Why sally obrien chose Foggy Bottom

We are within easy walking distance to the Mall, the White House, and the Lincoln Memorial. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. You don't need a car in Foggy Bottom so we advise guests to leave their car at a suburban Metro station or if you have a car, to park in one of the nearby commercial lots

What makes this house unique

This is a rare two-bedroom apartment in historic house. The apartment has security features and is on a safe street. The front door of the apartment is protected with two doors with deadbolt locks. The Vista apartment is only an 8 minute walk to DC's only kosher restaurant.

Delightful stay

  • 5 of 5

The owner act much like a host; the apartment is spacious. Its location is spectacular-- in Foggy Bottom, close to many offices and agencies, very close to a metro stop and to grocery stores. Kitchen is well provisioned. I have stayed in this owner's properties several times-- and for good reasons (see above).

Great location and comfortable accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of five and found the accommodation suitable for our short stay in DC. We caught the train to the apartment (with luggage) and walked to all the attractions. Having Whole Foods close by was handy. Good shower and laundry facilities. Would stay again.

Great stay in Foggy Bottom

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Sally's house so we love it. The 2 bedrooms make It perfect for us and our daughter and the location is great for Metro, clubs and stores. Sally herself has always been very easy to reach and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back.

great location and owner

  • 4 of 5

Picked this rental solely on location . The good: Just as described metro is super close so we were able to quickly see all the sights we wanted. Owner provided metro cards which saved time and a few dollars. Walking distance to white house & riverside towards Georgetown. Owner let us check in a little early ,provided a place to store luggage after checkout. There is parking which is a super bonus parking is extremely hard to find plus the parking police there are super serious. After being in a hotel for 4 days it was nice to be able to do laundry and have our own meals since it is very expensive to eat out in DC. Local groceries way to expensive for my taste too. Owner left directions and bags for local markets which was a nice touch There were a tiny amount of supplies in the apartment which was enough for 2 nights and sub par form the previous homeaway place we stayed at in another part of town the week prior.SO , the not so great. Unless you want a true college apartment experience not the place for you. I had to laugh as I was with my 23 yrs old how it was like picking him up a college and brought back my college days. Very, very small so 4 adults were all over each other. saying fits 5 is a real stretch .apt a tad shabby, particularity the furniture. Front bedroom bed comfy bit told back not so much. Plus a very loud obnoxious dog barks non stop at the back of the house .Very heavy traffic in the area particularity at night. Tons of people walking and loud talking . Airport path overhead . Being an avid traveler I always have a sleep noise app at hand and a sleep mask. its a city so expected that .poor shading for sleep in front room. The kitchen items haphazardly thrown into the cabinets and not much there. bring your own coffee and water. The bathroom amenities were pathetic. conditioner was a large bottle of pantene that obviously used by many. GROSS. tiny shampoo in ancient corroded medicine cabinet. Hair in tub. some pamphlets about site seeing but that's all. they are worn . would have liked a more formal book of sites to see particularity restaurants. Can us Uber eats which was great. gave 4 stars due to location and being prepared for what I expected as an avid traveler. having a heads up of what to expect hopefully would cause anyone reading this to stay here. Totally worth it for the charm of the area historic house ( even tho the patio is so decrepit afraid fall through it) plus my low expectations with home away properties
