Heavenly views!

  • 5 of 5

The three little birds house was absolutely breathtaking. The house was very clean, and well-kept. It was everything we could have asked for. My husband, and our friend traveled out to the island in front of the house. It took them 45 minutes by snorkel and foot. They stated it was the best snorkeling they had seen all around the island. While my friend and I were floating in front of the house, we were fortunate to see a stingray. There is a cooler in the water tank room, as well as some rafts that we left for the next visitors. We also left a pair of flippers for anybody wanting to Adventure out. We were fortunate to have a little visitor. He was a sweet little dog, which we called lucky. He ended up visiting us every single day. This was my second time on Great Exuma. Cocoplum Beach was absolutely stunning. You definitely have to travel to Tropic of Cancer. Chat 'N' Chill is a must. We rented a boat through Minns water sports. You are able to take a water taxi to the island as well. The Stingrays swim right up to you and you're able to feed them. We ended up purchasing sardines from the Exuma Market in town. We ended up renting a car through Thompson's rental which was great. They're located right at the airport when you arrive. While there we ended up doing an Excursion through 4 C's to see the pigs, iguanas, and ThunderBall Grotto. This was our second trip with that company. If heading on an Excursion to see the pigs, I suggest running to Exuma market and picking up some bread and carrots for the pigs, and cabbage for the iguanas. We were very fortunate to not have a problem with the noseeums. Will definitely be renting again from Tony next year. My friend and I are so much in love with Great Exuma, that we're heading back in 2 months to stay in the house next door. I've been fortunate to travel all around the world, and have never seen a more beautiful place than the Exuma Cays. I would definitely give three little birds a 5-star rating.

Island Time

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful 6 night stay at Three Little Birds with family and friends. Location was ideal, views were incredible, water was perfect as we relaxed on Island time. We had a Ford Explore which handled off main road commute to house and beaches. Kayaking daily brought home new sights and adventure stories. Walking to near by islands at low tide found beauty and water aerobics worth the burn. Exploring south found The Salt Marker and beauty of Tropic of Cancer Beach.

Must take items,

sunscreen, beach towels, bug spay, pack dry good foods, coffee, creamer, crackers, power bars, gatorade, soaps, shampoos, best grocery on the hill, great meats a deli near airport, best restaurants north of town by Shirley's shack. Bring all cash for ease and no extra charges. All casual clothes for this island. You will wear yourself out doing day activities so nightlife is a time of rest and reflection. We are coming back!

Great vacation at Three Little Birds

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Three Little Birds was fantastic. The open space living room/kitchen was spacious enough for our group of two couples. TV is usually unimportant to our vacation however it proved useful for watching the Olympics after a long day outside. The freshwater from the faucet was indeed working (we were skeptical after poor reviews stated otherwise). It also supplied fresh water to the amazing outdoor shower which was critical after spending all day in the salt. The kayaks and the ramp were perfect. We have spent our entire vacation in Masters Harbour in the past and have had to contend with leaky kayaks, poor water supply, and houses in disrepair. We come to Exuma to enjoy outdoor activities in its rustic beauty. We understand that things do not always run perfectly there. All that being said, we absolutely loved Three Little Birds. It had everything one would need. Our only small contentions were: 1) The quality of the beds. We knew upon booking that we were getting only double beds, however the beds were not only short but rather uncomfortable. 2) Trash removal. We had no place for it and as such we had to tow it to town. The more time we can spend on activities, the better. So dealing with town issues like garbage felt impeding. That being said, we all agreed that we would book Three Little Birds again. Thank you Tony for sharing your wonderful house with us.

Exuma Blues

  • 5 of 5

I am back in Ohio and I have a bad case of Exuma Blues. Wished I could have stayed forever. I cannot say how Wonderful this property is! This is my second trip to the island and the colors are as amazing as I remembered them 30 years ago. How can there be so many shades of blue. Tropical breezes and both Sunrises and Sunsets off the deck.

If you are looking for cruise ships, casinos and a lot of shopping - this is not the house for you. The home is not isolated - there are about 10 vacation rentals along this section of Bonefish Flats. Met many of the neighbors - our favorite were Scooby and Bandit that visited at least once a day.

It is located in the middle of the island and there are great beaches in both directions. A dozen restaurants. The roads in the subdivision are very rough. We had unusual rains when we were there. The roads were flooded but we had an AWD Rav which made it through everything. There were actually ducks swimming down the Queen's Highway. Just part of the adventure.

I stayed for 2 weeks with two groups of family and friends coming down. Never ran out of things to do. There is a good supply of spices, oils, etc. that were left there by previous guests. You can find all the basics in the George Town stores. However, you will pay a few dollars more for items. Pack some food but don't get carried away. Nice selections of books and a deck of cards. Someone left coolers and floating lounges.

The four, roomy bedrooms all had double beds. Since my daughter did not want to sleep with her Aunt - she slept on the couch - which was very comfortable.

The Tourist Board has a People-to-People volunteer program - where you can meet the local residents and learn about the area. You do need to sign up before you leave. They were great!

Tony and Jane - THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for leaving a review glad to hear you and your family enjoyed the house and you appreciated the island way of life, the stunning sea and sky, as a well travelled person I have to say there is only one place in the world you find such unique colours, Exuma Bahamas. You also took the unusual weather in your stride adding it to your holiday experience. Don't wait another 30 years to come back you and your family will always be welcome at Three Little Birds. Thanks again Tony and Jane.

We had a great time here...

  • 4 of 5

The house is in a good spot and only a 10-minute drive to George Town. There are houses all along Sea Breeze Drive and the road itself is rough but it's not a problem. For those who like the independence and added responsibility of renting a home instead of staying at a resort, you can have a great time here. Our family of 5 (kids 17, 19, 22) stayed from 12/29/17 thru 1/5/18. The weather was nice and the sea water was warm. We took the kayaks out a lot. The sunsets were some of the best we have ever seen. Just about everything you need is in the kitchen as mentioned by other reviewers. There is a TV that seems like it might be picking up air stations from Miami although we didn't have it on much. The wifi appears to be picking up the BTC cell signal and then broadcasting it for the wifi... it was spotty [and sometimes slow] but it worked more than it didn't. One of the shower valves was not working (Lawrence said he was waiting for a part) on the back, right bedroom bathroom. All of the beds in the house are "full"... so a little smaller than a queen. That was fine for our kids but my wife and I were a little squished. The freshwater switch (from saltwater) was very welcomed by our family. The biggest issue we had was that there was almost no wind for the first 4-5 days and the bugs were very bad. No-see-ums, gnats, sand fleas... whatever they are... they hit us hard and we ended up with a lot of red, itchy dots. The owner can't control this and I spoke with MANY people all over the island who described the same thing. We ended up going to the treatment center after coming home and we're all on a prescription steroid. Some people have suggested oils and lotions so maybe prepare yourself ahead of time. It's possible for someone to spend a breezy week here and never have contact with these bugs so the weather is a factor for sure. If the water is calm and it's dawn or dusk, be careful. If there is a nice breeze you may not have to worry. Tony was very easy to work with and his communications were quick and helpful. He provides directions to the house along with other points and everything about the house is as advertised. There is a restaurant and quickie-mart near the house as well and we drove the island from end-to-end... from Barreterre to Williams Town and this home is in a good spot to go in either direction. Thanks for the rental Tony & Jane.
