About Property Manager/Owner

Hello! We are Doug and Barbara Johnston and our “main” home is in Bakersfield, California. At every opportunity, we escape to the peace and relaxation we have in our "Craftsman Home" at Prescott! We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do.

Doug Johnston purchased this home in 2015

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Arizona

During the many years we’ve traveled abroad, we always kept an eye open for a “getaway place” to enjoy and perhaps even live one day. A laid back place that was slow and relaxed and yet one that offered a variety of activities that would keep things fresh and exciting. On our most recent trip to Prescott Arizona we knew we'd found what we were looking for. With it's warm, friendly people – we knew we found the perfect destination.

When we first saw the Craftsman home, it was all over. We'd found a beautiful home that was easily accessible to the Town of Prescott and yet far enough away to retain it’s exclusivity, yes….we knew this was the right place….the little piece of paradise that we could call our own! Quaint and stunningly impressive with it's Craftsman style and lost in the woods feel we bought and we’ve not had one regret!

What makes this house unique

Feels like home, light, bright, open floor plan with all the amenities needed to be at home, while away from home. Closeness to all that the Prescott area has to offer.

It just doesn't get much better then this.

Beautiful home in a wonderful area of Prescott!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in this beautiful home. We couldn't ask for a nicer place to enjoy the mountain summer. The location is perfect - a quiet neighborhood convenient to downtown Prescott, restaurants, golf courses. What more could we ask for? The home is beautifully designed and decorated. Everything we needed was there. Loved sitting on the front porch in the morning and dining outside in the evenings. Doug and Barb have a wonderful property and are such nice people. Anything we needed was just a phone call away. We feel very lucky to have been able to stay here and look forward to visiting again next summer. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from my second stay in this home, and I hope to return in the future. One of my favorite things about it is the wonderful outdoor space. Prescott weather in June is generally comfortable in the shade, and this home allows me to enjoy the front porch in the cool mornings. Then the back patios are lovely for the afternoon and evening when I am not out doing something else. I also love walking in the early mornings, and the mature trees of the neighborhood make for a perfect walking environment where I don't have to worry about the heat of the high altitude sun. The home is located within walking distance of downtown if you can handle the hills, and the historic homes in the neighborhood add to the beautiful scenery. It is beautifully decorated and furnished with high quality appliances, furniture and linens. With the master bedroom on the main level with the living area and the other two bedrooms and bath downstairs, it is a very livable space. Thank you, Doug, for sharing your lovely home with me again!

GREAT LOCATION & HOUSE

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our small family gathering. The house is great and located near Safeway and the Prescott Courthouse Square. The patio area was a great way to enjoy a fire and reflect on the day.

Beautiful house and Fantastic Location in Prescott!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures looked great, and the actual house exceeded the pictures! The house is in an excellent location, you can walk to downtown Prescott. The house is immaculate and tastefully decorated! The multi level house suited our needs perfectly! The owners have thought of everything! The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. plates, etc. The view of the night sky was the clearest I have seen in many years.

The outdoor fireplace was a favorite spot for us to spend the evening in front of it.

The owners have stocked house with movies, books and games for your entertainment. The weather was perfect when we were there the 3rd week in May.

We will definitely rent this house again! Thank you for a great vacation week!
