We have lived out in the Hidden Valley area for almost 30 years.
Home was literally built by us. Lots of love & creativity went into it.
Solar power. Open southern facing with view of Table Top Mountain.
We live right next door and one of us are usually here to help you, should the need arise. Because we live close we personally check you in & out for your stay.
My husband and I were looking for the desert experience and found it at this beautiful house. It was spacious, comfortable and relaxing. Rita and Jim were the perfect hosts. Everything we needed was there. We truly enjoyed our stay.
We loved our stay! The property is so peaceful and private. Close enough to town that it isn't a pain to drive for groceries and gas, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, including 2 gallons of drinking water and a bag of ice! Jim and Rita went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. Thank you!!
We stayed with friends and our two dogs at this property for two weeks in March.
Rita and Jim are awesome people and live next door. The house is large and open.
You do need to bring your own drinking water and all of your own groceries.
Maricopa is a fair drive to get supplies if you are not prepared. This property is very
rural so consider your length of drive and drive time if you are wanting to sight see or
go into Phoenix for anything. Would have liked to have had more shade on the patio.
(eg. table umbrella).
Thanks Rita and Jim for sending us off with the rare cactus bloom!

We were looking for an affordable get away for our family driving distance from Las Vegas. This was above and beyond safe, pleasant, and relaxing. We went to the Butterfly Wonderland fully worth the time if you have elementary age children. We also enjoyed the option of cooking on sight, the kitchen is well set up to prepare meals on site.
We rented this house for family members from out of state visiting here for a few days. The house was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We will
be looking forward to renting it again. The only complaint was no wifi.
We stayed at this property 25 days. Rita and Jim are such incredibly nice people and exceptional hosts. They proved themselves available for any questions or concerns (they live right next door). They were also quickly responsive to the very few problems that we encountered. One evening, when the refrigerator went on the blink, they arranged to have repair people arrive the next morning and it was promptly fixed. When the can opener broke, a replacement was provided immediately.
The house itself is a wonderful place to get away from it all. The large south-facing windows give the large great room a marvelous desert view including the grand Table Top Mountain. The hosts have stocked everything you need (except microwave - we brought our own). The house is secluded and rural, so it's a peaceful and quiet setting.
There were some initial challenges for us, but they were easily overcome. The water is from a well and cisterns (from rain) and so not suitable for drinking according to the hosts, so we bought five one gallon spring waters from Walmart, then used the empty jugs to fill water at the Circle K in Maricopa for 15 cents per gallon. There is no wifi at the house, so we used our iPhones as hotspots to use our iPads. We found a small park within a five minute drive so we could take walks on the days we didn't go out sightseeing. There is sometimes a foul odor outdoors from nearby cattle yards, but it occurs very infrequently. It would not be sufficient to be a deal-breaker.
There are many things to see in the area, but most do require a substantial drive due to the rural nature of this property. With the right planning and timing, you can sightsee and avoid the high traffic in the Phoenix metro area. We brought a small car, but would have been able to see more if we had a high clearance vehicle for driving rough roads that lead to trailheads. Most of the interesting sites require more driving. But the house is so pleasant, it's great to just hang out and enjoy the patio and front yard. Here are some nearby points of interest:
Jim Korsten West Pinal County Park on Hwy 84: very close and easy to walk 1.5 mile loop on park road

We are 40 minutes to Phoenix, 25 minutes to Casa Grande and 15 minutes from Maricopa. 14 miles south of Maricopa, about 3 miles west of Hwy 347. Hwy 8 access to Tucson, Yuma & San Diego is approximately 10 miles from us. We are on a gravel road about 1/8 mile off of Amarillo Valley Rd. (Amarillo Valley is tarred.) We are rural and away from it all. A car is essential. We are 15 minutes from Harrah's Casino and the new Ultra Star Theatre Complex. The newly opened Copper Sky Recreational Park is only 15 minutes from us. Horseback riding is available locally. Wildlife includes: coyote, quail, road runners, lizards, jackrabbit & various song birds.
