Stylish 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath newly renovated town house on Philadelphia's most beautiful block ( according to Philadelphia Magazine). Built in 1862, the house was all new systems for one's comfort and convenience. Fabulous dining and shopping are just steps away from this very quiet street. Historic sites, art galleries, bike and walking paths are nearby. A small garden provides additional relaxing space.
This is a quirky, charming house in a great location/jumping point for all city attractions. The home has all the architectural fun of a house built in the 1800s, but with modern amenities. Alice, our host, was gracious and attentive. The house does require some dexterity as it has a steep, spiral staircase, but with the ropes alongside it was not a problem. The heated floors in the basements and bathrooms were a nice touch! Oh, and the beds were super comfortable (pillows, comforters, etc..) Highest recommendation!
My daughter and I stayed at this lovely Rittenhouse Trinity home while visiting from out of town to attend a family function. Alice met us upon arrival, gave us a tour of the home and left us with some useful information for use during our stay. The home was immaculate with every conceivable amenity. We really appreciated the chilled bottle of wine along with the sticky buns our first night and although we did not partake of the various breakfast items (great restaurants in the area) it was a wonderful, thoughtful touch.
As a native Philadelphian, it was a real treat to visit after so many years with my daughter and show her some sights. Alice's home was the icing on the cake! We enjoyed our walks around Rittenhouse Park as well as breakfast out at Little Pete's, dinner at Barclay Prime and cocktails and assorted hor d'oeuvres at Parc.
This home is perfect for those who have no mobility issues. The stairs were spiral and the handrail is a huge nautical rope!
Thanks Alice for a memorable stay.
We stayed here over Christmas 2015 and it was a magical, magical time! We usually stay with family, as they are all there, but as our immediate family has grown, we wanted to find a place for the 6 of us and enjoy the city. This is a beautiful house, full of old charm. It is exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. We loved our time at Waverly Place and had a wonderful Christmas!
I highly recommend this place! Wonderful homey house in a historical neighborhoods, easy access to grocery stores, convenient transportation and Alice is a great host! We'll definitely come back in the future!
It was like stepping back in time but in a good way. The house had been lovingly remodeled keeping the historic elements but with the modern comforts
that make ones stay pleasant. I enjoyed my mooring coffee in the basement kitchen looking out to the small garden. The location was perfect with bus connections very easy. You could walk to most places and enjoy the lovely neighborhood. I would suggest that if you stay more that a day or two more places
to put things would be great. The storage was tight. I would also suggest a wall hook for the hand shower on the top bedroom bath. Other than that I would
recommend it in a heartbeat
This was a great house, and was exactly what we needed, as our other house around the corner did not have enough beds. While I would not recommend it for entertaining (it is simply not big enough), it was a very comfortable spot to bed down at night, and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. House was exactly as depicted in the listing, very clean, and well maintained. The owner met us, gave a tour, and was available any time we needed her. The location was great, walking distance to downtown, museums, and great restaurants. I'd recommend Honey's Sit and Eat around the corner, the breakfast was tremendous (just bring cash, as they don't take cards). We would absolutely stay there again, particularly if we were taking a trip with another couple. This house would be perfect for that. Thanks!
