House was built as a family home but because of a change in work location we now use it as a holiday home
The Owner purchased this house in 2003
My family and I loved everything about this house. It was cozy and inviting from the moment we walked in. It's location was perfect for walking into Roundstone for dinner or a pint (bring a flashlight if walking at night), and the view from the front windows is stunning. We can't wait to return and stay even longer in this beautiful part of the country.
The picture makes this house look kind of small but the moment you walk in the front door you realize the house is very spacious. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect place for my family and I to relax, spread out and explore. The village of Roundstone is very charming and a short walk away. The nearby beaches are spectacular, especially if you are lucky to catch a sunny day with little wind, we did, and it was heaven. My husband spent several days fishing nearby and caught a record sized Atlantic salmon! Don't think twice about renting this home, it really is pretty close to perfect.
We has a wonderful Easter holiday staying in this bright big and spacious home. We were there with our two daughters, their husbands and children. The kitchen is so well equipped with everything you would need. The large dining area was ideal for our home cooked meals and there is plenty of seating areas as well. The whole house is spotless. Helen
met us on arrival to welcome us and tell us about the area. Roundstone is just a few minutes walk where there are many restaurants and pubs. The scenery around Roundstone is absolutely stunning and we were lucky enough to have had beautiful weather, which made it even more spectacular. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return next year.
This house is a spectacularly designed family home facing a part of Roundstone Bay with scenic beauty framed by practically all the windows. Our group of eight successfully used this location as our base to explore Connemara, and would definitely rent the place again. We walked to the village of Roundstone a number of times and took short drives to many interesting places in the region. While the kitchen is large and perfectly designed, the range wasn’t functional during our visit, but, since the house is equipped with a kitchenette in the utility room, we were able to use the small gas oven and stove from there with only minor inconvenience. Also, we had some trouble getting the house to heat up because of the complicated climate control procedures. Overall, though, these issues were minor compared to the many wonderful qualities the property offers.
We had a very memorable holiday in this very spaciousness bright home. We had ten family members so had plenty of room with 5 nice bedrooms. We had every facility we needed with a nice big kitchen, utility room and plenty of sitting areas. We had all travelled far but was certainly worth it to enjoy the beautiful village of Roundstone and surrounding areas. We enjoyed delicious food at Vaughans and O'Dowds and lots of fun at Kings pub. Made some new friends here who were so friendly and showed us some of the local sights.
Will definitely be back and would highly recommend this house!
As a family of 6 adults traveling from the U.S., we were looking for an "Irish cottage/small village" experience and we were very pleased with our choice. The home is very charming, spacious and well decorated. We were quite comfortable and Helen, the owner, stopped by to welcome us on the first day.
Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey are within a 30 minute drive. Take a trip to Inishbofin from Cleggan a 30 minute drive away. 1 hour drive from Galway City and Westport.
