Our moated castle offers you four original holiday domiciles, which have one thing in common: tranquillity, romance and a burg character. Surrounded by the protecting moat with colourful fish, you can experience a world that is very rare in Germany: A private castle, which is still inhabited today and invites you to be a guest for a while. The holiday apartment 'Burghäuschen“ has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room with kitchenette and a cosy fireplace oven. The 'Castle Apartment“ attracts through its architecture uniqueness, historic equipment and paintings on the ceilings and walls along with modern comfort. The 'Falkennest“ combines a unique view from the chapel tower in all directions with cosy living for 1-2 people in historic walls! In the 'Gärtnerhaus“, large families or 2-3 couples will feel comfortable as well: it offers space for up to 6-7 people!
Household help and/or child care: A unique domicile awaits you, which lets you forget all stress and everyday problems. You have the possibility to dive into the world as our ancestors knew it. Be our guest and relax in tranquillity, romance and wonderful nature – without having to miss the comfort of the modern times. We try to provide you with a very relaxing stay. For the small guests, the Unsleben kindergarten offers great care options for low prices for whole-days or half-days. Children are welcome, it also includes 6-8 year old children. The kindergarten is around 200 m from the castle, it can be reached comfortably in 5 min on foot.
Cycling and hiking paradise in front of the house: The marked paths begin right by the moat. Whether with a dog, bicycle, children or just on foot – here everyone gets what they want. A walk through the charming landscape around the castle is relaxing and lets you forget everyday stress.
And those who do not want to go on a simple walk, the hiking paradise of the Rhone has nearly infinite paths in the mountain and valley, steep and flat, by the river or on the high moor.
Diverse excursion options: The surroundings invite you to go on different types of excursions: Culture in Meiningen, Wurzburg, Fulda and the surrounding area. Don’t forget in Bad Kissingen and other cities with sophisticated and comprehensive concert and theatre programs await you in the summer. Those who want to swim can go to the Triamare in Bad Neustadt/ Saale and will find fun and movement for low prices. But also a few kilometres to the lake.

Old walls, falcons and kingfisher, historic ambiance and idyll, stylish environment and an atmosphere, which is unique, will fascinate you. Washing machine usage possible for a fee. Wir waren für drei Nächte im Falkennest zu Gast. Das Wasserschloss ist ein wunderschöner Ort zum Träumen und Verweilen. Wir wurden vom Hausherren sehr nett und herzlich empfangen und es war bereits Feuer im Holzofen entfacht - einfach nur gemütlich!! Wir haben uns wirklich außerordentlich wohl gefühlt und die Urlaubstage sehr genossen. Es war für uns ganz bestimmt nicht der letzte Aufenthalt an diesem verzauberten Ort!

Das Anwesen und das Schloß entsprachen genau unseren Vorstellungen.
Von der Größe war das Appartment, für zwei Personen, genau ausreichend.
Es war alles sehr sauber und aufgeräumt und entsprach der Beschreibung im
Online-Inserat.
Die Vermieter waren jeder Zeit ansprechbar.
Es war alles vorhanden um Frühstück für zwei herzurichten.
Auch für ein Abendessen waren die entsprechenden Möglichkeiten vorhanden.
Dank der Mikrowelle haben wir uns öfter von unterwegs Essen mitgebracht.
Das Schlafzimmer war sehr schön. Nur die Schnaken haben uns ein wenig geärgert.
Dies ist aber nicht zu ändern, sondern liegt an dem Wassergraben.
Schräg gegenüber gibt es ein Restaurant. Das Essen dort ist sehr gut und preiswert.
Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bäcker, Metzger und Lebensmittelladen sind gleich um die
Ecke und es gab alles was man so brauchte.

Unser Aufenthalt auf Schloss Unsleben war sehr erholsam. Ruhe, Natur und eine besonderer Ort! Das Schloß und Unsleben bieten alles was man braucht: Schöne, gemütliche Räumlichkeiten. Die sind sehr sauber und ordentlich und bestens ausgestattet für die Selbstversorgung. Dazu gibt es im Ort: Dorfladen, Metzgerei, Bäckerei, Gasthaus und Apotheke. Und in der herrlichen Rhön gibt es schönste Natureindrücke und sogar in einen Badesee in der Nähe (Frickhäuser See). Gut, dass die Schlossherren auf diese Weise zur Erhaltung des Schlosses und des Dorflebens beitragen.

Romantik und Entspannung in einem tollen historischen Anwesen

Anlässlich eines Kurzurlaubes in der Rhön-Region suchten wir eine ganz besondere Unterkunft mit historischem Charakter. Mit dem Falkennest haben wir ein absolutes Highlight erlebt. Wir haben uns dort für 2 Nächte eingemietet.
Die Wohnung im Turm des Wasserschlosses ist wunderschön und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Kochnische samt Geschirr und Handtüchern, Schlafzimmer (im Turm) mit großem Bett, kleines aber modern ausgestattetes Bad, sehr gemütliches Wohnzimmer mit Fernseher und Radio, großem Sessel und Couch etc… es war alles vorhanden, war uns wichtig war und entsprach durchaus der Beschreibung. Sogar die Internet-Verbindung über W-LAN war ausgezeichnet. Die Wohnung ist fantastisch gelegen und gibt einen tollen Blick auf die Gärten, den Schlosshof und das Gut außerhalb des Wassergrabens. Das Schlossgut ist überhaupt sehr idyllisch und ruhig gelegen. Wir haben uns nach der Ankunft gleich wohl gefühlt, es war Entspannung pur. Das Personal hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und war sehr hilfsbereit. Unsere Gastgeber, die selbst auf Reisen waren, haben sich sehr aufmerksam gezeigt und sich aus der Ferne persönlich nach unserem Wohlbefinden erkundigt. Wenige Meter vom Wasserschloss entfernt befindet sich ein kleiner Ortsladen, wo man all das Nötige kaufen kann. Unsleben hat u.a. ein russisches Restaurant, das wir auch sehr empfehlen können. Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis ist sehr gut. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten (Kirchenburg in Ostheim, Bad Neustadt etc.) sind es nur wenige Kilometer.
Wir hatten einen ganz tollen und erholsamen Aufenthalt im Wasserschloss Unsleben und würden uns sehr freuen, dort wieder übernachten zu dürfen. Es ist absolut empfehlenswert!

The moated castle is in Unsleben, a 900-resident village, between Bad Neustadt/ Saale and Mellrichstadt. It is located peacefully on the edge of the city, yet just a few minutes on foot from all shops (Schlecker, village stores, baker, butcher, bank, doctor, pharmacy, dentist) in the village. Once you leave the castle courtyard, you will find nature. Long hiking paths on the Streu River or over the hills of the Rhone invite you to short or long excursions on foot or by bicycle. The beautiful golf course Maria Bildhausen on the monastery premises in Münnerstadt attracts golf lovers (15 min. drive away)! Slopes and ski lift are about a 20 minute drive away (for example, Wasserkuppe, Arnsber lifts, Zuckerfeld). The private castle garden invites you to rest and relax in a green environment. Historic walls surround an old family owned property, which is looking for families.
Other Activities: Canoeing, gliding and sport flying
Golf: The beautiful golf course Maria Bildhausen is a 10 minute drive from Münnerstadt. Golfers will find an 18-hole championship course and a 6-hole course in the soft hilly landscapes of the Rhone. The special thing about this course is that even here you can have the feeling of freedom while golfing even if 200 people are playing at the same time. The well-designed course – two circuits – makes this possible. The golf course is the only golf course owned and located on the premises of a monastery!
Ski: A 20 minute drive away from Unsleben, you can reach the popular ski regions in the Rhone. This includes the Kreuzberg, the Wasserkuppe, Zuckerfeld, etc. In the skiing and snowing paradise Wasserkuppe you will also find excellent sledding conditions, even with a sledding lift. Unsleben itself has a small sledding slope, which allows for a lot of fun for both the young and the old.
