori was quick to respond and very nice to work with!! Highly recommend.

Wedding 2017

  • 5 of 5

We were in the area for a family wedding. We really liked this property. The kitchen was well stocked with basic ingredients including very good coffee. It's very spacious. Our daughter, husband and two little grandkids stayed with my husband and I. Our daughter's family were upstairs with their own bathroom and we were downstairs with our own bathroom. It is up a steep hill but so nice being in the woods. I highly recommend this place and we will be back if we are in the area and need a lot of room.
