Sleeps 4, Kitchen, Bathroom, Screened Porch With View Of Surrounding Woods

Our five housekeeping cottages are classic new Hampshire cabins, neatly kept, simple, no-frills yet possessing an old-fashioned charm that many refer to as 'spirit-renewing'. Colonial Pines sits on the edge of picturesque Center Harbor Bay.

THE SPACE:

This cozy cottage sits nestled in the woods. The cottage accommodates up to four guests. It has one bedroom with a queen size bed, bureau, chair and closet. The living room has a full size futon with twin bunk on top, small bureau, a sitting area with comfortable chairs, a TV and closet. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and a drip coffee maker. All dishes, silverware and pots and pans are provided.

Food or meals are not provided. Local supermarket is less than a mile away.

The cottage has a screened in porch with table and chairs for dining and relaxing.

Our location is in a quiet non-commercialized area, assuring our guests of privacy. This cottage have a view of the surrounding woods, and a peek a boo view of the lake.

Get in touch with nature, perfect for boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. There are few locations on the 'big lake' that offer so much privacy without a long drive to the store and services. Restaurants and groceries are only 2 minutes by car or boat. Restaurants ranging from family fast food to gourmet meals are within a couple of miles.

GUEST ACCESS:

One hundred fifty feet of sandy bathing with gradual slope, two wharves, one with diving board; swim raft, stone fireplace by lake for cook-outs, outdoor shuffle-board court, badminton, and table tennis.

Complimentary use of canoes. Kayak RENTALS available.

There are many islands to explore by water. The harbor is protected on three sides which makes it ideal for canoeing and kayaking.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:

We live on the property and assist our guests with check-in, boat rentals, finding local attractions, and any other way we can. One of our reviewers says it best: 'Cindy and Gary are experienced hosts who know how to welcome guests and offer assistance, but also leave space for privacy. They are genuinely nice people, and we felt completely comfortable with them'. We have new guests and guests that have been coming for over 40 years.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:

We are within walking distance to the quaint town of Center Harbor. There are wonderful little shops in town including Keepsake Quilting, a bookstore, a grocery store, ice cream stands, restaurants and even a gazebo for band concerts on Friday evenings.

Hiking, antiquing, golfing, outlet shopping are just a few of the many activities close by.

Close to the White Mountains and Gunstock ski area where you can enjoy many outdoor activities. There are lots of hiking trails for all abilities within a short drive.

GETTING AROUND:

Some guests bring bicycles.

A great family tradition is walking to town for ice cream on a hot summer night.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

Events and holiday weekends may require a longer stay.

A deep well on the property assures great drinking water.

Boat slips available if you bring your own boat. Additional cost for boat slips. Please inquire. Plenty of parking for trailers.

Cruise Lake Winnipesaukee on the MS Mount Washington (it departs from Center Harbor on Monday's), hike in the White Mountains, tour Castle in the Clouds, shop at the outlet stores in North Conway, go zip lining in Lincoln, ride the Cog Railroad up Mount Washington. Just to name a few of the many things to see and do in our beautiful area!

About Gary and Cindy Kunz

Our seven bedroom lodge was built in 1915 as a private home. Cottages were built later and became Lawrence Cottages. The Luce family purchased the resort in 1960 and we continue to strive to maintain comfort and peacefulness while balancing the historical significance of waterfront housekeeping cottages.

Beautiful Lakeside Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Great secluded lakeside location in the middle of a natural wonderland. The cabin was well maintained, clean and comfortable. The queen mattress was great and the flat screen tv was an unexpected bonus. We had all we needed for a wonderful time and we will return.
