About the apartment:

This Parisian vacation rental is located on the 3rd floor of a secure residential apartment building and is accessible by elevator, through a coded door and then with an individual key.

Upon entering the apartment, the hallway opens up into the living and kitchen area. The kitchen is bright, modern and fully equipped for your stay. There is a 4-plate electric cooker, a full sized refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker and kettle. Full sets of cutlery and crockery are provided along with pots and pans to help you cook some of the delicious French produce available nearby as well as a full sized dining table that will comfortably seat 4 people. The lounge area is tastefully decorated and has a comfortable sofa area and ottoman. From the large windows in this room, you can gaze over the iconic Parisian rooftops and onto the Notre Dame cathedral!

Back off the entryway you have the master bathroom with a combination bath/shower, double his and hers hand washbasins, washing machine and separated toilet for your convenience. A clothes drying rack, iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience. There is also a hair dyer in the flat so no need to pack one! Complementary toilet rolls, shower gel, shampoo and hand soap are also included to start of your stay. Luxury bath towels are also provided for each guest.

Moving through the apartment, you pass a large cupboard in the hallway so that you can store all of your clothes and belongings during your stay. Just opposite is the first bedroom. This also has plenty of storage space, two bedside tables and a large comfortable double bed. This room has a set of double doors that lead through into the Master Bedroom. The master bedroom also has a double bed and a wall mounted flat screen television with a mix of French, English and foreign language channels. From this bedroom, you have 3 large double glazed windows from which you can look out onto the hustle and bustle of the streets below, whilst staying in the tranquillity of your private apartment. An additional single rollaway bed is available to sleep a fifth guest if necessary. .All bedding, sheets and pillows are provided and you will find the beds neatly made on arrival

The apartment is heated throughout during the winter months. There is no air conditioning but we will be happy to provide you with fans for your stay should warm weather be in the forecast. A member of our Welcoming Team will meet you upon arrival, give you the keys and a tour of the apartment and its appliances, help you to connect to the Wi-Fi and more. You’ll find a personal guidebook in the apartment with tips and suggestions on where to eat and shop in Paris.

About the 6th Arrondissement:

If you weren’t yet convinced to book from the apartment itself, just consider the property’s location right in the center of Saint Germain des Pres. This famous Left Bank neighbourhood, known as the “Rive Gauche” to Parisians, has been a long time-favourite of intellectuals and artists. At your doorstep you’ll find a huge array of restaurants, bistrots, cafés, ice cream parlours, florists, artisan chocolatiers, art galleries and much more! Be sure to make a stop at Le Bon Marché during your stay in the 6th Arrondissement.

Within walking distance of the apartment are the must-see Luxembourg Gardens, perfect for a morning jog, afternoon picnic or sunset stroll. The River Seine is also within walking distance so you can go to the Louvre or Notre Dame easily on foot. The Latin Quarter is a stone’s throw away with sights such as La Sorbonne and the newly refurbished Pantheon. Walk over to Le Marais district for shopping and dining on Sunday while the rest of the city is at rest.

With its close proximity to the metro station Odeon (Lines 4 and 10), accessing other areas of the capital is extremely easy. Just hop on the Metro to reach the Eiffel Towel, Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur and more!

Wonderful property in an excellent location

Our family of four adults spent 5 days here and had a wonderful time. The host's assistant was waiting for us to arrive and she took the time to show us all the features of the flat and also provided useful information on the area as far as where to eat, where to grab groceries, where to see a film in English, etc. The flat itself was well maintained and all features worked properly. There's some great views from the living room and Master bedroom, tres Parisian! The location was near mass transit - Metro and buses, hop-on/hop-off tour stops and an assortment of restaurants, cafes and bars. Shopping was nearby and plentiful. Notre Dame was only a 15 minute walk away. We had no issues during our stay and our deposit was returned in full by VRBO one week after our departure. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for centrally located apartment in the heart of Paris.

Living in Saint Germain!

My husband and I stayed here with my in-laws during our visit to Paris. We have always been drawn to this neighborhood and loved the looks of the place based on the listing. It was just as depicted - spacious and bright with high ceilings. Rather tranquil setting in spite of the fact that it's right in the city center. The city views were a big plus too. There's a full kitchen honestly we didn’t even use it as there were so many bistros and cafes to try in the area. Sunday brunch seems to be very popular too, there’s a place called “Un Dimanche a Paris” (Sunday in Paris) just on the cross-street in the little cobbled alleyway behind the flat with a very nice brunch and exquisite desserts. The flat has been well cared for and it was clean on our arrival. The damage deposit was returned to us 7 by VRBO days after checkout. Would come here again in a heartbeat.

Very Good Location

Beautiful apartment with a very good location - literally steps away from the Odéon Metro stop, down the street from the swanky Saint Germain des Pres area and a few minutes to the fun Saint Michel district. An overwhelming number of restaurants, bars, bakeries, cinemas and shops are nearby - the problem isn't finding one, it is deciding which one to go to! Fantastic cobblestoned streets to walk in the back alleyway, great Italian restaurant next door (you must try the lemon tiramisou!). Easy access to various tourist attractions. Kitchen simple, but efficient and well equipped. Beds are very comfortable. Big, sunny living room with a bird's eye view of Notre Dame. Friendly, attentive staff who did everything to accommodate us. Would certainly rent again.

Vibrant neighborhood

Elizabeth, who met us, was lovely. She was wairing for us when we arrived. We had asked for an early check in and offered to pay for it because we arrived early in the morning. I could not get an acknowledgement of my request and indeed instead of the 3pm check in I was told I could not get in until 4. Lizzie stepped in on the day of our arrival and offered to meet us at 2:30, which was very much appreciated. Great location for a home base. As others posted, the property could use a little attention and some additional kitchenware and utensils (sharp knife, large cutting board, more (or a larger) ice trays). The dishwasher was broken and someone came but went to the wrong apartment (?) or so I was told. I contacted them again and they said they would come but never did. On further examination it appeared the DW had not been working for some time. On another poster's advice we asked for fans because of the heat and two were kindly left but only one worked. Again I asked for a replacement but got no response. It is incredibly loud at night with noise from the cafes below, which is understandable, but just know that. And one of the neighbors had a party one night that went on past 3 am. I found this ironic bc of all of the admonitions in the guest book and instructions to please stay quiet and remove ones shoes so as not to bother the neighbors. Renting a flat is absolutely the way to go in Paris, this location is a prime one, and Lizzie was very kind and knowledgeable. Plenty of bath towels provided, it was great to have the washing machine, and if the DW works it is even a better place. Don't know if it is less "vibrant" in the winter when folks are not eating outside but, if so, this is a great home base. Also, I would just note that the insistence that one pay cash and ignore the email from HomeAway that permits the final payment by credit card to be a little inconvenient. I really did not like traveling with $1000 in euros on me because of the need to pay cash in person.

As noted on the listing, and in all of our correspondence with you, we cannot guarantee check-in appointments before 3PM as we require time to clean and prepare the flat for arrival after the previous guests depart in the morning. We are happy we were able to accommodate your check-in appointment slightly earlier on the day of your arrival. We are also happy to know you appreciated the great location of the apartment in Saint Germain, which is hard to beat. Like any flat in the heart of the city, some normal city noise is to be expected and can take a little getting used to for guests who come from cities a bit calmer than Paris. This is especially true during the summer months when you may choose to sleep with the windows open. We would like to apologize for the fact that the kitchen was missing a few items; with a small request via phone or email we could have had them delivered. We would like to assure you that these items have now been replaced and the dishwasher is in good working order. We would also like to apologise about the noise from the neighbours, we have discussed with them to ensure that this does not happen again as mutual respect of each other is required in order to peacefully cohabitate in the same building. We are sorry you did not like the method of payment; again this was noted on the listing. If it is really a problem for a future visit, we can always find a reasonable solution for everyone. Maureen, we hope this has not affected your overall opinion of us and we would be grateful to be given a second chance to host you in the future. As we have many apartments throughout Paris, there is surely one that will fit what you are looking for in terms of location, noise level, amenities and more. Good location but expensive for size of the apartment

While this is in a buzzy part of the 6th bring earplugs as it is a fairly noisy at night especially with the windows open. And I certainly wouldn't call this apartment a two bedroom apartment. The second bedroom has no window and there is just a curtain/sliding door between the master bedroom as this other room. Also, when I arrived the couch was filthy. The owner did eventually replace the couch covers but only after two weeks of my one month stay. I stayed in another apartment for another month right after this one on the border of the 6th/7th. And it was so much nicer with views of the Tour Eiffel for about the same price. So long and short there are much nicer apartments then this one for the same price.

As with any flat located in the heart of the city, a little city noise is to be expected from time to time, but the fact that you can walk to most touristic sights in the city from there definitely helps to make up for it. We understand that every sleeper can have a different sensitive to noise, and we suggest that those who are not used to such city sounds use ear plugs at night if it prevents them from getting a good night's rest. We would like to sincerely apologize for the fact that you did not appreciate the condition of the sofa on your arrival, and as we explained to you during your stay, we replaced the sofa covers as quickly as we could, having to custom-order them and wait for their delivery. We appreciate your patience while we addressed this matter. We do hope you will give us a second chance to host you in the future as we have many apartments and there is surely one that better suits your needs and expectations in terms of size, noise level and location. We would be happy to provide you with discounted rates as we value our returning guests.
