The community of Locust Lake village has much to offer. Take a 4 minute walk to Pines Lake beach, or step outside your back door into state game lands #127. In the winter, enjoy the village's two ski slopes or the sledding hill. Badges are required and available at the main office.

There is so much to do in the Pocono Lake area. A short drive takes you to major ski resorts, championship golf, hiking, and adventure. Split Rock, Jack Frost, and the newly expanded Kalahari indoor water park are 15 minutes away. Experience the excitement of the Pocono Raceway, the Mt. Airy Casino, Camelback Resort or travel to Scranton or Wilkes Barre for sporting and cultural events. The area also features numerous farmers markets and antique shops, as well as outlet shopping.

About Craig and Sue Snyder

Craig and Sue Snyder live in Garnet Valley, PA. We are both music teachers who enjoy the outdoors.

Craig and Sue Snyder purchased this chalet in 2015

Why Craig and Sue Snyder chose Locust Lake Village

We always wanted a place in the mountains where we could hike, golf, kayak, and most importantly, just relax. This property is perfect for us and we hope it will be perfect for your vacation. We have renovated the chalet from top to bottom and continue to make improvements.

What makes this chalet unique

This home could not be in a better location in the village. For families, being able to walk to the beach on the largest lake in the development is amazingly convenient. For hunters, you are able to step right off the property into the state game lands. And for skiers, the village boasts two private slopes as well as proximity to the greatest skiing in the Poconos.

But it's the property itself that is the real attraction. The pine paneled ceiling with its recessed lighting and skylights creates that "vacation home" feeling as soon as you walk in. The main room is a wonderful place to gather and play board games. The sleeping loft is great for the kids, while the adults can enjoy the privacy of two downstairs bedrooms. Our kitchen has all the conveniences of home, and you can do your laundry right on the premises.

Outside, we are proud to have one of the few grass backyards in the development, with room to throw the ball or frisbee around. Our fire pit is yours to use (wood not provided) and includes 8 Adirondack chairs. The deck is a great place to relax and eat your meals in the crisp mountain air. Sit outside in the early morning or dusk and catch a glimpse of white tailed deer in the woods, or just enjoy the absence of lawn mowers, street and air traffic, air conditioners, and other noisemakers that invade our lives. When you spend your vacation at our chalet, you will only notice the quiet, the fresh air, and your proximity to nature.

Excellent Family Getaway Rental

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I made a last minute short getaway to the Poconos, and this chalet was the perfect fit. With seven beds there is plenty of room for a larger group, but we really enjoyed the cleanliness, amenities and overall cozy feel of this rental. Sue and Craig were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. We hope to come back next summer.

We are always excited to bring friends/family to share all the exciting things to do here. Whether it's chilling by the beautiful lake in the summer or taking in the scenic view of multi-colored leaves in the Fall, there is always something to do here!

Cute, cozy, accommodating...

  • 5 of 5

Slept 8 COMFOrTABLY. Caught up with family around a huge fire pit.. Fully functioning kitchen. A few of us had to bring fans to sleep with, but it could be because we all love to sleep in Arctic weather. Mind you, this was in September. And was 80* during the day.... Ceiling fan in living room helped keep air flowing so it never got too hot in there. But we did plan ahead to bring fans.

There's a pretty big side deck great for picnicking. Lots of parking space. Located within walking distance of Locust Lake and beach. Maybe 2 blocks. Has a little playground there too. This house has a lot to offer.. I could go on and on. Loved it.

Edited: They also responded very quickly. Provided alternative choices for contract submission. I contacted them Sunday night, was paid and ready by Monday night. Could've went quicker, if it weren't for me.

Nice and friendly chalet

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in the Poconos once again. The Locus Lake Village is beautiful and friendly to visitors as well as their pets. The community is located in the quiet area in the middle of land covered with woods surrounding small lakes and creeks - picturesque and inviting for long walks and hiking at the same time. The chalet is small but very clean, beautifully decorated, modern but with a distinct rustique touch. The mattresses are very comfortable. Kitchen appears to be newly renovated and is well equipped in all necessary utensils. You can also relax or have dinner at the large porch. Altogether - very good place for people loving the close contact with nature and some comfort at the same time.

The property was great walking distance from Lake Pine on Stag Road.

  • 5 of 5

The property was within minutes of walking distance of Lake Pine. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We wish we could have sat outside on deck but bugs were incredible but we enjoyed the scenery from inside as well. But for us the main bedroom bed was too small for us our only let down, an incredible house! We went to the Tannersville outlets for shopping, willkesbarre for shopping, we rented a kayak for a day from the PA Boat House on Rte. 904, we spent a day at CamelBack outdoor water park, fished on lake pine & East Lake. We shopped at Walmart, Ahart's, Wine & Spirits, & PA Boat House. We ate At Dominic' s Pizza on Rte. 904 one night, great food. We even seen a black bear, a couple deer families and a lot of other outdoor life.

It was an amazing week for us and we even had one rain day which we enjoyed relaxing and listening to nature.
