Large Home on over 10 acres near Saint Jean du Gard - Wireless Internet

This 18th Century Watermill with a private swimming pool is located in a peaceful rural area with over 10 acres of private land, boarding the Gardon River, at the foothills of the Cevennes Mountains. The property is fully equipped with wireless internet, DVD and CD player as well as a large loaded kitchen and full size washer/dryer. The Gardon River flows across the property, 200 steps from the house. If you are looking for a peacefully retreat and love nature this is the place for you. This house has been rented for over 10 years all guest agree the location is amazing. We have worked hard to keep this place up to date and well maintained with a traditional feel but modern conveniences including wireless internet, dishwasher, large outdoor grill and industrial stove top.

Art and Photography Workshop: We offer organized Art and Photography workshops on specific dates from the West Mill property. The pricing for these are all inclusive including, instruction by a full-time instructor, lodging at the West Mill, 3-course meals prepared by local host family and transportation to local excursions. About Kirsten Apple

I am an American that lived in London, England for 4 years and feel in love with France. I have owned and loved the West Mill for over a decade and it is my home away for home. My two children both speak French and enjoy it with me. I current live in Falls Church, Virginia in the Washington DC area.

Why Kirsten Apple chose Lasalle - Cevennes Valleys

Everyone falls in love with the 'situation' of this property. A historic stone water mill on the river. For me this is my favorite place on earth. I bought the property without seeing the inside because when I stood by the river I feel in love. I have spent many years renovating the property from new pool, new roof, new electricity and continue to make major improvements on an annual basis.

What makes this house unique

You are steps from the river. You feel like the whole world is yours because you do not see any neighbors on this large property and you can enjoy nature all around you. You also are just minutes for some wonderful unspoiled small French towns. If you are lucky you might see the farmer across the river walking his goat in the morning sun - a true escape from the city to the peace of the French country side and beautiful nature.

We loved the house. It suited us very well; a big party of adults and young people with not much taste for bright lights and a talent for building dams and lying around in hammocks. The house is quirky, and definitely not ritzy, but somehow it absorbed us all and it just worked - bathrooms, kitchens, garden, eating, cooking, different bed times, different waking up times - everything. We spent ages by the river. It was great.

The WestMill is really a calm and beautiful place!

There's a small river just aside the house to spend time.

Everything is provided (pool, kitchen, towels,...).

Booking is easy and communication smooth and very friendly.

I guess it's attractive for both family holidays or a stay with friends.

You'll find a lot of nice restaurants, picturesque villages, rough mountains (climbing, hiking) and lively markets in the region.

The house is located five minutes for a traditional French town of Saint Jean du Gard, which still has outdoor market on Tuesdays. It also is close to the Pont du Gard (famous Roman aqueduct - 45 minutes), the town of Anduze (25 minutes), Uzes (40 minutes) and within 1-2 hours of the larger towns of Nimes, Avignon, Montpellier, Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence and Arles. The house is situated in the Languedoc-Rousillion region on the boarder of Provence. This region is know for it's winemaking with lots of local vineyards and cooperatives and other artisans food and arts. The house 'guide book' is compiled with lots of notes from pass guest about the restaurants and actives they enjoyed on their visit.
