About Keith Kyle

I have been coming up to Mammoth since the 1970s when I was a kid and while we originally came up just for skiing we found that the peace and quiet of summer was just as nice. Eventually my family sold their condo but my wife and I have been renting ever since and we have wanted to become owners so that we could visit our 'home' instead of always staying in different, and somewhat random places. We finally had the opportunity to buy a bank owned condo in 2011 and after much work it's been transformed into the place we always wanted. With two kids that now love Mammoth as much as we do we come up as often as possible and love both summer and winter.

Why Keith Kyle chose Gold Country / High Sierra

Bigwood has a community feel which we haven't experienced at other condo complexes. Most of the units are not used as rentals and most owners either live there or visit frequently and you seem to see the same people over and over which is certainly fun for the kids. In addition the road ends just a few hundred feet down Majestic Pines as it runs into Sierra Star Golf Club so there is virtually no traffic and is very quiet. The individual garage and 2 ski lockers made it perfect for the winter as well.

What makes this townhome unique

We loved the location of Bigwood as it's close to everything but not too close. It's a great summer condo as it's just a short bike ride to town, the Village and to the lakes and winter feels like you're a bit out of town, even though you're right in between The Village and Eagle. Bigwood is located at the very end of Majestic Pines so not much traffic and it's just up the street from the golf course which makes for good walks in the summer and winter.

Clean, Well-Furnished and Perfect Location

Our family loved the condo, it was roomy and well-kept. Our host, Keith, was quick to answer any questions we had and was more than accommodating with check in and out times. We would definitely stay here again!

Not what we expected

The place looks nicer in the pictures. It's not so bright and clean as it is in pictures. The place was full of DUST. The beds in upstairs were covered by dust, also livingroom's tables were full of dust. And one of the kitchen's chair was broken. We tried to call the phone numbers which were mentioned on the introduction book in the house but they never answered on our callings. One kettle was so used and the covering was almost off so it was a health issue, we did't use it. I think the price was too high for what you get. No service and communication not worked.

Owner's Response: I'm so sorry to hear that things were not as expected. We take pride in our condo being nicer than anything you could book in the same price range and we personally use it with our family all of the time. I'm not quite sure about the dust, but it's strange that there were communication problems. I give every renter my cell phone and make it clear that if ANYTHING comes up to contact me. I never received a call so unfortunately I couldn't address any of the concerns. As mentioned we use the condo frequently ourselves and I was up about two weeks later and didn't notice a broken chair so not sure how to address that? The condo does get used pretty continually in December and January and things do occassionally need to be addressed as there is a lot of wear and tear during those months but unfortunately I couldn't address what I wasn't aware of. I strive to only have happy renters so I really am sorry that it didn't live up to expectations.

Very Clean and as Advertised

Condo is exactly as advertised. It was very clean and a perfect layout for our busy 14 month old daughter. The garage was not tall enough to accommodate our lifted Tundra, but there was plenty of parking just at the end of the building. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had during our stay. We'd certainly recommend this condo to our friends and family and stay here ourselves again in the future.

Perfect condo!

This condo is perfect for an extended weekend stay in Mammoth! Public transportation for the mountain is walking distance which we loved and there are lots of trails around for some exploration! The condo is in a great location that is close to everything and has lots of amenities including the jacuzzi is only a few feet away! Owner is great to work with. Highly recommended! We will definitely be coming back!

Great long weekend trip!

We had a great stay at this condo for our long weekend ski trip in Mammoth. It was close to everything, the unit reflected the pictures and description, and the owner was responsive and great to deal with. I'd recommend it!
