2 Bedroom Townhouse With Air Conditioning Plunge Pool & Tropical Patio

9 Porters Gate is a new air conditioned town house on the beautiful West Coast of the island minutes from the beach. The spacious ground floor is open plan leading onto a tropical patio with it's own plunge pool. The modern kitchen is ideal for conjuring up those Caribbean culinary delights. Choose to eat at either the breakfast bar or at the dining table or maybe dine outside where you may spot a monkey on the fence or a humming bird hovering at the Hibiscus! Relax on comfortable sofas and maybe watch DVD's or listen to your favourite track on the ipod dock. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, balcony, dressing room and en suite bathroom with a marble vanity area and a corner bath. The second bedroom has twin beds, balcony and en suite bathroom with a walk in shower and marble vanity unit. The tranquil secure development consists of 28 town houses, has a communal swimming pool and tennis court.

Additional Services:: We aim to make your stay on the island as pleasurable and trouble free as possible. To this end our local representative will meet you at the house during your stay and introduce you to the property and it's features. We arrange a once weekly maid / cleaning service with fresh linen provided. Additional staff are available at an additional cost with a cook being a very popular choice! Additional maids' visits can also be arranged along with taxi / car hire should the requirement be needed. A taxi can also be arranged to meet you at the airport if you do not wish to hire a car. Our local representative will discuss any requirements you may have when you arrive and will always be on hand to help with any queries or recommendations you may have. Any additional services you may wish to use will be charged for locally.

Porters Gate - A Fantastic Property

We had a terrific 10 days in Barbados at Porters Gate. It was just perfect! We have rented a number of properties over the years and this is by far the best we have ever had.

It was a great base for us and with the hire car saw all of the Island, as well as enjoying the local beaches and JuJu's Beach Bar on a number of occasions.

Porters Gate and the complex was perfect for us and our 2 teenage boys! The location was close to the beach and Hopetown, and as the Island isn't big, we managed to see a lot in our stay!

Thanks again for letting us rent your property! We were delighted with our visit.

Home from home in paradise!

This was our 2nd stay at Porters Gate and once again we were not disappointed. The location is perfect as it is only a 10 minute stroll down to the beach, 5 minute drive down in to Holetown, and perfectly located to enjoy peace and tranquility. There are 2 decent size bedrooms both with en-suite, a downstairs WC, large living room and kitchen, air conditioning throughout and to the rear of the property is a small garden with plunge pool which is a real suntrap in the afternoon. We regularly had a couple of monkeys sitting on the roof of the garden shed eating papayas stolen from a neighbours tree on a morning whilst we ate our breakfast. The Porters Gate complex is very secure and all of the residents and holiday makers who live there are very friendly.

It was lovely once again to meet with Rachel who looks after the property during your stay, she is always professional and keen to hear where you have visited during your stay and make suggestions about other trips to take whilst you are there. The house was serviced twice during our 2 week stay and the pool man also visited twice.

Dealing with the owners back in the UK is perfect from original enquiry through to booking through to pre-stay information and then the follow-up on your return are all excellent and I would highly recommend both the owners and their amazing townhouse for that dream holiday in Barbados.

Perfect location and wonderful vacation

We rented 9 Porters Gate for our recent vacation (3/20/16 to 3/28/16). The property and the location was perfect! Loved that we could slip right out of the back gate and begin the 5 min walk to the beach. There were 4 of us (two teenagers) and it met all of our needs. The girls enjoyed swimming in both pools daily. We rented a car from Brothers Rental - and these guys were great would highly recommend. Rachel the property manager was great as well. Richard and Wendy the owners are very easy to work with and very helpful! The locals are so friendly and eager to help with directions etc.

A must do is a visit to Earthworks Pottery - we made a couple of trips! We visited the east side of the island and the south coast and were happy that we chose this location (quiet and calm seas).

Restaurant Recommendations: Just Grillin, Lemongrass, Spago @ Sugar Hill, Fish Pot, Surfside beach bar, street food (down by sandy lane) was delicious and of course went to the Oistins fish fry.

The beaches were incredible - loved the morning walks. We wanted to take conch shells home but could not find any so we found "Earl" @ the John Moore Bar (on the left heading north towards Speightstown) who is a conch fisherman so we got some from him (great guy).

Thank you for sharing your vacation home - we truly enjoyed our vacation and will definitely come again!

Beautiful Porters Gate

This is the most wonderful, beautifully presented property that I have had the pleasure to stay in whilst in Barbados. It is a true home from home.

In a quiet location but only a ten minute stroll to the wonderful west coast beach and yet only a three minute bus ride into Holetown for fabulous restaurants and shopping.

On the beach look out for Juju,s Beach Bar, rent a bed ( off Freddie, ) tell him I recommended him , relax, drink a rum punch, it doesn't get any better.

Knowing when you return after a hard day you can relax in the private plunge pool, bliss..

If you want somewhere to stay in Barbados, look no further. This is the forth time I have stayed in Richard and Wendy's after renting other properties. I think that says it all

Perfect stay!

We are a family from Sweden and we stayed at #9 Porters Gate 2 weeks in December 2015 with our two teenagers. The house was absolutely beautiful - clean, spacious and perfect for a family of four. We enjoyed having breakfast, lunch and dinner in the back patio at the plunge pool, sometimes in the company of a hummingbird or a monkey! ; )

The location is great, close to beautiful beaches and the local supermarket at Holetown. We also really enjoyed the tennis court (a few steps from the door!)

The owner Richard and the property Manager Rachel were really friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic time in Barbados and Porters Gate and would love to return!

Fantastic vacations !

We rented 9 Porter gate for 2 weeks. The location is perfect, short car drive to west coast beaches, grocery store and restaurants. Heron Bay (at Colony Club), less than 3 minutes by car, was one of the nicest and quiet beach we went to. There is a watersport center at Colony Club where it is possible to rent any kind of water sport stuff, and a scuba diving center that we recommend. We were very happy to rent a property on this side of the island since beaches on the south of Barbados were "invaded" by seaweed when we were there, but west coast beaches are not affected by this and were impeccable. The property is very well maintained, the kitchen is also well equipped with all we needed to prepare lunch and dinner. There's a grocery store less than 10 minutes by car going south, and a fish market about 10 minutes north. Because of the nice breeze it was very comfortable and we never had to use air conditioned on the 1st floor. We were afraid about the cost of electricity and were happy to see it cost us less than 80 pounds, which is very reasonable for 2 weeks. Our daughter loved the plunged pool where it was very pleasant after an entire day at the beach. It is a nice place to relax, it is very quiet and we felt like home from day one. There is a larger pool on site and a tennis court where we played each day. The owner Richard was very helpful. He suggested a car rental company and a catamaran cruise and gave us an entire list of “must do” things. Since it was our 1st trip to Barbados we asked him a lot of questions, he was always very nice and answered all of them. Rachel, the property manager that met us on our arrival and departure was also very kind. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to relax. It is definitely not a place for people looking to party, that was perfect for us, we were there to relax. If we come back, it will be there without a doubt !

Barbados has near perfect weather, direct flights and old world charm. The townhouse at St James is perfectly positioned minutes from stunning beaches on the West Coast and the shopping amenities at nearby Holetown. Many water sports are available including snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, water-skiing and four fabulous golf courses are in close proximity. Swim in warm crystal clear waters see the turtles or maybe chilll out at a local beach bar. The Lone Star Restaurant, the Ivy of the Caribbean, is two minutes by car and is a fabulous treat for lunch or dinner! Amenities such as banks, bars, supermarket, post-office, medical centre, cyber cafe and duty free shopping are all but a half a mile away. There are many beach front restaurants catering for all budgets lining the palm fringed shoreline. A stop at Second Street in Holetown is a must for those who wish to dance into the small hours.

The development does not provide any form of pool supervision and caution must be therefore taken at all times with younger children at both pool areas. A safe is provided along with a telephone (local calls are free but international calls are barred from this handset) WiFi is provided. Please note that electricity IS NOT included in the rental cost and is charged on a 'pay as you use' basis at £22.00 per 100 units used.
