Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for providing us with the use of your awesome cabin. Everything here was perfect and we had ourselves an amazing time. The view of the river and all the activity on it this weekend was fun to watch. Thanks again for everything and we will certainly be back soon.

We love to stay in cabins but this was our FAVORITE! It is so cozy and beautiful and is stocked with everything you need. All you need to do is bring your food. We cooked our meals and then enjoyed them out on the peaceful deck. The views of the river are amazing and we loved sitting on the dock fishing and watching the boats go by. We paddled up and down the river in the canoe provided and also enjoyed a bonfire each evening. We really needed a relaxing weekend away from our busy lives, and this cabin was absolutely perfect!

We were disappointed

  • 2 of 5

We were looking forward to a quiet cabin vacation but we were disappointed.

-The cabin was a nice little cabin but was not clean. The owners did give us a cleaning refund but we expect a vacation place to be clean.

-The satellite TV was not working and had to call the owners about it. They did suggest reseting it, which we did, and we got it to work but there should be instructions on how to do this.

-2 miles of gravel road to drive on to get to the cabin, very dusty drive, but it's not dusty at the cabin.

-There is a highway to the west of the cabin and you can hear the trucks on the highway. So we didn't have a peaceful morning sitting on the deck watching the river. To bad since it's a beautiful view.

-We wanted to use the canoe but when I turned it over it had spider webs and spiders in it so we didn't use it. We feel that if you rent a place it should be ready to go. That's what your paying for.

-We feel this rental needs some TLC. The photos didn't represent it current state.

Owner's Response: We were saddened that this couple did not enjoy their stay. They called us to inform us that there was a dead fly on the top of the refrigerator and grass on the walk leading up to the cabin. We always spray the inside of the cabin for insects and doors simply opening and closing can cause flies to enter and subsequently die. Also the highway is over 4 miles away from our cabin, and as he mentioned it is on a gravel road and that is what helps to make it more secluded. We love our cabin and we have never had a couple complain before but we will take their criticisms to heart and make needed changes. Cabins however are not hotel rooms.

Relaxing Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This cabin worked out wonderfully for our family. The beautiful deck sets a view that you can't help but just sit back and relax! The canoe got some miles on it as our teenage boys floated up and down the river. The weather was perfect. The amenities provided were appreciated and the neighbors were friendly. It was difficult to pack up and go home since we all agreed that we would like to stay for a few more days!

Relaxing, Comfortable Stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the cabin very much. Everything we needed for a relaxing family get together. Especially enjoyed the grill and all the amenities provided for grilling. For August, the weather was perfect and the nights were cool and comfortable sitting on the deck enjoying the river and watching the boats. Wish we would have had time to take the canoe out, but that is a nice amenity to enjoy. We would recommend staying here to anyone that is looking for some time away. You do have to travel on a gravel road to get there, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this cabin.

Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd time we have stayed and absolutely love it here! Kids and hubby spent most of their days fishing and canoeing. I relaxed on the beautiful deck and enjoyed peace and quiet. Spent nights by the fire making smores and reconnecting as a family. Cabin is well equipped and inviting. We hope to make the trip again next summer. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place!
