I love this city and am always happy to share my experiences and favorite haunts with anyone who asks. I have worked hard to create a relaxing comfortable environment for my guests and I sincerely hope you will have a wonderful stay. Atwater village is one of the best areas in the city for visitors because it has many restaurants, bars, cafe's,and shops you can stroll to. It's also only a few minutes away by car to Silverlake, Echo Park,Los Feliz ,Eagle Rock and other fun areas.Atwater village is right by the 5 freeway so you can jump on and go to Disney land or magic mountain, or take ashort trip to Downtown L.A. . We're also just ten minutes from the L.A Zoo,the observatory ,Travel Town and The Autry Museum of Western Heritage. You can also enjoy many hikes in Griffith park or take a stroll down to the L.A river.
The cottage is very private and feels like your away from it all even though your right in the middle of it. It's lovely to enjoy coffee in the morning outside at the garden table or on the private from porch! There are many hummingbirds and even some wild parrots that have been flying by every day!
We loved this cottage. Perfect for two and the ideal location for buzzing around LA. Well maintained with an enclosed patio and all the privacy you need. On a pretty residential street and very quiet. Owner terrific and attentive. Will definitely return. A+
We stayed at this beautiful Silverlake/Atwater Property in December. I stayed there with my husband and two children, ages 16 and 9 and another friend and her two children, ages 14 and 2. We chose it because of it's fantastic location that is close to lots of cool shops and restaurants and it's situation on a quiet leafy street. The neighbours were all lovely people and when I took the two youngest children out for evening strolls they all said hello as we admired all the Christmas lights they were putting up. The house is surrounded by a high fence with a massive large sliding wooden gate which is great for privacy and security. There is a gorgeous grassy courtyard in the front with tables and chairs as well as a few kids toys. There is also a little tiled walkway with a bench and a hidden ashtray for those who smoke as the house is smoke free. The house itself was so cute, decorated with all sorts of vintage items. It was like a little art deco house with a real hipster feel. Even though it was so gorgeous, we felt totally comfortable at all times even with kids. The beds were amazing - high and plush and the linen was beautiful white cotton. Our bedroom had a little room off of it with a single bed for a child, which was great for us travelling with youngsters who want to sleep near the parents. Io the owner also brought us over a baby cot and lent us her son's pram for the stay. So thoughtful and kind. There was also a third office room that we were able to put a mattress on the floor for our oldest son so he could have privacy. The older kids were stoked with the TV projector which took up a whole wall! We were also offered discount tickets to tourist sites, given a fruit basket and a welcome gift by our accommodating hostess. At NO time did we ever feel unsafe in the house or the neighbourhood. We come from a small seaside village in Australia, population 300, and felt completely at home. Only my husband had ever spent time in Australia and we were a bit nervous about being in such a big city but it felt like we had a home away from home. We also had a huge vehicle and although there was no parking on the property itself, there was always parking available on the street and our car was totally safe. It was a worry free vacation in the big smoke! GREAT STAY AND CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!
The house was so comfortable we wished we could have stayed longer. The photos are a great representation of the property. Conveniently located near restaurants and a Trader Joe's as well. Our host was very helpful with a breakfast/lunch brunch and dinner suggestions. She even left us a bag of Peet's coffee to enjoy! Thx! Loved the great room/dining room area. It was perfect for sitting and having great conversation. Very relaxing and homey feel. Wonderful place to stay!
My family and I still miss La Clede ave, we stayed there for several months earlier this year. It's a sanctuary, and a gorgeous retreat. From the kitchen appliances and utensils to the big screen projector, io has thought of every possible thing a family could need for a comfortable and lovely stay. I think she even arranged for the hummingbirds to pop in every day. I cannot recommend La Clede high enough. It's super kid friendly which made it so easy for our one-year-old to feel at home. There was a high-chair, toys and books for him and the garden is superb, filled with herbs and edible goodies and fragrant flowers. The location in atwater Village was excellent - a short walk to the main drag and a short drive to supermarkets and Silverlake etc. The decoration is eclectic, Mid Century-ish in a Spanish style home (so la and tres chic), yet everything is warm and there are hooks everywhere and a spot for everything. She even has the shower water-filtered, so you don't get dry skin from la's tough water! io herself is very warm, generous and friendly and made us feel really welcome and is super-contacable. This is the place to be.
what a gorgeous, comfortable home and lovely neighbourhood. super clean, super cool. io couldn't be warmer, friendlier, more helpful. we loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone!! we'll definitely be back.
Io was a wonderful hostess, very available, receptive, flexible and helpful. The home theater was a nice surprise. The house is comfortable and the front yard is a GREAT place for morning coffee.
On Day 2 of our visit, Io called to make sure we had everything we needed. We are already planning our next stay.
Thanks so much.
we are in a very walkable pocket of L.A. One block away you can find two full blown theaters with top notch performances. There is a painting studio ,Brazilian yoga classes,a great private gym with excellent trainers.,also a very good cafe/restaurant that has live shows such as jazz and experimental. a ten minute walk from here and a whole world of shops, restaurants ,cafe's and yogas studios
