Jenny or Jo purchased this house in 2015
We thought this location would be perfect for people who want to visit Balloon Fiesta, Rio Rancho, Coralles, or the west side.
Handicapped accessible, spacious rooms, close to everything
Very clean....all things in a kitchen needed to make meals....internet great....direct tv.....great water pressure....Jenny was available by phone if ever we needed her
Very nice and comfortable place to stay with many extras.
My goals: comfortable living and be able to walk where I wanted to go. The house was clean and nicely set up for its guests, including the foodies (my guests were all foodies, me not so much) who like to cook. It was equipped with everything from coffee to paper towels, plenty of cookware, decent knives, mugs, etc. I just needed to get groceries. It's across the street from a fun senior center, a couple of blocks away from a good grocery, and a short distance from the start of a scenic three mile walk. My guests were comfortable in the guest room and using the guest bath. Jenny is professional and also lots of fun to talk to. I really can't say enough. I plan to stay there again when it's available in the future.
When I booked the property the description did not reveal that this is a double wide in a mobile home community. By personal preference I would not have booked had I known this. I wanted a traditional subdivision for walking and this was outside my comfort zone. The photos show a patio area and the description talks about an area friendly for dogs. I was surprised to find that the patio is actually the front yard adjacent to a busy street and is not the same area enclosed to keep in pets or children. The dog run is on the side, rocks only, and not visible from the patio. The woven blinds in the living area and the master bath area do not provide privacy at night. With lights on inside, someone outside can see right in. The 40+ year old home itself had a stale, old odor that no amount of room spray would cover for long. There were some cobwebs on the ceiling light fixtures and dust in the multiple artificial plants in the interior. The views of the trailer park are depressing. There are old tires, trash cans, clothes lines, rocks, other trailers and multiple types of patched together fencing. I'm still puzzled as to why the high "holiday" rate was warranted on this property. Another thing not revealed in the listing is that there is a service fee tacked on at the time billing is presented. In my case it was around $82 adding to the feeling of being ripped off on this deal. Some attention is needed to ambiance since it was a turnoff to see a can of Bed Bug and Flea spray and a grease receptacle on a storage shelf outside the laundry room. The refrigerator door was full of opened jars and condiments which most people would not want to use. There were some expired canned goods in the pantry. On the plus side, there are 2 nice TVs with DirectTV, good internet, a good master mattress and ample towels provided. This property may be fine for people seeking a lower budget place for their own reasons but I feel it was oversold on the listing and not a property I would want to stay in again.
When our work trip was extended we decided to book this place again without question. The place was clean and we had another wonderful experience staying on the property.
The property was very convenient to the Balloon Fiesta park, a full service grocery store and the Costco. It was spacious and worked very well for two couples traveling together. The kitchen was very well equipped and easy to cook in. There were two large flat screen TVs and Direct TV. However, we were very surprised to discover that the property was a double-wide trailer, albeit at the beginning of the neighborhood. The living room was not well lit, but opening the blinds revealed the views of the neighbors' trailers and gravel yards which were depressing.
This home is at the heart of Rio Rancho. Only 3 blocks to restaurants, groceries and shopping. Walking trails, Senior Center, Convent, and many more things are just blocks away. Cottonwood Mall is just down the hill and Coralles, is a stone's throw away.
