About Adele

We are a family who all enjoy winter sports and the outdoors We hail from the UK but have fallen in love with the 'Old West'! Mike is the author of three historical frontier fiction novels and Adele is a trustee of an animal welfare charity. Our children are avid skiers, passionate about American football and have always enjoyed the multitude of activities that Livingston has to offer. With white water rafting, floating the Yellowstone, horse riding, mountain biking and fly fishing there is never a dull moment!

Adele purchased this house in 2008

Why Adele chose Livingston

Livingston is a unique town with its proximity to Yellowstone National Park but the town has so much more to offer. It has its own historic downtown, surrounded by three fabulous mountain ranges and the Yellowstone River runs right through the heart of the town. Our home gives us easy access to Bozeman and the wonderful ski resort of Bridger Bowl, The Beartooth Scenic Highway, Paradise Valley and also a scenic 45 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park with year round access through the Northern gate!

What makes this house unique

With easy access to the I 90 and just a 35 minute drive to Yellowstone International Airport you can be sitting on the deck surrounded by spectacular views in no time at all.

Great House on the hill

  • 5 of 5

This being our 3rd time staying in the "Great House on the Hill" there are no way we can really express our enjoyment. The house is just the best place to stay on Livingston.

Clean and spacious and a wonderful view of Livingston. Just can't be beat.

Thanks Adele and Muke

Family vacation in Montana

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family of nine vacationed together in Montana the last week of July, and thankfully, we chose Hunkapi as our lodging. The house was beautiful and accommodated us wonderfully, and Adele was very attentive and kept in touch on a regular basis. The house was very well-equipped, with kitchen essentials, plenty of towels, and lots of information on things to do and sights to see. The house is located just off Hwy 89, which leads directly to Yellowstone to the South and downtown Livingston to the North. It also has easy access to I-90, and it is a short drive to Bozeman and the Museum of the Rockies. My family enjoyed fly fishing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking, the Park, and the Museum, as well as the Farmers' Market, shopping and brew pubs in downtown Livingston. We also took advantage of the hot tub and played many games of pool at the house. I should also mention how lovely the scenery was from the house - I have fantastic photos from the deck of the sun rising and setting over the mountains. We even took Senior portraits for my niece, with Livingston Peak in the background! All in all, a great trip - thank you, Adele!

Amazing "Home Away From Home"

  • 5 of 5

"Hunkapi", as it is called, is a wonderful place to call "home" while you are on vacation!! We are a family of 9 , my husband & I, our 3 sons & our 3 beautiful daughter-in-laws that all have gotten married in this past year (yes, that's right, 3 wedding in the last year) and our beautiful 17 year old daughter who enjoyed a family vacation in Montana. The home is so beautiful and has SO MUCH to offer!! It is VERY clean, kitchen is well stocked, gas grill was great for cooking out, towels are large and soft, beds are SO comfortable, the scenery is breathtaking, the Hot tub felt so good each day after hiking, the wildlife viewing was enjoyable at the start and end of each day(we brought a spotting scope along for this & got to see a lot of beautiful buck), sitting on the deck was relaxing, the entertainment options were great whether it was ping-pong, pool, corn hole toss, listening to music or watching movies, star gazing was beautiful and the owners, Adele & Mike were so helpful before, during & after our stay!!! They had coolers for us to use for lunches as we went out exploring each day & the grocery store was only 5 minutes away. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in this area and would love to come back and stay again if we ever return to the Livingston area!! It truly was a fantastic place to stay on vacation!!!!

Owner's Response: Dear Kelly You have had a very busy year with 3 weddings and I hope that a stay in Montana has been the 'icing on the cake'. It is such a fabulous place to just 'soak up' the summer, relax and unwind. Family time is so important and we believe there is no better place to enjoy time with each other than Big Sky Country! Come back and see us again soon. Adele

Owner's Response: Mark I am so pleased that your guests all enjoyed our home and that your fly fishing event was a great success. It sounds as if Todd managed to create some great meals for you all too. It was such a shame that one of the air conditioning units stopped working especially when it had only just had its annual service two weeks prior to your arrival! Our caretakers and great friends, Kirk and Julie, are amazing and it was great to know they had it up and running within 24 hours! We are looking forward to welcoming you all back in 2018!

Great location. Room for everyone.

  • 5 of 5

I knew when I first saw the information about Hunkapi that this would be perfect for our family trip to Yellowstone. There were plenty of bedrooms for everyone to have their own space, and enough bathrooms so that getting ready to hit the trail in the mornings was no problem. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and dishes as well as with basic supplies. We loved the views from any room in the house, and we enjoyed watching the deer which frequented the property.

Though it is an hour's drive to the north entrance to Yellowstone, it is a beautiful drive and well worth it! In addition, while the property gives you the impression of privacy and solitude, the conveniences of town were just a few minutes away. Livingston is a nice community with friendly people and plenty of restaurants, museums, grocery stores, and so forth. It even has an urgent care facility should you need quick medical attention (which I did!). Had we more time, we would have liked to explore Bozeman as well. Maybe next time!

Certainly one of the best parts of our experience was Adele's care and concern for us. Communication between us was easy and frequent enough so that I knew she wanted to ensure that we would enjoy our stay. Working with her helped make our trip to Yellowstone a wonderful family adventure.

Owner's Response: Michael, It has truly been such a pleasure helping you plan your Yellowstone adventure for your family! I really do enjoy getting to know all of our guests personally and ensuring that you have a memorable vacation. I hope your grandchildren have had some great experiences to share with their friends when they return to school in the Fall. A visit to Yellowstone is a treat but also so educational. Bozeman and the surrounding area has so much to offer, so if you come back another year please do get in touch.. Adele
