Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday villa in Urubamba Province - Taytawasi

4 Bedroom, 5 Bathroom, 10 Sleeps

Kantuwasi Lodge is set in a fary-tale location in the middle of the Andes. Surrounded by a 4000m2 perfectly-groomed flower garden, Taytawasi is a 300m2 , 4-bedroom/4-bathroom villa built with traditional style and luxury materials. Daily breakfast and cleaning included!

Located at only a 5 minutes by car (1 mile) from a train station with direct link to Machu Picchu, Taytawasi is the ideal starting point to explore the Sacred Inca Valley and its many archeological treasures such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Besides, the lower altitude than Cusco (2850 m.a.s.l. – 9350 f.a.s.l.), allows for a much better altitude adaptation. Kantuwasi Lodge is located 10-15 min by foot to the center of Urubamba, the capital of the Sacred Inca Valley.

We can help you arrange taxi or mini bus services to/from the airport, as well as guided tours to the many tourist attractions in the area.

Upon your arrival we will greet you with the traditional coca leaf tea, and other herbal teas from our own organic garden, comforting and good for adapting to the altitude. We will also help you with your luggage so you can start enjoying your vacations right from the start. There's even emergency oxygen available in the rare event of altitude sickness symptoms.

Taytawasi is located in the Kantuwasi Lodge, a 4000m2 - 12000 sq. feet property full of flower gardens in which 3 villas are located. Enjoy the comfort of an exclusive hotel and the independence and freedom of your own house.

Share with your family the wonderful experience of watching the night sky without any light contamination. You will be able to contemplate constellations, planets, and shooting stars quite frequently.

Taytawasi has more than 300m2 and it’s been built in a traditional style which harmonizes perfectly with the surrounding landscape. Extra high ceilings and wide windows will give you extraordinary views and brightness throughout the house. There are wood and stone designer touches all around the primary living areas, a traditional fireplace, and a gourmet kitchen.

This inviting home also has a wooden floor lounge/gameroom/library area and a separate glass-enclosed spa room which includes a 3 person hydrotherapy tub and a rainfall shower. Enjoy a unique moment in a relaxing bubble bath while you look at our spectacular mountain and forest views.

There are 4 bedrooms:

*Room I (master suite): two beds (can be joined to make a double bed), ensuite bathroom, balcony with wonderful views.

*Room II: up to three beds. Ensuite bathroom.

*Room III: up to three beds. Ensuite bathroom.

*Room IV: one double bed and one double sofa bed, private external bathroom.

All bedrooms have heaters, luxury linen and towels (100% Peruvian cotton, down comforters).

*Fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator)

*We have children playing balls, table games, Sapo (Peruvian coin toss game) and a foosball table.

Our service personnel will make sure your bedrooms and common areas are cleaned daily. They will also light the fireplace, and/or prepare the spa at your demand. It is all included!!

In addition, we have a 24h surveillance service that will ensure your peace of mind during your stay.

Enjoy the experience of our most traditional dish, the Pachamanca (from Quechua pacha "earth", manka "pot") made with 100% local organic produce (6 persons min.).

Peaceful and Pampered Stay in Urubamba

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Kantuwasi was not only one of the highlights of our recent trip to the Sacred Valley, but one of the highlights of any of our prior vacations and home rentals! To say Hernan, Margarite and Raul were attentive hosts would be an understatement! From Hernan's almost daily emails checking on us and offering to arrange for transportation or dinner reservations to Margarite's delicious breakfasts and spotless housekeeping to Raul's daily visit to light our fireplace, my family and the friends we traveled with were truly pampered during our visit.

The villa is lovely, clean and beautifully decorated. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The family room offers plenty of seating for snuggling up in front of the fire and sharing memories of the day's Peruvian adventures. Only a 15 minute walk down a quite road to the wonderful town of Urubamba.

While it's true the WiFi was unreliable, it was very helpful to have the computer and printer in order to print the paper tickets we needed.

Some of our favorite activities and adventures included a day with Andean Encounters; biking with Sacred Wheels; shopping for handcrafted jewelry at Artesanias Juanita and visiting the local market early in the morning. And you MUST eat at least one meal at Q'anela. Best Pisco Sours and alpaca we had in Peru! Enjoy!

Beautiful Villa on the edge of Urubamba

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful property, well cared for and very comfortable! We had a blast staying in the Taytawasi Villa for 3 nights acclimating for the Inca Trail Hike to Machu Picchu. Margarita and the other caretakers were very attentive. We had a little difficulty finding the property as we arrived after dark from Cusco. But, with a little persistence we found it! It is a short walk from the villas to the middle of town. We would definitely stay here again!

Jeff F. stay at Taytawasi

  • 5 of 5

We had a party of six and had an awesome time staying at the villa. It was a nice walk into town. Margarita and staff did a great job of caring for our needs. Breakfast each day was great. We did have some laundry done one day and that was a very nice service. Beautiful place!

Great property - as advertised.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at the property. We took advantage of the transportation, dining and guide services offered - all were excellent. The caretakers were fantastic - personable and very helpfull. Traveling with Spanish speakers was extremely helpful. If we had not benn able to speak the language, it would have been much more challenging. Also, the house is a bit out of town; without a physical address, it was sometimes difficult to get back and forth. All in all, we were very satisfied and highly recomend this property.

Family holiday at Taytawasi villa in Urubamba

  • 4 of 5

Reasonably well located - walking distance to central Urubamba on a quiet road on a secluded residential lane.

Good access by car to Inca sites in the Sacred valley (Ollaytaytambo, Pisac, Chincerro, Moray)

The house had all these amenities and was in a lovely setting

The hosts were very responsive and the onsite staff (Margarida and husband) were incredibly helpful and kind

The only 2 criticisms that we had about the house were that the wifi and/or Internet was intermittent at best and we weren't prepared for the fact that the house as not heated and at nighttime the house was cold during our stay in June (although the onsite staff did their best to turn on space heaters and build fires in the fireplace in the evenings).

We had a memorable experience and a glimpse of life in a small town in Peru, that we would not have had if we had stayed in a hotel.

charming and secluded villa

  • 4 of 5

outside of town in a beautiful garden setting with stunning scenery - big house with great amenities plus a housekeeper that takes very good care of you and prepares a lovely breakfast every morning and cleans up after you - she is also helpful in assisting with arrangements (like getting a driver, taxis, reservations, etc) but basic Spanish is required to communicate effectively - it is a little isolated ad was hard for our driver to find when we were first arriving but once we got used to the environment it felt safe enough even walking the 20 minutes into the town
