We stayed at this property during the Spring Break weekend, 2017. We are a family of 5 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house provides decent space and half hour drive to Mammoth Caves. We cooked at home, if not access to restaurants were a 20 minute drive. If you are looking for away from chaos and bustle of city stay , this place will not disappoint you . Do check out the lovely recreation center and lake 3 mile drive from the property. The lake near the house was till feeding of the spring rains, yet lovely.
We had a wonderful time and it fit our needs perfectly.
Enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving. Kitchen a bit small for cooking a large meal, but we made it work! House is very nice and comfortable. A bit disappointed that access to the lake was challenging and the end by us was dried out. Had a great time, Maya was great to work with and answered questions right away.
When we arrived it felt inviting. Maya truly left the lights on, what a warm touch. It had everything we needed to feel at home. Well equipped with cookware, utensils etc.
It was a girlfriend weekend so we talked more than cooked. So many area to gather and visit, from the large deck to living room and game room.
I give a thanks to Maya for going the extra mile. I left something behind and she sent it to me priority mail. Great care and attention to her guest. Would love to plan another weekend!
When we turned down the road to the house, we were not sure what to expect. The surrounding homes were not very nice. However, this home is very pleasant, well-kept, comfortable and clean. We traveled with our adult children and enjoyed hiking and a day trip to Nashville. This home is easy to feel comfortable in and relax. We cooked most of our meals and it seems that the kitchen could use a few more cooking utensils.
My family and I stayed at this home for a weekend and threw a small surprise party for my Aunt who turned 100. It was a wonderful event and this home is so comfortable. The owners had everything we might need. It was clean and we had plenty of room. The weather was beautiful and the event went off without a hitch. I would definitely recommend it. The home isn't exactly on the lake and there is no view. You had to walk to an access to be able to see the lake. That didn't matter to us though.
Be sure to check out Haebegger's Amish Market, as they have the best ice cream and pies around. There are loads of local antique stores, Bowling Green and Glasgow boast a thriving local arts scene, the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center has new shows all the time, and there is a Casino at the Downs in Franklin if you so desire. Mammoth Caves is about 40 minutes away, and Lost River Caves is located just south of Bowling Green. Cheney's Dairy farm is always a fun Family attraction. The annual Glasgow Highland Games is super close by at the Barren River State Park. The State Park is chock full of adventures too! They have horseback riding stables, golf, tennis, and a couple different playgrounds for the kids as well as the State Marina facilities and a full service restaurant with spectacular views of the lake! There is so much to do in the area, it's impossible to list!
