Located along the "Tween Waters" section on Captiva Drive; The Captiva Cove House is located on a 2.5 acre lot. Captiva Cove is a classic, Florida cottage built in 1950 with that "Olde Florida" feel.
The location of the home is nearly impossible to beat. The Gulf of Mexico is about 100 feet from the front door and the Pine Island Sound Bay is about 130 feet from the back of the property It also has a spetacular dock as well as a large backyard with a deck, BBQ grill, and one of the largest private, heated pools on Captiva.. So, you can swim in the ocean after breakfast, take a dip in the pool after lunch, and then catch your dinner off the dock in the afternoon or do a little kayaking.
The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and 3 TVs and DVD Player. The detached guest house has a living room area with a sleeper sofa, a mini fridge, microwave, and a half bathroom.

We recently rented this home through Royal Shell. The location is incredible and we enjoyed our stay on Captiva. One of our favorite places to visit! However, the house needs a LOT of maintenance and the photos don't reveal the enormous construction project right next door. The heated pool was a big feature for us, but the heater was broken from our arrival on Saturday until Tuesday evening. That left us with a VERY cold pool for 3-1/2 days. We did request an adjustment in our rental bill for not having a working pool and Royal Shell has yet to contact me to even acknowledge my request. The house needs work on lots of little things like sliding glass doors that stick in the track, etc. Its an older home (my guess, built in the late 50's or early 60's) and hasn't seen many improvements since. If you want to be right on the beach and don't mind a home that is more like a simple cottage, than look here. However, I don't think we will rent this property again.
