When we arrived for the Christmas week we were delighted that the garden and garage were wonderfully decorated with Xmas lights and in the lounge there was a large fully decorated Xmas tree....a most welcoming touch.
The house was spotless and the fully stocked kitchen made for easy catering.
The children were more than catered for as well with endless amounts of games, jigsaw puzzles, dvd's etc.
The house is ideally placed for long walks and in nearby Coldingham there is a Spar shop for provisions, two pubs and the New Inn serves excellent meals.
In Eyemouth....5 miles away... there are also many shops and superb restaurants.
I would thoroughly recommend Westloch for your holiday stay .....it is remote and yet within easy reach of the beautiful village of Coldingham.
We had a fabulous time at Westloch cottage. There were four adults and six children amongst our group but the house more than accommodated us all. The house is in a very tranquil setting and the local area is beautiful. We had a particularly wonderful day at Coldingham beach, a beautiful sandy bay, perfect for young children, albeit a little cold in April! There was everything you could need for your stay, lots of books, DVDs and games. Plenty of towels and bed linen.
We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for our stay!

I recently stayed inWestloch cottage with a group of friends for my 30th birthday and had such a wonderful time.
The property was spotless, clean, and luxurious. The bedrooms were spacious, bright and airy, and the surroundings were perfect.
I would highly recommend Westloch to anyone looking for a relaxing break away in the country.
This was our second visit to Westloch cottage and yet again it didn't disappoint. It was a last minute booking due to being let down by another property and the owners could not have been more understanding and accomodating. The house is fantastic! Very clean and with all the comforts of home (and more). Went for a meal at the New Inn in Coldingham itself which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend this property for family/friend get togethers.
Had a fantastic 2 weeks at westloch cottage. The house is faultless, it has everything you need and more! The space is amazing, the kids loved playing hide and seek! Fantastic area, great for all ages, especially Coldingham Bay, the best beach i've been to for kids, its not too big to lose kids and not too small to be overcrowded! There's a cafe there and a lovely walk over the coastal path! St Abbs head is fantastic, very breathtaking! And if you've got young kids the seaside town of Spittal is great not far from Berwick upon Tweed! The New Inn does excellent food and caters very well for kids! The castles in the area are fab well worth a look! Eyemouth is a great very well equipped town, theres a fantastic swimming pool, an amusement arcade with a mini bowling alley upstairs which is great for little kids and big alike! The shops in eyemouth are lovely, obviously not shopping spree shops but just quint seaside shops! The beach at eyemouth is lovely and good for swimming, digging sandcastles and fishing in rock pools!
Overall we had a fantastic 2 weeks and it helped by having a great house where we could all get space if needed! As there was 6 adults 4 kids and 2 babies the space was definitly needed! Would 100% recommend this house and the area to anyone, any age! Beautiful!
We had a lovely week in April at Westloch Cottage. The weather, although cold, stayed dry for the whole week. The house is ideal for 2 families sharing. We enjoyed meals in sat around the very spacious dining room table. The house is in a very good location and there are a lot of things to do. We enjoyed a short walk to Coldingham Loch, a day at Alnwick Gardens, Seahouses and visits to quite a few of the local National Trust properties. I would recommend the property to anyone wanting to stay in this area.
Coldingham is an attractive village on the Berwickshire coast, two miles from the spectacular fishing village of St Abbs and three miles northwest of Eyemouth on the North Sea Coast in Berwickshire. The capital city of Edinburgh (Home of the Festival) is located approximately 1 hour away via the A1, easily accessible and convenient for a day trip. Berwickshire is located on the east side of the Scottish Borders and offers a wide variety of seaside, riverside and lochside locations that are both enchanting and romantic. Northumberland is located to the south of Berwickshire, where even more secluded golden beaches and stunning countryside are set within the Northumberland National Park. In addition to the dramatic cliff top walks and picturesque Coldingham Loch there are a number of attractions including beaches, scuba diving, trekking, riding, fishing and many nearby golf clubs.
